BARROW -- Wessolee Watson Barrow, born February 19, 1917 in a farmhouse at Howe, TX, was carried in the arms of angels to our Heavenly Father the 26th day of July, 2004, at the age of 87. She leaves behind numerous family members and friends who greatly appreciated her caring phone calls. Wessolee's working life began in the 6th grade. She lived with various families, working in their homes and caring for their children, to earn room and board while she attended school in Alpine, Texas. She completed her high school and college education in 3 years, graduating from Sul Ross State Teachers College at the age of 19 with a Bachelor of Science degree in August of 1937. Her career as an educator began in the fall of that year, in Fabens, TX. Wessolee and Thomas Wiley Barrow, whom she'd met in Alpine, were secretly married on December 22nd of that year at Carlsbad, NM. (Her $800.00 a year contract stated that she could not teach if she was married.) Prior to the war years, Wessolee and Tommy had managed picture shows in Odessa and Eldorado, TX and owned the picture show in Marble Falls, TX. Barrow continued her personal education, earning her Master's Degree in Education from Sul Ross in 1951. She taught in schools in West Texas; the Los Angeles City Schools during WWII and the Korean War; in Catron County Schools in NM; and since 1965, the Albuquerque Public Schools. At the time of her retirement in 1983, she was teaching the 6th grade enriched at Hoover Middle School. Seven credit hours from a doctorate, her career as an educator had spanned 46 years. Appreciative of the many awards and accolades she had received during her years as a teacher, her greatest joy was knowing she had contributed to a solid educational foundation for her students. Wessolee had been a member of NEA, NMEA, President of Catron County District 2 Teachers Association, and had served on the NMEA Southwest District Executive Committee. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a Distinguished Teacher in New Mexico. Preceded in death by her husband, Wessolee is survived by her son, Mark Ellis Barrow, wife, Toni and grandson, Brett of Belen; her daughter, Arliss Barrow Fullerton; her granddaughter, Monica Anne Fullerton of Las Cruces; her grandson, Thomas R. Fullerton, wife Beth, great-grandson, Chance, and great-great-granddaughter, Sierra of Moriarty; and her sister, Helen Buie of Odessa, TX. Wessolee's family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to Selette Barrow Surratt, of Cleburne, TX; and to family friend, Laurie Pierce Hunt of Austin, TX, whose parents, Red and Lunelle Pierce, had been friends for 75 years, who came to share their love and laughter with Mother. It is such a blessing having you in our lives. Thank you to the many family members and friends who called to share their love, who sent cards and flowers. The family also wishes to thank the doctors at Kaseman Presbyterian, the emergency room staff, the 800 unit and the 300 unit who were so kind and encouraging. We especially thank Jean Barr, who took the time to gently explain the do not resuscitate order. Thank you to the doctors, emergency room staff, and Dr. Bette Allen, who saw us twice, the orange pod at the Heart Hospital of New Mexico for their professional care and concern. To Dr. Wesselman and the Hospice Unit staff at the Albuquerque Regional Medical Center for their understanding, guidance, and gentle care of our Mother in her last days, thank you. Private cremation services have been held. The family requests memorial contributions in her honor be made to the First Methodist Church, PO Box 328, Alpine, TX, 79831, of which she was a member.

KNEE -- Stephen SOMETIMES THINGS HAPPEN THAT MAKE US ASK "WHY GOD" AND ALL WE CAN DO IS LOOK TO HIM IN FAITH - NOT UNDERSTANDING, JUST BELIEVING. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TIMES. BUT GOD IS STILL GOD AND HE IS NEEDED NOW MORE THAN EVER. To our many friends and family. Our hearts shall never forget your generous ways, whether is was food you brought, cards you sent, phone calls you have made, lawn care, house cleaning, meal organizers, babysitters, and especially your donations to the children's college fund. How could we ever forget the tremendous crowds and support at the services. And to the boys from the football teams of La Cueva and Cibola and the basketball team from La Cueva for your part, what pride we felt. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. We humbly thank all of you. The Knee, Brandt, and Novak Families

LOCK -- Richard (Dick) Happy Birthday Dad/Husband !!! Although it has been 2 short months, it seems like a lifetime. There isn't a day that doesn't go by without seeing you or hearing your voice our minds. Daddy's Hands by Holly Dunn is my tribute to the kind of man you were to your family. I remember daddy's hand folded silently in prayer. And Reachin' out to hold me, when I had a nightmare. You could read quite a story in the callous' and lines years of work and worry left their mark. I remember daddy's hands how they held my mama tight and patted my back for something done right. There are things that I'd forgotten that I loved about you, But I'll always remember the love in daddy's hands. Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin' Daddy's hands were hard as steel when I'd done wrong Daddy's hands weren't always gentle but I've come to understand There was always love in daddy's hands. I remember daddy's hands workin' 'til they bled. Sacrificed unselfishly just to keep us all fed. If I could do thing over, I'd live my life again, and never take for granted the love in daddy's hands. Dad/Honey everyone says you are in a better place, and we beg to differ. We wish you were here to wish you a wonderful birthday. We miss and love you dearly. You will be in our thoughts always. We will make up for the birhtdays we missed with you when we meet again. MCCULLOUGH -- Vera Y. McCullough, 87, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2004, in Albuquerque. She is survived by her daughter, Martha McCullough Wolf; sons, J.F. "Flint" McCullough III and wife, Christina, and Tom McCullough and wife, Vickie, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Tammy Brown, Randy Burk, J. F. McCullough IV, Melissa R. Cox, Dustin S. Burk and Keegan Cox; niece, Martha Vay Durrett, of Minden, LA. Born in Bernice, LA October 24, 1916, to William Thomas and Martha Jane McCall Yocom, she was raised in Camden, Arkansas and attended business college in Shreveport, LA, where she met her future husband, J. Fred McCullough, Jr. They married on April 1, 1939 and traveled together throughout the South while Fred continued his career in sales. Settling in Jacksonville, TX, where Fred became a partner with his father in the 7-Up Bottling Plant, they planned to spend their lives there surrounded by family and friends. The serious illness of their middle child, J. Fred, III, necessitated a move to a drier climate, and Albuquerque became their new home, an area they quickly learned to love. Vera, known far and wide for her Southern Hospitality and baking skills, simply never met a stranger. Everyone who came to her door was offered a cup of coffee and more, and she was always gracious and generous with family, friends and anyone she met along the way. To her, rudeness was a major flaw, and graciousness to all was her lifelong style. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her growing family, she had a successful career as an executive administrator, and spent the last 15 years of her career at Sandia Corp., where she worked with a group of nuclear scientists, her "guys," who depended on her strong organizational skills to keep the place going. After losing her husband to illness in 1974, she spent her many remaining years with her family as the center of her life. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and later, Hoffmantown Baptist Church. TRUJILLO -- George A., November 30, 1951 - August 8, 2003 One year ago today our lives crumbled and our hearts broke when you left us. Forever in our hearts. Nancy, Nicholas, Nicole & Jonathan. God saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered, "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched you fade away. Although we loved you dearly; we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest; God broke our hearts to prove to us..That He only takes the best. It's lonesome here without you; we miss you more each day. Life doesn't seem the same, since you went away. When days are sad and lonely, everything goes wrong, we seem to hear you whisper, "Cheer up and carry on." Each time we see your picture, you seem to smile and say, "Don't cry, I'm in God's hands, we'll meet again someday!"
