ALLEN -- Winton Eugene Allen passed away on July 26, 2004. He was born on December 17, 1913 in Duncan, OK, the son of William Ernest Allen and Yetta Jewell Blayde. His family moved to Colorado in 1921 and he grew up in Denver. He graduated from East Denver High School in 1931 and attended the University of Denver from 1931 to 1934. In 1938 he married Angelina Hernandez of Bernalillo, NM. During WWII he enlisted in the Navy and served in the Pacific from 1942 until the end of the war. After his service, he worked for the Dept. of the Navy in administrative and management positions both in California and Washington D.C. until his retirement. He was a long-standing member of the Lions Club and Sigma Phi Epsilon. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, and two sisters. He is survived by his children, Judith Allen Simmons, Adrianne Allen Herring, Winton E. Allen Jr.; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors, with Reverend Mark Stefanov officiating. ARAGON -- Maria (Nina) Aragon, 96, beloved mother and grandmother, peacefully joined the Lord on July 29, 2004. She lived in Albuquerque the majority of her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Nina enjoyed going to Bingos, Casinos, and spending time with her large family. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Chavez and Willie Aragon; and her son, Bobby Chavez. Nina is survived by her family members; Tommie Celaya, Flora Chavez, Charlotte Barreras and husband, Jerry, Rita Romero and husband, Leo, Anna Marie Blea and husband, Eddie, William Aragon and wife, Kathy, Cecilia Aragon, and Patti Bucklew; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services and viewing will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 550 Atrisco Dr. SW on Monday, August 2, 2004. BELSER -- John P. Belser, 43, of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, after a 3-year battle with leukemia. He is survived by his mother, Mary Belser; financee, Donna DeHaan; son, Tyler; sister, Joanne; brother, James; and nephew, James, all of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Belser; and Donna's grandmother. John was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to Grand Forks, ND as a child. He moved to Albuquerque in 1979. John owned and operated Belser's Tae Kwon Do. He was a 3rd Degree Black Belt and teaching children was his passion. John enjoyed fishing and he loved to travel. BRAVEMAN -- Morris Braveman, 89, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie. His survivors include his nieces, Roberta Natarus and Denise Waites; and grand nieces and nephews. Morris was a Colonel in the U. S. Army and proudly served in Europe during World War II as the Adjutant General in the First Division under General Patton. He was a past president of Congregation Albert and the Jewish Federation of Greater Albuquerque. Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Albuquerque's first greenhouse. BURROUGHS -- Lydia Ange Burroughs, 69, of Tijeras, NM, the youngest daughter of Lyman and Helen Ange, passed away at her home on Monday, July 26, 2004, after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband, Ed Burroughs of Tijeras; two sons, Michael Henderson and wife, Kay of Tijeras, and Gary Henderson and wife, Ann of Albuquerque; plus two grandchildren, Matthew Henderson and Julie Henderson, of Albuquerque. Also surviving are two sisters, Margaret Wolf of McCall, ID, and Martha Zutavern of Abilene, KS; an aunt, Betty Jo Manhart of Colorado Springs, CO; plus numerous nieces and nephews. Lydia was a friend to many and very close to all her family. She had a profound effect on the lives of everyone she knew. And it showed in all her life's interests. She was born in Albuquerque in 1935, four years after her parents moved their family from Orlando, FL. Mrs. Burroughs graduated from Albuquerque High School with the class of 1953, and later from Western School for Private Secretaries. She was employed by the F.B.I. and later assisted her late father in the operation of Ange Builders Supply. A Memorial Service will take place at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 3, 2004. CHAVEZ -- Jennie B. Chavez, 79, went home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2004. She was born on July 19, 1925 in Colorado. Mrs. Chavez was a member of the South Valley Church of God. She is survived by her son, Joe Segura; daughter, Faith Marie Arguello and Walter; brother, Donald Romero of San Francisco, CA; and grandchild, Jacob Varela. CHRISMAN -- Pat H. Chrisman, 74, formerly of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away on Monday, July 26, 2004 at Longmont United Hospital in Longmont, Colorado. His loving family was with him at the time of his passing. Pat was born November 2, 1929 in Nocona, Texas to Volney and Ina Chrisman. Mr. Chrisman was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Adeline Morris. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Anna Lois Chrisman; two sons, Steven Chrisman and Philip Chrisman and his wife, Michele Chrisman; a daughter, Kristy Reynolds and her husband, Dr. Bryan Reynolds; and his grandchildren, Connor Reynolds and Alexis Reynolds; and one brother, Dan Chrisman. Pat was a devout Christian who cherished God and his family. He and his wife relocated to Colorado from Albuquerque, NM three years ago to live close to their children and grandchildren. He retired from Civil Service for the U.S. Air Force and was a Master Mason and member of the Lions Club. Pat was a talented composer of music and poetry as well as an artist. His sense of humor will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry Street, in Longmont.

EICHWALD -- Alex H. Eichwald, 89, a longtime resident of Corrales, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2004. Alex was born August 31, 1914, the son of Aron and Isabel Cordova Eichwald in Cuba, NM. He had worked as a carpenter, plumber, worked in San Pedro, CA in the shipping yards during WW II. In 1949 he worked in Mexico in the Hoof and Mouth Disease Program for the United States Government. Upon his return from Mexico, he obtained his B.S. and later his M.S. in Education and taught for thirty years in Public Schools throughout New Mexico. Alex retired in 1977 to do Fly tying, fishing, wine making, Turquoise jewelry making, and painting. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Lawrence. Alex is survived by his wife of 66 years, Serafina; three sons, Chris, Ernest, and Thomas; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held this evening, Friday, July 30, 2004 from 7:00 pm. to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Service for Alex will be on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Presbyterian Church, Edith and Lomas, in Albuquerque, with Pastor Robert Woodruff officiating. FUNKE -- Dennis H. Funke, 64, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 23, 2004 with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife Barbara; brother, Bill Funke and his wife, Dorothy of Spokane, WA; sister-in-law, Phyllis Hill and her husband, Jack of Westminster, CO; and several nieces and nephews. GILES -- Ella C. Giles, 100, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004. She is survived by her sons, Jerome L. Giles and wife, Betty and John H. Giles and wife, Sandra, all of Albuquerque, and Donald L. Giles and wife, Bonnie of Estancia; four grandsons; one granddaughter; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Giles in 1982. Ella was born June 6, 1904 in Bonham, TX. She was the first child of Oris M. and Inus Norris. Inus passed away when Ella was 14 years old, and she quit school to help with the younger children and went to work in the Denison, TX cotton mill. Ella met Jesse L. Giles in Denison, and they were married October 5, 1929. Jesse retired from the wholesale grocery business. Jesse passed away in 1982, and Ella moved to Las Colinas Village Senior Center in 1988. Graveside services will be held Monday, August 2, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at Fairview Cemetery in Denison, TX. GOODSON -- Harriett Westfall Goodson, resident of Albuquerque since 1973, passed away on July 29, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Clifford Goodson, Jr. in January of 1982. She is survived by her son, H. Clifford Goodson, III of Albuquerque; her daughter, Sandra Goodson Lloyd of Beaver Creek, CO and Dallas, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sue Goodson; son-in-law Charles Lloyd; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and special caregiver, Shirley Chumley. Mrs. Goodson was born on July 11, 1911 in Geneseo, NY and lived mostly in the East and Colorado until moving to Los Alamos, NM in 1948. Mrs. Goodson attended Wells College in Ithaca, NY for two years before graduating from the University of Rochester, NY in 1933. She was a member of the Episcopal Church. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be in Colorado Springs, CO at the Evergreen Cemetery on August 24. If friends so desire, memorials may be given to a charity of their choice.

HADLOCK -- Howard M. Hadlock, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004. He is survived by his daughters, Judith Hadlock and Ruth Beck, both of Albuquerque; very special friend, Trish Reiley; and faithful and loving companion, Barkley. Mr. Hadlock was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby M. Hadlock. He was born in Hyer, New Mexico and was a son of a pioneer family. Mr. Hadlock was a member of the Scottish Right of Santa Fe, Hiriam Lodge #13, Zia Daylight Lodge #77, Order of Eastern Star, Past Associated Grand Guardian of Jobs Daughters and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. He retired from Sandia Base after 30 years of service. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Saturday, July 31, 2004 at 10:30 a.m., at Chester T. MILLS -- Howard E. Mills, 77, went home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2004. He was born on March 5, 1927 in Lemon, SD. Mr. Mills was retired from Duke City Lumber. He was a past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was a member of the Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Elisia Mills; his two sons, Robert Fredricks and wife, Cindy and family and Roy Mills and family; his daughter, Lavonda Poor's and family; step-daughter, Felicha Gonzales and husband, Antonio and family; brother, David Mills and wife, Darlene and family; sister, Marcella Smith and family; his grandchildren, Tony and Adrian Gonzales; and his great-grandchildren, Mari Gonzales, Tony Gonzales, and Avelino Gonzales. MONTOYA -- Mrs. Leonor C. Montoya, 83, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on July 28, 2004 peacefully at home with her family by her side. Mrs. Montoya is survived by her children, Maryann Saavedra and husband, Edmund, Minelba Abeyta, Joe R. Montoya, Mary Lou Duran and husband, Robert, Mary Beatrice Saavedra, Christopher Eloy Montoya and wife, Maria; one sister, Maria Miller and husband, Cecil; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; a special friend and cousin, Juanita Castillo. Mrs. Montoya was preceded in death by her husband, Jose S. Montoya; a son, Jose Maria Montoya; and a son-in-law, Dan Abeyta. Mrs. Montoya was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church for over 30 years. A visitation for Mrs. Montoya will be Friday evening, July 30, 2004 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Manuel Montoya and his wife, Eileen. TORRES -- Juan Torres, born August 25, 1923 in Los Angeles, California, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 . He was a resident of Albuquerque for 57 years, a parishoner of St. Francis Xavier Church, a union member and a WWII veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eloida Torres; daughters, Marina Duran and husband, Paul, Estella Sanchez, Annabel Romero and husband, John; sons, Henry Torres and wife, Cynthia, Robert Torres and Liz Martinez. He had ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Rosary will be held on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St NW. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 2, 2004 at St. Francis Catholic Church. WILLMON -- Tod A. Willmon, 40, a resident of Albuquerque since 1968, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, after a long courageous battle. He is survived by his parents, Bill and Pat Willmon of Albuquerque; sister, Billie Jo Brittain and husband, Rick of Albuquerque; nephews, Billy and Paul Brittain; and a host of friends. Tod was born in Chickasha, OK and moved to Albuquerque in 1968. He graduated from Eldorado High School in 1982. Tod's life touched many lives. He is an inspiration to many. Tod was a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Monday, August 2, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 3100 Morris NE, with Music Minister Wayne Pittman officiating.
