ALLEN -- The Honorable Frank H. Allen Jr., age 74, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2004. Frank was born in West Virginia on January 7, 1930 to Frank H. Allen Sr. and Katherine McNeer Allen. Survivors include his wife, Joanna McGuire-Allen of Albuquerque; the only daughter, Linley Allen, of Arlington, WA; three sons, John T. Allen and his wife, Patti of Redman, WA, David B. Allen and his wife, Kathleen of Albuquerque and Brad Denison and his wife, Cindy of Pagosa Springs, CO; and nine grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Frank H. Allen III; and Joan McKinnon-Allen. Judge Allen attended the University of West Virginia, and was a graduate of the University of Illinois School of Law. He was also a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Saturday, July 17, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. in St. John's Cathedral, 318 Silver Ave. SW. BALDONADO -- Dora L. Baldonado passed away on June 21, 2004. She is preceded in death by her husband, Boney Baldonado; and her daughter ,Grace Alba. She is survived by her son, Bonifacio Baldonado. CWYNAR -- Sister Mary Michael Cwynar, CSSF, August 14, 1909 - June 24, 2004 Sister Mary Michael Cwynar, a Felician Sister from Rio Rancho, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Provincial House. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Mary Victoria was the daughter of Victor and Eleanor (Zimirska) Cwynar. When Mary was five years old, the family moved to Chicago, Illinois where she began her education. After completing high school at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Chicago, she entered the Felician Congregation on May 17, 1928. Sister Michael spent 60 of her 76 years as a Felician Sister in active ministry. Sister ministered as a teacher and/ or principal in 21 locations in the states of Illinois, Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma, California and Texas. As a medical resource librarian she served in the states of Illinois, and Iowa. When sister retired from teaching at the age of 85, she served for the next four years as a library assistant at the provincial house in Rio Rancho. In 2000, sister devoted her time to prayer and a pastoral ministry to the sisters in the infirmary. Daily, she would spend time in reading to those who were no longer able to do so themselves, or share scripture and prayer. She brought joy to others with her cheerful smile and her jokes, which she had gathered through the years. Outstanding among the many gifts she shared was her gracious gratitude. Rosary services are scheduled for Friday, June 25, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Provincial House at 4210 Meadowlark Lane SE, Rio Rancho. The Mass of the Resurrection is scheduled for Saturday, June 26, 2004 at 9:30 AM at the Provincial House followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Albuquerque. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity Christian Center. HAFELY -- Hoyle Leon Hafely passed to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 16, 2004. Hoyle was celebrating his 80th year with gusto. His passing leaves behind a host of family and friends. Hoyle is survived by his wife, Jane Hafely; sisters, Lois Buchanan and Twila Whitmore; his son, Lee; daughters, Sherry, Shelly and Lynn; stepchildren, Gayle, Ed, Zoe, Janey, and Candy. Hoyle had 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to gather at the family home, Saturday, June 26, 2004 for continuing celebration of his life. A final Memorial will be held in Pagosa Springs, CO on Sunday, June 27, 2004. HERRERA -- Phillip J. Herrera, Jr., 20, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Monday, June 21, 2004. He is survived by his parents, Claudine and Phillip J. Herrera Sr. of Albuquerque; sister, Vanessa Herrera of Albuquerque; brother, Zachary Herrera of Albuquerque; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Virginia Archuleta of Albuquerque and paternal grandmother, Clorinda (Cora) Herrera of Albuquerque. Phillip is also survived by many cousins and other family members; many friends; and his girlfriend, Amber Minssen. He was a member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church. Phillip graduated from Cibola High School in 2002 and was attending TVI; he had a desire to work for the fire department. He enjoyed sports, especially basketball and hanging out with his friends. Rosary will be recited on Friday June 25, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. NW. MITCHELL -- Dorothy L. Mitchell was born and grew up in Clayton, NM on a homestead, graduating from Clayton High School. Her peaceful passing on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 , was the 48th anniversary of her marriage to T. "Jerry" Mitchell. They took up residence in Bombay, India. Returning in 1960 to Albuquerque, with moves to Shiprock and Gallup. She worked for Sandia Base in the early 1950's and beginning in 1961 went to work for the Social Security Administration, and worked there until her retirement. Their early retirement years were enjoyed at Cochiti Lake. Albuquerque again became home in 1999. Dorothy and Jerry enjoyed many wonderful trips and they collected many memories and great friends. She was a gracious hostess and enjoyed sharing her time and home. She is survived by her husband Jerry Mitchell; two children, daughter, Jerre Dee and husband, John Fitzpatrick; son, Ron Mitchell and wife, Sheri; five grandchildren, Chandra, Vanessa, Tom, Jacob and Evan; four great-grandchildren, Michael, Chelsea, Jenna and TJ; sister, Bea Bartlett; brother, John Henry Bartlett; and other nieces and nephews. MOLLEUR -- Earl D. Molleur, 69, a resident of Albuquerque, was born on October 29, 1934 in Seminole, Oklahoma and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 23, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; three children, Suzanne, Nancy and Jimmy; and two granddaughters, Julie of Maine and Sarah of Albuquerque. Earl will be missed dearly by his family and his friends and neighbors who he was always willing to help with a caring, lending hand. PIERCE -- David M. Pierce, 68, a resident of Livermore, CA from 1966 to 1979, Albuquerque since 1980, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, June 20 , 2004. David was born on March 3, 1936, in McPherson, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ester Pierce; and father, Gerald Pierce. He retired from Sandia Laboratory after 35 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Nora Pierce; sister, Joanne Todd of Boise, ID; sons, Greg and Tim Pierce; daughter, Julie Cooper; step-sons, Todd and Greg Houck; step-daughters, Cecilie Bodman and Tekla Giron; four grandsons, Ryan, Dylan, Cody, Billy; seven granddaughters, Rachel, Mary Caroline, Megan, Nova, Amber, Bianca and Veronica. His loving, humorous, spiritual perspective on life will be sorely missed by all who loved him. Service will be held at the First Church of Religious Science (250-1356) 3320 San Pedro N.E. PLETT -- Mr. Leroy (Lee) Plett went to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 24, 2004. Leroy was born in Turpin, Oklahoma on March 22, 1927, the son of Johnny and Marie Plett. He married Betty Ray on August 21, 1948. He graduated in 1949 from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and went on to receive his M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of New Mexico in 1964. Since 1955, Leroy worked as a Civil engineer for the Bureau of Reclamation and the US Army Corp of Engineers. Since retiring in 1982 he had become active in his community and his church, St. John's United Methodist Church, where they were members since 1955. His parents, wife Betty, son Mark, and brother Don preceded Leroy in death. He is survived by his son, Michael Plett and wife, Beverly of Chicago, IL, daughter-in-law, Miriam Plett of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Charlene (Plett) Hale and husband, Keith of Omaha, NE, Marie Plett and husband, Jason Korose of Miami, FL, Matthew Plett of Columbus, OH, Rachel and Joshua Plett of Albuquerque; three great-granddaughters; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was a loving father and grandfather. He will be missed very much by those who loved him. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 26th at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona St. NE. REMY -- Esther W. Remy, 93, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, June 20, 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Seligman and husband, Bruce of Albuquerque; son, Jack Remy of Seattle, WA; granddaughter, Melissa Vigil and husband, Michael of Albuquerque; grandson, Isaac Remy of Seattle, WA; and great-grandson, Noah Vigil of Albuquerque. SANCHEZ -- Tony P. Sanchez, 68, born August 27, 1935 and a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, June 24, 2004. He is survived by his longtime companion, Phyllis Jean; children, Dolly and Rick Otero, Jeannie Sanchez, Tony and Doris Sanchez, and Ralph and Laura Sanchez; grandchildren, Dorinda and Chad Wingenbach, Kaiani Otero, Crystal and Nivardo Olvera, Lupe Sanchez, Desiree and Brittney Sanchez; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Otero and Aaron Olvera; brother and sisters, Leroy Sanchez, Cinda Baca, Flora Trujillo and Sophia Delgado; half-sisters and half-brother, Sylvia, Mary Lou, Gloria, Julia and Johnny Ray. SCHOWERS -- Beatrix Schowers of Las Vegas, NV, April 14, 1926 to June 22, 2004. Services will be held on June 29, 2004. Beatrix Schowers, known to family and friends as Bea, Albuquerque resident for 39 years, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at St. Rose Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. Born in Manhattan, NY, April 14, 1926. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always wanted to help others. She married Robert Schowers on June 14, 1946. Preceded in death by her parents; and son, Raymond. She is survived by her husband, Robert of 58 years; daughter, Dena of Las Vegas; son, Bruce of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Casey, Mason, and Taylor of Las Vegas, and Annette, of New York. The family of the deceased asks that no flowers or other gifts of sympathy be sent, but, if friends wish, contributions can be made to the Diabetes Foundation in the deceased's name. SMITH -- Lou Ella Smith, age 60, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister was called home to be with our Heavenly Father and Savior, Thursday, June 24, 2004, while surrounded by her loving family. Lou Ella was born in Horten, KS, she was a recently residing in Rio Rancho with her children, and was formerly of Kiekapoo, KS. Lou Ella enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends; she was known as the "Bingo Expert", and if there was a garage sale going on, you could bet she'd be there. She will always be remembered has having a compassionate ear and heart to those you needed to bend an ear. Lou Ella is survived by her loving and caring husband, David Montoya; her wonderful children, Yolanda Montoya and husband Oscar Ayala, Jacob A. Montoya and Yolanda Lucero, and David K. Montoya and wife Amanda; seven precious grandchildren, Savannah, Amor, David III (Davey), Samantha, Karlee, Brittany (Brit), and Jacob Jr. (Wedo). She is also survived by her sisters, Judith Suina, Lena Belle Smith, Janet (Susie) Potto, Naomi Ruth Smith; her brothers, Roger P. Smith, Jr. and Roy H. Smith; numerous special nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members and friends. Lou Ella will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those who knew and loved her.
