BACA -- Lawrence Baca, 42, went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2004. Although he was a native of California, he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, which was his parent's birthplace. A sensitive and caring person, Lawrence was the primary caretaker for both parents. He dedicated most of his adult years caring for his parents until their deaths. Lawrence was a quiet, kind and shy person who loved reading and woodworking. He is survived by his son, James Baca; his sister, Hilda Baca; and his brother, Luis Baca; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews in Albuquerque, NM. A service will be held at San Isidro Mission in Sedillo, New Mexico on Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. with burial to follow. BOBROFF -- Mildred "Millie" Crockenberg Bobroff, 93, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, June 14, 2004. She is survived by her son, Jack Bobroff and wife Bettye; grandchildren, Jay and wife, Louise, Dana, Kip and his wife, Michelle, Michael, Kara and her husband, Paul Campbell; great grandchildren, Desiree, Jason, Matthew, Jackie B. and Reed; great-great grandchildren Naomi and Nicole; niece, Joan Crockenberg ; nephews, Dr. Alan Cantwell and Jack Crockenberg. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Henry "Bob" Bobroff and son, Bobby Bobroff. Millie and Bob met at Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital Medical School in New York City where Millie trained as a R.N. and Bob as a medical doctor. Upon completion of their training, Bob joined the Indian Health Service and they moved to the Walter River Indian Reservation in Nevada. Subsequent assignments included Indian Health Service hospitals in South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Albuquerque Indian Hospital, and the Laguna Acoma clinic. They also had military assignments at Sandia Base Hospital and Walker Reed Hospital as well as serving the coal miners in West Virginia. Millie enjoyed her involvement with the Our Lady of Fatima Parish, where she was a member of the Theresians, volunteering at the County Rehab Center with children, and over the years, her participation in bowling, golf, horseback riding, yoga and square dancing. Among her greatest loves were playing bridge, traveling, shopping, and enjoying her friends and family. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by those whose lives she touched for her love, great interest in others, friendship, class, generosity and courageous spirit. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Millie will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church at Lomas and Morningside, NE on Thursday, June 24, 2004, 3:00 p.m. with Fr. Francis X. Eggert officiating. BRANSON -- Lewis "Chuck" Branson, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died Saturday, June 12, 2004 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Martin of Roseville, CA and Kathy Doles and husband Paul of Seattle, WA; son, Tom Branson and wife Carla of Albuquerque; 9 grandchildren, Tammy and partner Donny, Nicholas and wife Casey, Betsy and husband Mike, Meghann, Willy and wife Aimee, Angela and husband Shane, Jeremy, Summer and husband Jim, Cheri and husband Mike; 11 great-grandchildren, Katarina, Jade Corrie, Chris, Aubrianna, Travis, Shea, Nicole, Laura, Brian, Justin and Brandon; sister, Betty Milstead and husband John of Medina, OH; brother-in-law , James Herbert Leach and wife Norma of Denver, CO and many other relatives and friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Esther, on October 3, 2003. He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on July 15, 1925. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Chuck was a salesman for Automotive Electrical Service for 25 years before purchasing Roadrunner Auto Supply, which he owned for 19 years. BROWNE -- Barbara Browne, 67, passed away on June 12, 2004, due to complications from an injury. Ms. Browne was raised in Braintree, MA and has lived in Albuquerque since 1978. She was an active member at St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church. Barbara was also a member of the Bear Canyon Senior Citizens' Center, with whom she loved to travel. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Martin of Albuquerque and Sharon Browne, of Edgewood; a sister, Mary Catto and husband, Anthony, of Braintree, MA; two grandchildren, Christopher and Tamra Martin; a niece, Lisa Litterio; and a nephew, Denis Catto. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mary Blair. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2004, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 431 Richmond Place NE. CARBAJAL -- Andrew Lee Carbajal, age 14, a resident of Belen and Los Chavez, passed away in Mexico, on June 10, 2004. Andy is a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He belonged to Our Lady of Belen Youth Choir and the Belen Middle School Choir. He was going to enter the 9th grade at Belen High in the fall. Andy belonged to Boy Scout troop #108 and achieved many badges and merits. Andy loved wrestling and playing video games with his Dad and friends. His sister was one of his best friends and they were very close. He was a kind, loving person, very compassionate and caring toward others. He was adventurous, daring and just loved to have fun. Andy was very spiritual for being so young and he truly loved the Lord. Andy is survived by his father, Andrew B. Carbajal; his mother, Donna M. Griego; one sister, age 13, Nichole A. COLLUCCI -- Charles Collucci was born on November 3, 1920, in Newark, New Jersey. He lived in New Jersey until 1940, when he enlisted in the service. He was stationed in Panama when the war started on December 7, 1941. He was assigned to Omaha, where he inspected B17 and B24 bombers before they were shipped overseas. Later he was assigned to Kirtland Air Force Base as a B29 ground crewman. He was also stationed in Victorville, California. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1945. He had additional training and assignments until his military career finished in 1953, when he was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. He served a short time working with the Fire Department, and then went back to work as a civilian employee at Kirtland Air force Base. As foreman of the 4929th test squadron model shop at Kirtland, he designed and constructed a device for handling radioactive materials to be used as a research tool. After his retirement, he lived in Albuquerque until his death. During the past 20 years of retirement he enjoyed good health and an active life. He traveled, and went on many ocean cruises. He enjoyed dancing, swimming, and being with friends and family. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Josie Collucci; three daughters, Cathy, Carol and her husband Elroy, and Barbara and her husband Jerry; one son, Frank and his wife Alice; three sisters, Marie, Clara, and Barbara; two brothers, Tommy and George; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Charles, Angie, Daryl, Bryan, Shane, Briana, and Cory. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2004 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited following the visitation at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 18, 2004, 9:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal PL. DANIELS -- Micki Churchwell Daniels, 51, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 13, 2004. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. All who knew her were blessed by her joyful spirit and kindness. She is preceded in death by her father, William F. Churchwell in 1982. Micki is survived by her husband, Steve Daniels of Ashland City, TN; daughter, Kelly and husband, Bennie Britt of Fort Wainright, AK; and precious grandchildren, Courtney and Bennie Britt. Also surviving are her mother, Frances Churchwell of Albuquerque; and sisters, Paula and husband, Larry Carey of Edgewood, NM and Carol and husband, Jim Harbinson of Parker, CO; dearly loved nephews and their wives, Adam and Bonnie Brewer of Albuquerque and Nathan and Sarah Brewer of Corpus Christi, TX. Born in Boise, ID, she started school and lived much of her life in Albuquerque. She obtained her Bachelor of Bus. Admin. from Wayland Baptist University. Micki enjoyed working with the Baptist Foundation of NM beginning in 1989. She was a loving caregiver to seniors and coordinated national tours for many Friends of the Foundation. She retired as Trust and Estates Admin. in 2001. She was a member of Sandia Baptist Church and enjoyed singing God's praise. A Memorial Service will be held at Sandia Baptist Church, 9429 Constitution Avenue on Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. We will miss her warm smile and sense of humor, and her love for all her family and friends. EHRLICH -- Jeanette Carolyn Ehrlich, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on June 12, 2004 in Garland, Texas. She was born on September 4, 1918 in Prescott, Arizona to Albert and Alma Nordgren Sharpe. Jeanette had retired from the Pacific Telephone Company as an assistance operator for many years. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Telephone Pioneers, and the Hug-a-Bear-Program. Jeanette was also an avid animal lover. She was a very loving mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe Ehrlich. She is survived by her son Gary Ehrlich and wife Carole of Garland, TX; sister, Cecelia Beyers of Burbank, CA; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. FLORES -- Santiago "Jim" Flores of Laveen, AZ passed away June 5, 2004 at the age of 74. He was born in Puerto de Luna, NM on September 6, 1929. He was a lifelong carpenter with a passion for team roping, polka dancing, and his family-devoted to "his girls". KELLIHER -- James Kenneth Kelliher died June 11, 2004 after a long illness. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1926. He entered the Army in 1944 and was sent to Officers Training School at Fort Benning, Georgia. World War II ended shortly thereafter, and he was sent to Okinawa as an officer handling on-loading and offloading of cargo vessels. Upon returning to this country, Mr. Kelliher attended the University of Missouri and was the top-ranking graduate of his school in 1949. He began a 35-year career with Westinghouse Electric Corporation, where he was a human resources manager in several Westinghouse divisions. His specialty, however, was labor relations, and he was considered one of the company's best contract negotiators. The union representatives did not always agree with him, but they admired him for his honesty and fairness. He was firm but still maintained their respect. Because of transfers within Westinghouse, Mr. Kelliher and his family lived in Pittsburgh, PA, Baltimore, MD, Fairmont, WV, and Livingston, NJ. In those towns he was on boards of many charitable organizations and enjoyed performing in local Little Theater productions. In 1995, Mr. and Mrs. Kelliher left their longtime home in Livingston, NJ and moved to Albuquerque. Mr. Kelliher became a board member of the First Unitarian Church, co-founded the northern New Mexico branch of the Funeral Consumer Alliance, and participated in Vintage Players performances. Mr. Kelliher was beloved by many, including his wife, Marion; and their children and spouses, Laurie Kelliher and Andrew Obelnicki, Daniel Kelliher and Pamela Hoopes, Casey Kelliher and Terry Schile; grandchildren, Henry and Nell Obelnicki, Caitlin and Fiona Kelliher; and Mr. Kelliher's brother, William F. Kelliher of Fresno, CA. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday morning, July 1, 2004 at the First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque. Following the service, a reception will be held at the social hall across the patio from the sanctuary. KILLICH -- George A. Killich, 90, went to home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 7, 2004. He was a longtime resident of Ann Arbor, MI and worked as a Scientific glassblower at the University of Michigan and later was owner of his own business, Superior Glass Apparatus. The last few years, he lived in Albuquerque with his daughter, JoAnn Collins and her husband, Paul. He is also survived by his sons, David and wife, Jean, and Kenneth Killich of Michigan; grandchildren, Diana Jones, Paul Collins, Dannette Killich, Scott Collins, and David Killich; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Nicholas Jones, Taylor and Myia Killich and Kylee and Barret Collins. LUJAN -- Edna Floy Lujan, a resident of Bernalillo, passed away on June 13, 2004. She was born on April 3, 1929 in Electra, Texas to Henry and Katie Mardell Owen. Edna cherished children, was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to hundreds, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Edna was preceded in death by her sons, Lynn and Johnathan. MARCHAND -- Lorette Marchand, 80, of Augusta, ME previously of Scarborough ME, died June 11, 2004 at Maine General Nursing Care - Glenridge. After several years in Portland, ME and Albuquerque, Lorette recently settled at Capital City Manor in Augusta before being debilitated by a stroke on May 19, 2004 four days before her 80th birthday. Lorette was born in Franklin, NH on May 23, 1924, to Leonce Marchand and Alphonsine Poirer Marchand, both originally of eastern Canadian provinces. Raised in NH and Northfield VT, the family settled in Ipswich, MA during Lorette's teen years. A January 1948 graduate of Boston's Peter Bent Brigham Hospital School of Nursing, she was then selected for her state to attend Brooke Army Medical Center's Field Service School Officer's course in Fort Sam Houston TX, completed April 1949. During this time she met her husband of 25 years, George Arthur Lopes, marrying on July 9, 1949. As an Air Force wife, she moved her children to places as diverse as Greece, Germany, Japan, FL, TX, ND, and LA. Divorced in 1975 while a resident of Fryeburg ME, she went on to pursue her bachelor's degree from University of New Hampshire in May 1976, and a few years later became a proud MSW alumna of University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in May 1979. Lorette embraced the many cultural and artistic offerings found in her ,travels. Family trips always included new museums and interesting restaurants; and many local symphonies and art museums counted her as an enthusiastic member. Saturday afternoons at home always meant the Texaco Metropolitan Opera broadcast, and her walls were adorned with original work by local artists. Throughout her life, Lorette made close friends who cherished her, as she cherished them. She maintained her lively wit and humor throughout her final days, and most recently enjoyed her birthday celebration with family. She is survived by her three children, Nadine Marchand of Mt. Vernon ME, Larry Lopes of Biddeford ME, and Lora Nielsen of Boston MA, and their families, including four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She also leaves her three siblings, Hilda Burke of Stafford Springs, CT, Leonce Marchand of Topsfield MA, Louis Marchand of Gloucester MA, and their families. She was predeceased in 1995 by her beloved son, Arthur Lopes of Albuquerque NM; and her devoted Maine coon cat of 18 years, Jalbert Marchand. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Allen Avenue Unitarian Universalist Church, 524 Allen Avenue, Portland ME. MCINTYRE -- Boleslo A. McIntyre, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret), 83, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, June 12, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Alice McIntyre; daughter, Maureen McIntyre of Albuquerque; sons, Gary of Albuquerque, Michael of Pomona Beach, FL., Timothy, Dennis, Shawn, and Avery all of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brothers David of Albuquerque and Craig of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Theresa Zamora of Denver, CO. Boleslo was preceded in death by his sons, Richard and Brian. He was a bombardier-navigator during WWII. After WWII he was a test pilot for Hughes and McDonald Douglas Aircraft Corp. After retirement he taught high school and was a football coach. He also owned restaurants in Albuquerque, Mori's and The Golden Tee. MELLONE -- Pearl Mader Mellone, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died on June 12, 2004, after a long illness. She was born on August 21, 1924 in Montreal, Canada. When Pearl was two years old, she and her family moved to Gloversville, New York. Pearl relocated to Albuquerque in 1966. She was retired from Sandia National Laboratories. Pearl is survived by two sons, Edwin J. Mellone and his wife, Linda and Mark G. Mellone and his wife, JoAnn; her grandchildren, Erica Mellone, Shanon Lehman and husband, Clark, Jennifer Mellone, Vanessa Mellone and Michael Mellone; and great-grandchildren Tyler Lopez and Kirk and Lance Lehman. MUFF -- Wilbert A. Muff, 89, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, June 14, 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Carole Case and her husband, Larry of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Kathy Lynn Case, Jean Ann Petmecky and her husband, Daniel of Albuquerque and Karen Christine Pino and her husband, Bill of Burleson, TX; and 4 great grandchildren, Alan, Michael, Loren and Ryan Petmecky all of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ethel on May 20, 1994. Wilbert was born June 25, 1914 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Karl Peter Muff and Anna Christina Eckert. On July 23, 1938 Wilbert married his sweetheart Ethel Irene Foytik, and later moved to Albuquerque in 1947. He was employed by Eidal Mfg. Co. for 28 years as purchasing agent until his retirement. Wilbert was an accomplished artist and photographer and was a member of the chess club. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in many capacities during his lifetime. NOSSOFF -- Bernice Celeste Nossoff (nee Guravitz), loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, educator, community activis friend. Born in Buffalo, New York, April 1, 1917; died April 8, 2004 in Mesa, AZ. Bernice taught grade school in Buttonwillow, CA and kindergarten in La Habra and Hacienda Heights, CA. Her experiential teaching methods won her professional recognition and led to her hiring by the University of California, Irvine to educate teachers. RISENHOOVER -- Laura "Libby" Risenhoover, 36, a resident of Albuquerque for eight years, died on June 14, 2004. She is survived by her husband of ten years, Loren Risenhoover of Albuquerque; two children, Hannah and Nathan of the family home; mother, Holly Shinault of Albuquerque; father, Ron Shinault and wife, Judy of Memphis, TN; grandmother, Olga Harris of Las Cruces, NM. RIVERA -- The Reverend Father Edward M. Rivera passed away Monday, June 14, 2004. He was preceded in death by his mother, Isabel Rivera. He is survived by his father, Lorenzo (Larry) Rivera; five sisters, Diane Rivera of Denver, CO and children, Pam Ybarra and husband, Herbert Glenn Sr. of Orlando, FL and children, Susan McKenna and husband, Todd of Phoenix, AZ and children, Anita Feight, husband, Larry and daughter, of Albuquerque, NM, Jennifer Randall, husband, Ryan and daughter of Albuquerque, NM; four brothers, Tony Rivera, wife, Kathy and children, of Albuquerque, Timothy Rivera, wife, Sandy and children of Farmington, NM, Steve Rivera, wife, Cathy and children of Las Vegas, NV, Robert Rivera of Denver, CO. He worked at Sandia National Laboratories before entering Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, CT. Fulfilling a lifelong dream, he was ordained a priest of God on June 7, 2003 by Archbishop Michael Sheehan of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe at St. Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe, NM, and assigned as Parochial Vicar to Risen Savior Catholic Church in Albuquerque. He celebrated his first Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church on June 8, 2003. Father Rivera loved his faith and his family. A fun-loving person, he enjoyed playing golf, winning at cribbage and beating his nephews in basketball at the park. He was dedicated to his family and to prayer. He had a great devotion to the Divine Mercy, our Blessed Mother, the Eucharist, and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. He was a powerhouse of prayer. During his year of service to Our Lord, the Catholic Church, his parishioners, and the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, Father Rivera touched and changed so many lives through his holiness, courage, devotion and strong will. Public visitation will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at Sunrise Funeral Options from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The Rosary service will be recited at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2004 followed by a Vigil of the Deceased at 7:00 p.m. The Liturgy of the Hours/Office of the Dead will be recited at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2004. SPRAGG -- Robert S. Spragg, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1982, died on June 14, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Spragg of Albuquerque; son, Brian Spragg and wife, Margaret of Newport Isle of Wight, England; daughter, Sandra and husband, Colin of Newport Isle of Wight, England; three step-sons, Arthur Holland of Phoenix, Daniel Holland and wife, Robin of Ft. STELZER -- Milton J. Stelzer, died at his home in Rio Rancho, NM on Sunday, June 13, 2004 following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife Lynn Roberson Stelzer, their daughter Lisa May and husband Gregory and his granddaughter Allison Lynn May. He is also survived by three siblings; Kathryn Everson and Kenneth Stelzer, both of Stoughton, WI and Lorin Stelzer of Bellingham, WA as well as their spouses. Milt was born on September 2, 1929, the firstborn to Milton F. and Mabel (Fritsch) Stelzer of Bloomer, WI. He was reared in Bloomer until his junior year of High School when the family moved to Stoughton, WI. He graduated from Stoughton High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 until 1955. He completed his higher education at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and ended in 1960 when he earned his PH.D. in Entomology. Milt moved to Albuquerque that same year and went to work as a research scientist for the U.S. Forest Service. Following their marriage in 1967, Milt and Lynn lived in Apia, Western Samoa for two years while Milt worked for the United Nations/South Pacific Commission. Their daughter Lisa was born there. In the 1970's, the Stelzers returned to the U.S. and resided in Corvallis, OR where Milt once again worked the next 21 years for the United States Forest Service. He retired in 1986. In 1991, they returned to New Mexico and settled in Rio Rancho. Milt's passion was golf, a game he played from early childhood until his illness kept him off of the golf course. He worked as a Marshal at Santa Ana Golf Course and became a golf rules official in the 1990's. He loved the challenge of learning and enforcing the rules at local tournaments. WARD -- David Ward, of Albuquerque passed away June 13, 2004 at the age of 35. David was born June 18, 1968. He was an employee of New Mexico Metal Systems. He was preceded in death by his father Danny Ward and his son Danny Ray Ward. David is survived by his wife Jeanette Ward of the family home, his three daughters, his mother Eva Hobbs, two brothers; Eddie Scrulock and wife Nina and Steve Scrulock and wife Connie, his uncle Joe Hobbs and wife Bonnie, his in-laws Ray and Magdalena Martinez, his goddaughter Desiree Garcia and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
