AGUILAR -- Antonia S. Aguilar, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1983 died Sunday, February 22, 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Fabie Solano and husband, Andy of Raton; son, Isidro Solano and wife, Mary Jane of Corrales; daughter, Maria (Timmie) Lujan and husband, Tony of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister-in-law, Dolores (Lola) Salazar of Bernal. Mrs. Aguilar was preceded in death by her first husband, Raphael G. Solano; and her second husband Cipriano Aguilar; three infant children and one great-granddaughter. Antonia was born and raised in Bernal, NM where she dedicated herself to raising her three surviving children. She was a hard working woman who worked as a school teacher, nurse and rancher in Bernal. Antonia lived her life to the fullest. She overcame many obstacles that came her way. She was devoted to the Catholic Church and remained active through her 92 years. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel, with Deacon Bob Lewis, reciting. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until time of Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos NW with Fr. Joe Vigil, celebrant. ALEQUIN -- Robert Alequin born in Bronx, New York November 26, 1958 and a resident of Albuquerque for the last 16 years went with our Lord Friday, February 20, 2004. Robert is survived by Krystie, Stephanie and Cynthia Alequin, daughters from Brooklyn, New York, daughter, Krystal and son, Robert Andrew Alequin. Special aunt, Kelly Thomas and very special cousins, Raymond and Rachael Thomas, all from Albuquerque. Special thanks to David and Tammi Griego for their unconditional love for Robert. FIELD -- Frances Irene Field, 75 a resident of Albuquerque since 1997, passed away on February 21, 2004. Loving and beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, daughter, granddaughter, and friend, she was born in Brooklyn New York on January 1, 1929, the daughter of Sylvia Lieberman and Israel Isidore Gitelman, immigrant refugees from Pinsk, Belarus. She graduated from the High School of Music and Art in Manhattan, was a lifelong devotee of music, and graduated from Long Island University, majoring in retailing. Married in 1949 to George W. Field, an immigrant refugee from Hungary, they lived in New York, with their two sons, Warren (of Chicago, Illinois) and Les (of Albuquerque). She and George lived in Nashua, New Hampshire after 1968, where she was a successful retailer, residential and commercial real estate agent. George passed away in 1985, and she stayed on in Nashua until 1997. In addition to her sons, she is survived by her brother, Jack and sister-in-law, Beverly of Brooklyn, NY; two daughters-in-law, Cheryl and Gia; and her five grandchildren: Steven (18), Joshua (15), Lukas (14), Simon (11), and Maia (9). Everywhere she lived, she contributed to her Jewish community and made lifelong friends. Services will be held at Temple Albert on Tuesday, February 24 at 2:00 p.m., internment to follow at the Congregation Albert Cemetery within Fairview Memorial Park. GRIEGO -- Christopher Alexander Griego, 19, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on November 19, 1984 in Albuquerque. Christopher lived in Lake Havasu City for five years, moving there from Sacramento, CA. For the past year he worked for Mission Linen in Lake Havasu City in the production department, and at J.B's Restaurant as a server. Chris is survived by his loving family, mother, Deborah Alexis Holm of Lake Havasu City; grandmother, affectionately known as "Granny" Theresa Griego of Albuquerque; grandfather, Alex Griego of Albuquerque; aunts, Dolores Sivertson and Elizabeth Krug, and uncle, Mike Griego, all of Albuquerque; aunt, Darlene Davis of Fernandina Beach, FL; uncle, Larry and aunt, Traci Casias and cousin, Michael Sean Griego, all of Albuquerque; and aunt, Patrika Griego. He will also be dearly missed by his 18 cousins. Christopher loved basketball, football, music, and especially cherished his mother, grandmother, and numerous friends. He was a special person with a big heart and his beautiful smile will be held dear to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. HARROD -- Betty B. Harrod, 85, a resident of Albuquerque for the past year, died on Saturday, February 21, 2004. She graduated from Russell Sage College and was employed at Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute for many years where her husband served as Dean of Students. She retired to Cumberland Foreside, Maine, and continued to help others, serving on the alter guild of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and volunteered at Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine. Betty is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ira E. "Joe" Harrod; son, Peter E. Harrod and wife, Anna; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Harrod Clark, James Harrod, Rachael Conti, Daniel Harrod and Gabriela Rose Harrod, and six great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, James Cathell Harrod. LOPEZ -- Mrs. Margaret Lopez, , a resident of Albuquerque passed away at home with her loving family at her side on February 21, 2004. Mrs. Lopez is survived by four daughters, Isabel Perez and husband, Eric, Dolores Alderete and husband, Richard, Helen Zambrano and husband, Ernie, and Jeannette Ayon; five sons, Nestor Zamora and wife, Mercy, Cereaclio Lopez Jr. and wife, Stella, Manuel Lopez and wife, Marie, Leroy Lopez, and Johnny Lopez and wife, Annie; one sister, Millie Cordova and husband, Bobby; three brothers, Frank Zamora and wife, Doris, Dennis Zamora and wife, Josie, and Danny Zamora and wife, Gloria; twenty-nine grandchildren and forty-six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lopez was preceded in death by her husband, Hereaclio Lopez and daughter, Susie Baca. Mrs. Lopez was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary was recited Monday evening in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel by Gabriella Nieto. A final visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 412 Stover Ave. SE, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Monsignor Gonzales. SLUDER -- Chester L. "Chet" Sluder, age 89, passed away Friday, February 20, 2004. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Zimmerman "Zimmy" Sluder and daughter, Shari Sluder. He is survived by son, Jim and wife, Marsha and granddaughter, Lisa of Dallas, Texas. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, February 21, 1914, the son of the late Judge and Mrs. James T. Sluder and graduated from San Antonio Academy and Texas Military Institute. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and entered the Army Air Corps in 1935 as a Flying Cadet. Receiving a Regular commission in 1939, he served 30 years in the Army Air Corps and Air Force. During World War II, Col. Sluder served in the headquarters of Gen. Jimmy Doolittle in North Africa and then commanded the 325th Fighter Group in combat. He led the fighter escort for the first shuttle-bombing mission from Italy to the USSR on June 2, 1944 and the southern France invasion in August 1944. During his military service, he graduated from the Air Corps Advanced Flying School at Kelly Field, TX, in June 1936 and from the Air University at Maxwell AFB, AL in 1951. He received several decorations and other commendations during his career. His European Campaign ribbon carries eight battle stars. Following his retirement from the USAF, Col. Sluder was employed as a commercial pilot in Albuquerque for several years. He was a member of the OX-5 Club, Quiet Birdmen, and Order of Daedalians. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple in Albuquerque. Graveside Services will be Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Memorial Service wil be Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Air Force Village I, Chaplain Jim Thompson officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials in Col. TREHARN -- Alex Lee Treharn, 17, born January 19, 1987, left us to be with the Lord on Friday, February 20, 2004. He had been a student with the Los Lunas High School. He was in ROTC in high school. Alex had been a member of the Valencia County Fire Department's Dist. 3 and Dist. 10, as a Junior Firefighter. He was wanting to help others and was an organ donor. Alex is survived by his parents, Robert and Janice Treharn of Los Lunas; sisters, Jerilynn of Los Lunas, and Eva Mathis and husband, Joey of Florida; brother, Gary Harris of Florida; grandfather, Robert E. Treharn of Albuquerque; grandparents, Dorothy and Albert Harkleroad of Los Lunas; grandmother, Dyanne McElroy, and the late Jerry McElroy of Los Lunas; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and friends. TRUJILLO -- Cordelia R. Trujillo, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully after a long illness, with her loving family by her side on Saturday, February 21, 2004 at age 83. She was preceded in death by her husband, Porfirio Trujillo Sr.; sons, Eremito, Porfirio Jr., and Johnny Trujillo; and daughter, Laura Limon Gallegos. She is survived by her children, Lydia Paiz and husband, Andy, Cirila Leal and husband, Richard, Gilbert Trujillo and wife, Ellie, Kathy Trujillo, and Chris Trujillo and wife, Irene; special friend, Santiago Perdomo; and many nieces, nephews and close dear friends. Cordelia was a member of the Catholic Church and active in Holy Family Sacred Heart League and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #2251. WALKER -- Frank, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, since 1975, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2004. Frank was born on January 21, 1922, in Raton, New Mexico, where he lived until graduating from high school. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943, served in the Pacific theater of World War II, and was honorably discharged in March 1946. He completed his education at the University of New Mexico, graduating with a master's degree in fine arts. He taught art at Valley High School for 18 years, taught art and photography for four years at New Mexico Highlands University, and retired in 1982 after serving as art curriculum director for the Albuquerque Public School district. In 1979, while hiking in the Ojito Wilderness Study Area in northwest New Mexico, Frank and two friends made the noteworthy discovery of dinosaur bones, later named Seismosaurus, which are housed at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History but are currently on exhibit in Japan. He was an accomplished artist, and in 2002 a one-man show of his work was held at the Coleman Gallery in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Sargent Walker.
