BENAVIDEZ -- Mark Anthony F. Benavidez. Our beloved son and brother passed away peacefully after a long illness on Friday, December 12, 2003. He was born on April 25, 1960 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was a lifelong resident. He is survived by his mother Mary Helen Benavidez - Dimas, Father Faustino Benavidez Jr. and wife Donna, two sisters Veronica Domingez, Stephanie Gaspar and husband Valentin, two brothers Paul Benavidez and wife Anna, Jacob Benavidez, one step brother Jeremy Lucero, two nephews B.J. Dominguez and Samuel Gaspar, one niece Gabriella Gaspar, one grand nephew Gabriel, uncles Abe Dimas and wife Ruth, Johnny Dimas, Andrew Dimas and wife Mary Lou, Orlando Benavidez and wife Carmen, Edmundo Benavidez and wife Antonia, Johnny Benavidez and wife Silvia, Ben Benavidez and wife Dolores, many cousins other family and friends who loved and will miss him. BRYANT -- Thomas Ray Bryant, 49, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2003. Thomas was of the Baptist faith. He was the city attorney of Bald Knob, Arkansas, and owner of the Bryant Firm with a promising future. Thomas was a well known throughout the Albuquerque, Bald Knob, and the entire state of Arkansas. Survivors include daughters April Bryant and Amanda Bryant, of Bald Ridge, AR; mother June Bryant Kirby and stepfather Richard Kirby of Albuquerque, NM; sister Jane L. Banes and husband Richard of Aztec, NM. He is preceded in death by his father Henry Bryant; brother Henry Lynn Bryant; and grandparents Alton and Sylvia Wilcox. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in the Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy, with Pastor Larry Moss officiating. Mr. Encinias is preceded in death by two sons, Michael Encinias and Anthony Encinias. He is survived by his wife, Concepcion "Concha" G. GALLEGOS -- Rose Gallegos, 77 Born 8-2-26 a life long resident of Albuquerque, Born in Tijeras New Mexico. Pasted away on Dec. 11 2003. Preceded in death by husband Felimon Gallegos, brothers Ponciano and Ismael Gutierrez and sister Elsie Gutierrez, she is survived by sister Celestina and Husband Jesus Garcia and brother Sosten Gutierrez and nine children Rosemarie and husband Joseph Chavez, Earnest and wife CeCe Garcia, Edward and wife Ellena Garcia, Jennie and husband Orlando Roybal, Virginia and husband Tony Archuleta, Kathy Martinez, Manuel Martinez, Diane and husband Phillip Lovato and baby boy Felimon Gallegos. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 17 great grand children. Pall bearer's will be grandson's Martin Garcia, Domacio, Anthony, and James Archuleta, Terry Barrett Jr. and Mario Marez. Rose was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed. Rosary services will be held on Monday December 15th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grand Catholic Church at 5901 St. Joseph Drive NW and Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 16th, mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, followed by burial services at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.

GUNTON -- Mildred I. "Millie" Gunton, 95, died December 7, 2003. She was born on January, 2, 1908 in Nebraska to Roy and Ruby Ireland. Millie was a co-founding member of the St. Marks On The Mesa Episcopal Church. She was a registered nurse, graduating from Wheatland General Hospital. Millie is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Gunton; and daughter, Lois Gunton Sale. GUTIERREZ -- Conrado P. Gutierrez, 84, died Wednesday, December 10, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Gutierrez; sons, Conrad F. Gutierrez and wife Dorothy, and Robert M. Gutierrez and his wife Tillie, all of Albuquerque; daughters, Ruth Aeschliman of Glastonburry, CT. and Jenny Lou Gutierrez and husband, Scott of Boise, ID; sister, Simone Sedillo of Denver, CO; brothers, Rev. Andrew P. Gutierrez and wife, Esther of Glendale, CA and Tino P. Gutierrez of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren, Tammi, Derek, Michael, Dominic, Steven, Stephanie, Damian and Devin; and great-grandchildren, Teya, Tristen, and Amber. Conrado was born in Socorro, NM on Saturday, August 4, 1919. He graduated from Menaul School in 1937 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at the University of New Mexico. Conrado then served as a 1st Lieutenant in World War II. After the service, he started his professional career, 3 1/2 years as a chemist at the Anaconda Copper Company in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, 29 years as a Research and Development Chemist at Los Alamos National Laboratory, 7 years as an Equal Employment Opportunity Officer at Los Alamos National Laboratory, and 1 year as interim president of Menaul School. Conrado was very active in all community, civic and church affairs. He was also very active in his church, at the local and national levels. Services will be held, Monday, 10:30 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church, 812 Edith NE. HAUSER -- Dean Arnold Hauser, of Albuquerque, NM, died on Friday, December 12, 2003. Mr. Hauser was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Lois Pearl Hubbard Hauser. His career included service in the Navy during World War II, and industrial Engineering positions with Boeing, ACF, and GE. Mr. Hauser is survived by his son, H.D. "Pat " Hauser and wife Sylvia; daughters, Dianne Hauser and Peggy Hauser; 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. HUDSON -- Christeen W. Hudson, 77, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, died Friday, December 12, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, George Hudson of Albuquerque; sons, Paul G. Hudson and wife, Cheryl Thompson, and George Leon Hudson and wife, Mae, all of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Tara, Carrie and Heather; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Geraldine Dickerson of Krum, TX, and Edith Lynell Airheart of Topeka, KS. Mrs. Hudson was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. KNIGHT -- Robin D. "R.D." Knight, 86, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque died Saturday, December 13, 2003. Mr. Knight is survived by his children, Fred Knight of Santa Fe, Patti Knight Hopper of Albuquerque, Rob Knight and wife Nancy of Albuquerque, Nancy Smart and husband, Rex of Kanab, UT and Diana Winter and husband, Doug of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Kristen Hopper, Ryan Hopper, Brad Clifton, Jeff Clifton, Scott Knight and Saxon Knight; three great-grandchildren and sister, Florence Puhara of California. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita A. Knight. Mr. Knight graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended UNM where he excelled in Track and Field and Football. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. Mr. Knight was President and CEO of L & P Building Supply Co. He was a member of the Albuquerque Country Club, the VFW, and the BPOE. METZGAR -- Alfonso Metzgar, a member of one of the South Valley pioneer families of Albuquerque, died December 5, 2003. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Prisca and daughter, Lillian Kenneson. He is survived by daughter, Dorothy Griego of Pittsburg, CA and husband, Franklin; daughters, Linda Trevarthen and husband, Michael, their children, Morgan and Kyle of Antioch, CA, Deanne Goddard and her husband, Robert, and their daughter, Sara of Philadelphia, PA. Natalie Kenneson-Bridwell, daughter, of Lillian of Albuquerque, her son, Mark Alan and his father, David Bridwell; nephews, Ivan and Gilbert Metzgar of San Francisco, CA, and many nieces and nephews of Albuquerque, NM. Alfonso retired as a Long Shoreman based in San Francisco, a well respected business man, strong supporter and contributor to Union Solidarity. He was also an avid gardener, traveled most of the world and considered both Albuquerque and San Francisco his home. Alfonso will be missed by many whether you knew him well or just met him once, he is someone you will never forget. He was one of the hardest workers you could have ever met, he was canning quince just two months ago when he suffered a stroke as well as a heart attack. PETERSON -- Donald W. Peterson, 78, died early in the morning of Dec. 12, 2003, with his immediate family at his bedside. A geologist and volcano expert, he worked for the U.S. Geological Survey. His research for his Ph.D. degree from Stanford University was conducted in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona. For many years he worked as Scientist-in-Charge of volcano observatories at Hawaii and Mount St. Helens. He had a lifelong passion for the outdoors, and was an avid hiker and birdwatcher. In 1997, after his retirement, he moved to Albuquerque. He and his wife joined the congregation of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he was an enthusiastic choir member. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Peterson; his daughter Karen Peterson and son-in-law Dwight Frankfather of Oak Park, IL; daughter Kristine Peterson and son-in-law Greg Ingwaldson of Albuquerque; son-in-law Stephen Herring of Tarboro, NC; and five grandchildren, Arwen Wilder, Vidrik Frankfather, Peter Herring, Julia and Derek Ingwaldson; his sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Norman Barker of Ireton, IA; and he was preceded in death by his youngest daughter Susan Herring. His memorial service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1100 Indian School Rd. NE, at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 16. PITTS -- Alex Tommy Pitts, died in his home under Hospice Care on Thursday evening, December 11, 2003. He was preceded in death by his father Alejandro Pitts and his half-sister Delcida Roach. Alex is survived by his wife Jane Pitts and their two children, Jared (19) and Cara (13) Pitts of Rio Rancho; his son Dean Pitts, and his adopted son Danny Pitts both by a previous marriage; his mother, Avelina Pitts of Albuquerque and his brothers Don Pitts and his wife Virginia and their son Dustin, Arnold Pitts of Albuquerque, Bobby Pitts of Albuquerque, and his sister Maria LaPierre of Albuquerque, and numerous nieces and nephews. Alex was born in Cuba, NM on September 19, 1943. He was employed by various retail businesses throughout his career. He was an active member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Rio Rancho. Alex will be sadly missed by his family and all of his many friends and relatives. Alex's family extends their gratitude to the professional staff who cared for him during his short stay at Presbyterian Hospital and to the dedicated Hospice Staff of Odyssey Health Care. RALPH -- Harriett Alma (Oles), born February 6, 1915 in Vaughn, NM, died Tuesday, December 9, 2003. She is survived by her sister, Constance Oles Ferguson of Tucson, AZ; numerous cousins, and loving caretakers, Mary C. Foster and Jim Latham. Harriett was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Oles; mother, Emma Kathleen (Hodges) Oles; brother, Charles who died in the Philippines in World War II; and husband, Kenneth F. Ralph, a Veteran of World War II. She graduated from Belen High School as an honor student and attended Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in El Paso, TX. Harriett was a longtime resident of Albuquerque, a member of Trinity Baptist Church, the Gold Star Wives organization, and VFW Auxiliary #401. ROBERSON -- Cecil T. "Robby" Roberson, aged 90, died in his sleep on December 9, 2003, at the Loving Light Center shelter care home in Rio Rancho, N.M. His wife Lucy preceded him in death a mere 100 days earlier. They had been married 64 years. Mr. Roberson was born and raised on a farm in northern Kentucky and graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Civil Engineering. The Robersons moved to Albuquerque in 1951 when he went to work for the U.S. Corps of Engineers. When he retired in the early 1970s, they moved to Rio Rancho. They were actively involved in several area churches, including Sombra Del Monte Christian Church, Harwood Methodist Church and St. Paul's United Church of Christ. He was a member of the Rio Rancho Host Lions Club and was a Mason for many years. Mr. Roberson is survived by his daughter Lynn Stelzer and her husband Milt, granddaughter Lisa May and her husband Greg, and one beloved great-granddaughter Allison May. Private services were held and interment was at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho. Arrangements by Vista Verde Memorial Park and Mortuary 892-9920.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Leo; sons, Bobby Sevieri, wife, Jane; Billy Sevieri, wife, Kaylene, David Sevieri, wife, Vicki; Gary Sevieri, wife, Vicky; Don Sevieri, wife Ann; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; brother, Ross and wife, Rosalie Rains; numerous nieces and nephews. Ann will always be remembered as a devoted, loving mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. Her affectionate nature, strong determination, and cheerful spirit will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her. SHANE -- E. Margaret Falk Shane, 98, a resident of Albuquerque for 28 years, died December 8, 2003. Born in Red Oak, IA on March 8, 1905, she lived most of her life in Des Moines, IA with her husband of 60 years, William D. Shane, Sr. Margaret is survived by her two sons, William D. Shane, Jr. and wife, Donea of Albuquerque, Richard F. Shane and wife, Peggy of Mystic, CT; three grandchildren, Rebecca McRoberts and husband, Mike of Glastonberry, CT, Craig L. SMITH -- Guadalupe Esther. Mrs. Guadalupe (Lupe) Esther Smith, 49, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on December 12, 2003. Lupe is survived by her beloved husband of thirteen years, Erick Smith; her father, Bonifacio Campos; three sisters, Mary Gallegos and Husband, Abie, Jeanette Lowe and husband, George, JoAnne Holder and husband, Jerry; three brothers, Joseph Campos, Mike Campos and wife, Bella and Manuel Campos; her mother in law, Edie Shiplet and husband, Vern; a special niece, Patricia Jensen; her Goddaughter, Virginia Rose; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was a very dedicated and loving wife and friend to all she knew and loved. Lupe was a member of the Catholic Church and recently retired after 25 years of service from the Albuquerque Police Department. Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW. STEINDORF -- Ruth Louise Rider Steindorf passed away on December 12, 2003 at the age of 80. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1923. Ruth lived in Medina, Ohio; Loveland, Colorado; and Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Marian Bolton and husband, David of Placitas and Holly Bergstrom of Medina, Ohio; grandchildren, Kevin Bolton, Heather Bolton, Susan Hoisington and Tom Bergstrom. Also surviving are six great grandchildren and her two sisters, Marguerite Smith of Medina, Ohio and Joan Winter of Las Vegas, NV. Mrs. Steindorf was preceded in death by her husband, Russell. In her younger years, she was a soprano soloist with St. Paul's Episcopal Church choir in Medina, Ohio and her love for music followed her throughout her lifetime. Ruth also had a great appreciation of nature and a talent for artistic expression. She enjoyed nature photography with her husband. Her home, her gardens and her flowers were of special beauty to her and to others. Ruth was a tireless volunteer throughout her lifetime with her church, the hospital, the library and the YMCA. Mother Ruth was endeared by all who knew her and she was known as a most welcoming, warm and caring Christian. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Memorial service will be held at the Cathedral Church of St. John in Albuquerque on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the YMCA of Albuquerque Endowment Fund, P.O. VALDEZ -- Bruno P. Mr. Bruno P. Valdez, 82, has gone home to the Lord. He was a proudly decorated WWII veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Valdez was very independent until the end. He is survived by three sons Alfredo Valdez, Manuel Valdez and wife Theresa and Peter Valdez; one sister Ramona Lovato; four grandchildren Roberta Valdez, Ina Fischer and husband Monte, Denise Chavez and Ken Valdez and wife Jennifer; four great grandchildren Breanna Fischer, Kaitlyn Fischer, Alexandra Chavez and Justin Valdez. He was a great father and friend and will be deeply missed by his loving family. A Rosary for Mr. Valdez will be recited on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. WROBLESKI -- Lucille Terese Wrobleski, 83 and a longtime resident of Albuquerque died December 11, 2003. She was born in Illinois to Frances and Anna Lucas on January 13, 1920. Lucille was a member of Risen Savior Catholic Community and a former resident of Sandia Springs and The Summit. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward R. Wrobleski and daughter Sharon Wrobleski. Lucille is survived by her daughter, Linda Golden and husband, Robert "Bob" of Albuquerque; sisters, Jean Stronczek of Trevor, WI and Mary Ann Cullen of Palos Heights, IL; brothers, Robert "Bob" Lucas and Frances "Frank" Lucas both of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Richard Golden and wife, Tammy of Stafford, VA, James Golden, Laura Salazar and husband, Matt and Lisa Golden, all of Albuquerque; and great grandchildren, Christine and Ricky Golden of Stafford, VA.
