ANDELONA -- Corine Andelona, 76, of Albuquerque died Saturday, September 27, 2003 at United Medical Center-West in Cheyenne, WY. She was born April 7, 1927 in Hagen, NM and had lived in New Mexico for 26 years with prior residence from 1945 to 1968 in Cheyenne. Mrs. Andelona was a bookkeeper fro Bestway Builders. She was a member of Good Shepard Church. Mrs. Andelona is survived by son, Robert Hernandez of Cheyenne; two daughters, Margarite Provencher and Carol Morales both of Albuquerque; brother, Donald Romero of California; sister, Jennie Chavez of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Ramon Hernandez and Thomas Andelona; son, Ray Hernandez; and parents, Valentino and Magdalena Romero. Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

AUSTIN -- Arnold. Lt. Col. Arnold D. Austin, U.S. Air Force, Ret'd., 78, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, September 26, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Loma Austin; daughter, Beverly Renee Mercer of Lincoln, NE; son, Charles Edward Austin and wife, Kelly of Pittstown, NJ; grandchildren, Zachary Blume, Josh and Ashley Austin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers; and one sister. Mr. Austin was a longtime member of Paradise Hills United Methodist Church. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 30 years. He was a Navigator with the 8th Air Force in England during WWII. Following the war, he served with the U.S. Air Force Intelligence in Okinawa and Guam. He was a BSF Instructor for 9 years. Memorial Service will be Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at Paradise Hills United Methodist Church, 4700 Paradise Blvd. NW. Cremated remains will be interred at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM at a later date. BARNES -- Billy Barnes, 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1968, died Thursday, September 25, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Barnes of Albuquerque; brother, J.T. Barnes of Pace, FL; sister, Wara Barnes Voss and husband Bill also of Pace, FL; sister-in-law, Lessie Henderson Barnes of Pensacola, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mattie Barnes; sisters, Clara Barnes Lloyd, Onie Barnes Wall, and Eva Barnes Harter; brothers, Son Barnes and Watson Barnes. Billy retired from the USAF in 1967 after serving 20 years where he was a motion picture camera technician. He also served three years in Greenland. After retirement, he worked in Civil Service at Eglin AFB. He then started Barnes Camera Repair in Albuquerque. He was a long time member of St. John's United Methodist Church. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans in Albuquerque and EDEKER-DUBOSE American Legion Post 121 in Jay, FL. He was also a Master Mason. BOURCIER -- Susan Carol Bourcier, 41, Corning, NY formerly of Albuquerque died September 27, 2003 following an 18 month battle with cancer. Susan did post graduate studies at Los Alamos National Laboratory where she was a Research Assistant from 1986-88. She married Roy Bourcier November 28, 1987 in Albuquerque. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Maxwell E. and Gabrielle M.; parents; four sisters; and two brothers. Calling hours are Thursday from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home Inc., 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning. CHESNUT -- Roy N. Chesnut, 83 a resident of Albuquerque for 39 years, died Thursday, September 11, 2003 after a long illness. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Weinlein and husband, John of Cedar Crest, NM; son, Richard Chesnut and wife, Cindy of Arlington, TX; sisters, Juanita Martin of West Plains, MO, and Anna Jane Roe of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Tiffany, Paul, Brittany, Sharon and Kirt; three great-grandchildren, Stasia, Justine and Skylar; numerous nieces, nephews, and special Chesnut and Schiller in-laws; and many dear friends. Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances; three brothers, Gene, Chuck, John; and sister, Melba. Roy has been taken to be buried next to his wife in Grundy Center, IA. Roy was a salesman and manager for the Fuller Brush Co. in his early years in four states, Iowa, Nevada, Texas and New Mexico until he retired after 25 years with the company. For several years after, he sold commercial advertising and then managed apartments for six years. In his later years, he sold Chem Guard protection products until his official retirement in November 1997 at age 77. He was a special husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed and loved by all.

FALLON -- John T. "Jack" Fallon, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, died Sunday, September 28, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Hazel Fallon; son, Steve Fallon of Dallas, TX, daughter, Jan Young and Jack Savay of Sherman Oaks, CA, grandsons, J.P. Fallon of Bedford, TX, Greg Fallon of Charlotte, NC and granddaughter, Deirdre Zube of Greentown, PA. Jack was a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder and was a professional engineer having worked for Westinghouse, Goodyear Aircraft, Rio Grande Railroad and retired from the Federal Government, Defense Atomic Support Agency after 25 years of service. During those years Jack traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia. Jack enjoyed collecting and restoring automobiles. FARMER-BETTIS -- Judine Willburn Farmer-Bettis born August 28, 1914, continues her life with God. Mrs. Farmer-Bettis was raised by her grandparents and sister, Ethyl; and brother, Lynn. Judine married Jack H. Farmer, Sr. in 1932. Mr. Farmer precedes her in the journey ; as well as her siblings and her beloved mother-in-law, "Pearl." Always full of fun and honest conversation, she was a delight for her son, Jack Farmer, Jr. Judine married Aldon Bettis in 1997 and lived in Duncan, Arizona, until her illness in 1999. Judine is mother to Jack and his wife, Nisa; and her dear adopted daughter, Debbie Katsch; and grandmother to Leslie, Lissa and Lindsie. The nieces and nephews of Mrs. Farmer-Bettis gave her happiness and she treasured their company. Thank you, Judine, for your laughter and your courage. Your journey will be filled with love. GILLOGLY -- Louise M. Gillogly, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, September 28, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Gillogly; son, Greg and wife Michelle Gillogly of Highland Village, TX; daughter, Kathy Peter of Albuquerque; son, Tim and wife Mary Gillogly of Spring, TX; granddaughters, Jackie and Emily Peter of Albuquerque; and grandson, Gabriel Gillogly of Humbolt, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. P.V. Gottschalk. Louise was a long time resident of Albuquerque, born and raised in Hays, KS. HANSEN -- Martin Woodrow Hansen, 88, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, September 26, 2003. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen A. Hansen on April 29, 1995. They had been married 55 years. Mr. Hansen was born on December 19, 1914 in Chicago, IL. He worked at Sandia National Laboratories for 21 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Temple #6 and Ballut Abyad Shrine Center in Albuquerque. HERRERA -- Mr. Carlos P. (Charlie) Herrera, 71, a resident of Albuquerque was called home to be with our Lord on September 27, 2003. Mr. Herrera passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family. Mr. Herrera was born in Santo Nino, New Mexico on October 5, 1931. Mr. Herrera battled stomach, liver and pancreatic cancer for nine years. Mr. Herrera was married on November 28, 1949 in Santa Cruz, N.M. to his loving wife of 54 years, Martha Herrera. Mr. Herrera is also survived by one daughter, Veronica Monthan and husband, Bill; four sons, Toby Herrera and wife, Bernice Aragon, Carlos P. Herrera Jr. and wife, Helen Peterson, Dan Herrera and wife, Sylvia Romero, Gil Herrera and wife, Cynthia Villareal; his siblings, Juanita Valdez of Albuquerque, Isifredo Herrera of Provo, Utah and Mela Cameo; his in-laws, Amada Herrera of Espanola, Lourdes Herrera of San Ramon, Ca., Juanita Vigil of Denver, Ignacio and Josie Trujillo of Arroya Seco, Dionicio and Clara Trujillo of Albuquerque, Margaret and Joseph Rodriguez of Santa Fe, Helen and Frank Ortiz of Albuquerque; 15 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Herrera is preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Ramoncita Herrera; two brothers, Leo Herrera and John C. Herrera. Mr. Herrera was a member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church for 45 years, Mr. and Mrs, Herrera enjoyed dancing and they led hundreds of wedding marches for newly weds and for church fiestas all over New Mexico. He was employed by Super Service Station and Tire Co. Inc from 1956-1988 and with U.N.M. until 1993. A Visitation will be Tuesday evening at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Terry Vargas. A final Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Reverand Joel Garner, O. Pream. Honorary Pallbearers will be, JoAnn Herrera, Cathy Herrera, Suzan Chavez, Ken Sanchez, Lee Perea, Peter Gonzales, Shirley Villasenor and Arthur Herrera. HERVEY -- Harry Clinton Hervey, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, September 26, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Leah O. Hervey; daughters, Diane Herrold and husband, Jon of Harrisburg, PA, Trudy Merriman and husband, David of Albuquerque, Charlotte Jeanne Romig and husband, William of North Pole, AK and Susan Kauffman of West Palm Beach FL; son, Guy Kauffman of Albuquerque, NM; and several grandchildren including grandson, Joshua Merriman of Albuquerque. Mr. Hervey served in the Normany Campaign during WWII. He settled in Harrisburg, PA after the war until 1960. Mr. Hervey operated and owned a machinist and welding shop. He was a member of the RLDS Church. Mr. Hervey was a life member of the VFW, DAV, and American Legion. JOHNSON -- Shirley Ann Johnson, 73, passed away on September 27, 2003 in Albuquerque where she had resided for the past 15 years. She is survived by Kelley Johnson, her husband of 44 years; son, Paul Johnson of Albuquerque and wife, Julie; and daughter, Sheila Bender and husband, Gary of Tijeras, NM. She is also survived by one sister, Macy Louise Boyles of Brady, TX; Henry E. Falkner of San Angelo, TX, Riley G. Falkner of Abilene, TX, John K. Falkner of Lovington, NM and Robert Falkner of Longview, TX; Six grandchildren, Chad Beal of Santa Ana,TX, Joe Beal of Albuquerque, Cassandra Bender and Crystal Hernandez both of San Antonio, TX, and Cody and Casey Johnson of Albuquerque; and six great-grandchildren. Shirley was born in San Angelo, TX and graduated from high school in Cross Plains, TX in 1947. She was a daughter of the late Rev. Henry V. and Macy Falkner. She was employed in Cross Plains at Citizens State Bank and Higginbotham's Department Store, later moving to Lubbock, TX, then to Austin, TX in 1953 and was employed at the state comptroller's office as a bookkeeper. She later lived in west Texas and Hobbs, NM where she taught children and youth in Bible study classes for ten years. She and her husband moved to Albuquerque in 1988. Until her illness, Shirley was an active member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and played weekly at Bear Canyon Senior Center. She loved her family and entertained them regularly in her home. Always smiling and trusting in Jesus, she fought a brave battle against ALS. She was an inspiration to every one around her. Services and burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at Walker Funeral Home in Coleman, TX. LING -- Mr. Clyde Joseph Ling, 82, a resident Arizona and formerly of Albuquerque passed away on September 25, 2003. Mr. Ling is the beloved husband of 32 years to Mrs. Phyllis Ling. Mr. Ling is also survived by three daughters, Judy Sifford, Barbara Davis and husband, Ross, Leslie Polychrones and husband, Tim; one son, Steven Jurgens-Ling and wife, Adele; seven grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. Mr. Ling was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. A Memorial Service will held Thursday evening, October 2, 2003 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel at 7:00 p.m. by his son, Pastor Steven Jurgens-Ling. MAESTAS -- J. Mike Maestas, 53, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away September 27, 2003. He is survived by his wife of three years, Benita Maestas; daughter, Paula Maestas-Adams and husband, Mike and granddaughter, Alyssa; son, Michael Maestas; stepsons, Tyler and Travis Swisher; brothers, Steve Maestas and wife, Noreen, David Maestas, Paul Maestas and wife, Camelia, and Gerald Maestas; sisters, Cecilia Lucero and husband, Louis, Theresa Maestas and Jessica Hargrove. Mike was a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a degree in architecture, and spent his life working in the banking industry. He served the community by being on several boards, including the Anderson School of Management and New Mexico Zoological Society. Mike was an avid golfer with a six handicap. MOFFETT -- Barbara Moffett, 91, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2003. She waited to join her husband Robert Lee Moffett, on their 68th Wedding Anniversary. Barbara was born December 20, 1911 the daughter of Eutimio and Olympia C de Baca Mares in Albuquerque. She was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, the Felician Sisters Ladies League, and she taught CCD. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1988. She is survived by nine children, Regina Nelson and husband, Lawrence, Rosemary Langley and husband, Monroe, Isabel Samon and husband, Lee, Estelle Cartledge and husband, Albert, Betty Carlson and husband, Fred, Raymond Moffett and Carol Bewley, Barbara Toroni and husband, Dennis, James Moffett, Theresa Sandoval and husband, Ray; one sister, Antonia Mares; 28 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren. PARKER -- Martha J. Williams Parker, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, September 28, 2003. She was born on July 25, 1917 in San Angelo, TX, the daughter of Manly Johnson and Eulalie (Bosley) Johnson. At the age of 12, she moved to Albuquerque with her parents. Mrs. Parker was a charter member of Heights First Church of the Nazarene. She was employed by Sandia National Laboratories for 29 1/ 2 years. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Roger C. Williams. She is survived by her current husband, Vern Parker; one daughter, Loretta L. Rugh and husband, Dick Rugh; two granddaughters, Joetta Dee Brooks and husband, Randy and Jerri Lee Teagarden and husband, Bradley; four great-grandchildren, Jay Moore, Daniel Brooks, Henry Teagarden and Emily Teagarden; and one sister, Marguerite Phillis. RIVERA -- Rita Marie Sisneros Rivera, age 62, passed away September 22, 2003 at the Albuquerque Regional Medical Center from complications of cancer. Rita was born November 27, 1940 in Las Vegas, NM to the home of Ramon D. and Vicenta Romero Sisneros. She was reared in Colonias and attended schools at Santa Rosa. Rita married Gerald A. Rivera on October 1, 1960. She loved painting, drawing, flowers, interior decorating, walking, nature, gardening, dancing and cleaning house. She was a member of Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church. Rita was the best wife, mother, nana and sister that anyone could ever asked for. She will be greatly missed by all. Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Vicenta Sisneros; son, Giovanni Rivera; brother, Ramoncito Sisneros; sister, Vita Lucero; mother and father-in-law, Mary and Librado Rivera. Survivors include her husband, Gerald A. Rivera of the family home in Santa Rosa; daughters, Deadra Rivera Apodaca and husband, Johnny of Albuquerque, Darlene Taylor and husband, Robert of Denver, CO, Denise Rivera of Albuquerque, Desiree Rivera Lewis and husband, Jess and Doreen Rivera Ulibarri and husband, Peter of Rio Rancho; ten grandchildren John Eric, Andrew, twins Tre and Thad, Nasticia, Leticia, Faustina, Steven, Phillip and Stephani. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. from Santa Rosa De Lima with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa. ROBLES -- Georgia Robles, 72, a life time resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, September 27, 2003. SOLIS -- Sylvia Ozanich Solis, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, September 26, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte M. Smith and husband, Robert W. Hilke; son, Joseph (Joey) A. Solis III and wife, Bobbie; grandchildren, Kathleen M. Carnell, Wendy Dial, Monte Smith, Joseph "Tony" Solis IV and wife, Michele, and Kyle Solis; great-grandchildren, Brian, Dale & Darren, Krystle, Amber, Matthew, Joseph V, and Joshua; great-great grandchildren, Lauren, Christian, Ashleigh Sylvia; brother, Anthony A. WEBB -- Randolph "Randy" Webb, 75, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away suddenly at his Rio Rancho, home on September 27, 2003. Randy was born on May 15, 1928 in Memphis, TN. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army. Randy was a member of the Shriners and of the Rio Rancho Elks Lodge #2500. He was the owner and operator of A & R's Home Entertainment and American Rents in Albuquerque. His passion was watching all kinds of sporting events and cheering on his Dallas Cowboys. He was fond of fishing, hunting and golf. Randy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Adina; children, Phyllis Webb of Benton, AR, Bob Makin of Littlerock, AR, Bill Odell Makin of Rio Rancho, NM, Renna Robles and husband Will of Concord, CA, Ronnie Webb of Rio Rancho; sisters, Anna Louis and Mary Catherine; brother, Bill; and his only grandson, James Makin or Rio Rancho. WILKINSON -- Linda Painton Wilkinson, 76, passed away on September 24, 2003 after a brief struggle with cancer. Born on August 21, 1927, she is survived by her husband of 46 years, Scott Wilkinson of El Paso, TX, two daughters, Jean Martinis of Boulder, CO and Ann Elizabeth Wilkinson of Los Lunas, NM, a son-in-law, John Martinis, two grandchildren, Scott and Stephen Martinis, two sisters, Mary Wall of St. Louis, MO and Christine Hodges of Oran, MO, one brother, Albert Painton of Painton, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Bess and Herbert Painton, and one brother, Don Painton, all of Painton, Missouri. Linda had a long and varied career as a teacher, secretary, craftsperson, and public servant. She started working in 1944 as a school teacher in Missouri, later moving to New York City where she worked as an executive secretary until her marriage. After their children were born, Scott and Linda moved to Albuquerque, NM where they owned and operated The Music Mart. Linda was an active craftsperson in the late 1970's and early 1980's, creating and selling hand painted ceramics in regional crafts shows and specialty shops. Before retiring, she worked as Chief Deputy County Clerk in Valencia County, New Mexico, and was elected to one term on the Valencia County Commission. Linda served in numerous civic, political, and church organizations in New Mexico and El Paso. She volunteered countless hours in organizations which assist the homeless and victims of domestic violence. Linda was also a past president of Keep New Mexico Beautiful, and an ordained Elder in the Presbyterian Church. WINEGAR -- Martha Lucille Winegar, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, passed away on September 28, 2003. She is survived by her two daughters, Marian Sue Pritchard of Denver, CO and Donna L. Winegar of Albuquerque; one granddaughter, Shannon Pritchard of Athens, Georgia; twin sister, Marcella L. Winegar and husband, William of Albuquerque and other family members. ZIMMERMANN -- Karl Herman Zimmermann, a resident of Albuquerque, NM from 1950 to 2001, died on Friday, September 26, 2003, rejoining his wife Helen Hertel Zimmermann. He was 92. The past three years he lived in Kessler Village in Chatham, NJ to be near his daughter, Dr. Carol E. Zimmermann-Joyce. He is also survived by his brother, Col. William E. Zimmermann USAF (ret) and family of Amarillo, TX; and many beloved nieces, nephews and step-children. Karl and Helen Zimmermann were graduated from New York University in 1933 and married in 1937. Karl had a varied and interesting life. Graduated in the mist of the depression as an engineer, he worked as an electrician and supplemented his income by pursuing his avocation of drummer in a vaudeville troupe that took him to upstate NY and Canada. He played the palace theater in NY, a dream of every Vaudevillian, with the Russian Revels in 1933. He moved to Nutley, NJ and took a Job as an electrical engineer with Phelps Dodge. In 1950 Karl moved with his wife and daughter to Albuquerque, NM. He was an electrical engineer for Sandia Laboratory Corp. and was heavily involved in the development of atomic weapons, witnessing atomic test explosions at White Sands. While living in Nutley he was a drummer in the Nutley Symphony Orchestra. When he moved to Albuquerque he was a drummer in the Albuquerque Civic Symphony and Municipal band. In 1972, after retiring from Sandia Laboratory Corp. he was appointed as electrical supervisor for the City of Albuquerque by Gov. Bruce King. After retirement in '88 he volunteered at Zia Elementary School 4th grade helping the children with computers. He taught drum lessons. He also gave lectures and wrote articles on electrical code violations. Karl was a member of the Professional Society of Engineers, and was registered as a professional engineer in New Mexico and New York.
