Andrews -- Frances Jeanette Andrews died Saturday, August 2, 2003 at her Crabtree residence she was 92. Frances was born February 28, 1911 in Kansas City, Missouri, the eldest of three daughters born to parents, William Chester and Blanche Louise (Pinkston) Newby. Nicknamed"Hank" by her youngest sister, Frances favored the name throughout her life. After graduating from high school in Compton, California, she studied business administration and began working in public relations for Sears Roebuck and Company, traveling often to Chicago and New York. Frances married Willard Harold Andrews in Los Angeles on July 15, 1944. Retiring shortly after World War II from Sears as a regional personnel manager with 25 years of service, Frances became the personnel director of the Southern Union Gas Company of Albuquerque, New Mexico, living in nearby Rio Rancho. Always enjoying traveling, she began to vacation throughout the world. Retiring from the gas company in the late 1970's Indonesia became her favorite travel destination; she returned there every year for the last 20 years. An accomplished seamstress, she enjoyed cooking, reading history, and keeping up with current events. After Willard died in February of 1989, Frances came to live with niece, Louise in Crabtree, OR in January of 2002. Frances enjoyed helping Louise in her garden, and just liked to see all the green of the mid-Valley. Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Sorrell, of Bakersfield, CA; daughter-in-law, Nancy Andrews of Vacaville, CA; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; and Grey Howell of Sante Fe, New Mexico, who was like a son to her. In addition to husband, Willard, Frances was preceded in death by son, Gordon Andrews in December of 1974; and sister, Alice Elizabeth Dorsett in January of 2000. A graveside inurnment service will be held at the Sante Fe National Cemetery at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2003. AAsum Funeral Home of Albany is in care of arrangements.

Jaramillo -- Lupita V. Jaramillo, 89, a resident of El Cerro, New Mexico passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2003. She was a member of Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church in Valencia, NM, Legion of Mary, and Our Lady of Guadalupe Sewing Committee. Lupita enjoyed sewing for her family, her beloved church, and the Altar Society. For many years, she assisted her husband in the operation of a dairy farm. She is preceded in death by her husband, Max Jaramillo in 1976; sisters, Dulemia Aragon; and Rosina Vigil; brothers, Estanislado Vigil; and Joseph Vigil; and granddaughter, Braylene J. Jaramillo. Lupita is survived by her children, Lillian Otero and her husband Lorenzo of Albuquerque, NM; Sylvia Jaramillo Moya; Eugene Jaramillo, both of El Cerro; Vivian Jaramillo and his wife, Judy of Mesa, AZ; Benny Jaramillo and his wife, Bernadette of El Cerro; Fred Jaramillo and his wife, Alma of El Cerro; sixteen grandchildren, Loren and Lynn Otero; Yvonne, Brian, Danielle, and Dion Jaramillo; Michele Ashley and her husband, Levi; Brandy Ortiz and her husband, Patrick; Brandon Jaramillo and his wife, Jackie; Breanna Fisher and her husband, Justin; Neil Jaramillo and his wife, Nadia; Joel Jaramillo and his wife, Cristina; Mara Jaramillo; and Max, Irene, and Paul Moya; eight great-grandchildren, Bryce and Cora Jaramillo; Levi and Anderson Ashley; Joshua and Isaac Ortiz; and Austin and Kylee Jaramillo. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and caretakers. All services will be held at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. and will follow with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with interment following at the Valencia Catholic Cemetery. Lucero -- Procopio Lucero, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away after a short illness on Monday, August 11, 2003, a month prior to his 92nd birthday. He is survived by his daughters, Isabel Lucero Cummings of Los Alamos and Felo Cortez of Albuquerque; son, Luis Lucero of Mesa, AZ; grandsons, Bob Cortez of Albuquerque, Chuck Cummings of Los Alamos and Mark Lucero and wife, Yvonne of Phoeniz, AZ; granddaughters, Celia Cortez-Gentner and husband, Tom of Santa Fe, Karen Young and husband, Dan of Los Alamos and Angela Lucero of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Eloisa Alires and Romona Gonzales, both of Albuquerque, Antonia Martinez of Santa Fe and Lucia Flores of California; and three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Geovonni and LaReina. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eusavia Lucero, in 1976. Mr. Lucero was born to Rumaldo and Catalina Lucero on September 11, 1911. Formerly of Santa Fe, he retired as a plumber from Zia Co. in Los Alamos in 1977. He was a member of NM Pipes and Trades Local 412, for over 50 years. He was also a member of Union Protectiva. Mr. Lucero had a great sense of humor, was loved by all, and had a close relationship with God, his family, friends and the earth. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, August 12, 2003, at 6:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd, Chapel. Moss -- Norma Carol Moss, 50, a resident of Bosque Farms, died peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2003. She taught pre-school at Jellybean Day Care and then later taught kindergarten and first grade at Miracle Center Christian Academy where she later served as principal. Norma was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Ann Moss. She is survived by her faithful husband of 33 years, Johnny Moss; a son, J.D. Moss and his wife, Pam of Albuquerque; a daughter, Barbara Clower and her husband, Kevin of Ruidoso; her parents, Rev. Adrian and Lila Harper of Bosque Farms; three brothers, Rudy Harper of Seattle, W.A., Steve Harper and his wife, Patti of Gallup and Joe"Little Joe" Salazar of Gallup; two sisters, Lynn Davis and husband, Jim of Los Lunas, Darlene Harvey of Bosque Farms, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family who loved her dearly. Visitation for Norma will begin at 9:30 a.m., with Funeral Services to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 13, 2003 at the First Assembly of God Church, 19398 North Hwy. 85 in Belen with Rev. Rowton -- Frank Rowton, Major, USAF retired, died Saturday, August 9, 2003 at the Heart Hospital of NM at the age of 82. A native of Kansas, he resided in Albuquerque for many years before and after retiring from the Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Garnette (Pat) I. Rowton; sons, William C. Rowton and wife Linda H., Donald T. Rowton, Robert L. Rowton; grandson, Richard A. Rowton; sister, Thelma R. Schroeder; cousin, Bud Rowton; and many step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. A man of many interests, he pursued many hobbies, including amateur radio, flying, airplane building, photography, archeology, genealogy, hunting and fishing. He was a Charter member, Perpetual Life member and Past Master of Zia Daylight Lodge No. 77, A.F. & A. M. He was also a plural member of Anthem Lodge #284, A.F. & A.M., of Scott City, Kansas and an endowed member of the Valley of Santa Fe, Orient of New Mexico, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He also was a member of several other organizations, including the Reserve Officers Association, the Retired Officers Association, The American Legion, National Sojourners, Heroes of 76, The National Rifle Association, the New Mexico Shooting Sports Association, the Experimental Aircraft Association, and the American Radio Relay League. Ruiz -- Manuel Flavio Ruiz, 28, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away August 9, 2003. He is survived by his son, Marcus Ruiz; his mother, Veronica Piedad Dominguez; his stepfather, Juan Dominguez; three sisters, Lucia Hernandez, Juanita Ruiz and Veronica Dominguez; a half-brother, Joe Gallegos. Visitations will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. also in the chapel. Salazar -- Judith Ann (Anderson) Salazar, 63, loving mother and wife, passed away on the morning of August 11, 2003. Born on October 8, 1939 in Munising, Michigan, she was employed for 17 years at Manacare Services of Albuquerque. As a born again Christian, Judy adored and cared for patients with love and passion. She is survived by husband, Charles D. Salazar; daughter, Mishel Nicholai Meyer; two sons, Dean and Stephen Meyer; brothers, Larry Anderson, Denis and Bruce Verrett; sister, Margaret McGraff, and niece, Laura Anderson. By marriage, she is survived by Emillio and Betty Salazar, Benny and Addie Salazar, and Tom and Nina Monsoor. Her stepchildren include Larry, Ronnie, Eric, Matthew and Suzanne Salazar, Phillip and Beth Salazar, Paul and Heather Salazar and nine grandchildren. Those who knew Judy are blessed by her unconditional love. Judy will be missed by her many friends and family. Serna -- Serenity Serna, 4 months, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2003. Serenity was born March 23, 2003, the daughter of Jeremy Serna and Elizabeth Sandoval in Albuquerque. She is survived by her parents; sister, Sabrina Zamora; brother, Anthony Tafoya; grandparents, Pauline Serna, Robert Serna and Maryann Sandoval; aunts, Roberta Serna, Edith Sandoval, Della Sandoval, Betty Ann Miller, Gloria Lopez, and Monica Pacheco; uncle, Troy Serna; and cousin, Manny Serna. Spradling -- Pauline H. Spradling, 88, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2003 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A long time resident of Albuquerque, Pauline enjoyed going to the movies, fishing, and playing duplicate bridge. In June of 2003, she achieved Golden Age Master bridge player status. Pauline was born in Straight Creek, Kentucky and was one of four daughters of Harry and Edith Harrison. While her first husband, William Spradling, preceded her in death, Pauline is survived by her two children, Stuart Spradling of Colorado Springs and Shirley Fleming of Albuquerque, as well as five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to being a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Pauline retired in 1973 from her career as a Printed Circuit Technician for Sandia Laboratory in Albuquerque. She was also a member of the Methodist church. Memorial services will take place Saturday, August 16, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at French Mortuary- Wyoming Blvd.Chapel. Thomas -- Lt. Col. James Edwin (Ed) Thomas, US Army, Retired, 63, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2003. He is survived by his son, Marc Thomas and wife, Michelle; daughter, Leigh Martinez and husband, Thomas; three grandchildren, Kyle, Jared, and Isabella. Ed was born on March 25, 1940 in Boston, MA. A resident of Albuquerque since 1978, he retired recently, and enjoyed spending his time riding his motorcycle, gardening, and enjoying time with friends and family. After graduating with an Engineering Degree from Northeastern University, Ed spent his career in service to his country, first in the Army, and later with contractors working for the Department of Energy. Along the way, he earned his Masters Degree from the University of North Dakota. Ed was much loved, and will be missed greatly by all who knew him. Services will be held Friday, August 15, 2003, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Velasquez -- Eusebio G. Velasquez, age 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother was called home to be with the Lord our Savior, Monday, August 11, 2003. Eusebio enjoyed working on his ranch, farming, fishing and hunting; he also enjoyed working on his cars in his workshop. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Velasquez in 1989; a daughter, Antonia Albertson; brother, Jose Maria Velasquez; and two sisters, Emma and Eurcina. Eusebio is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Candelaria Velasquez; his children, Michael and Raymond Velasquez; sister, Frances Lovato; brothers, Phillip, Ausustine, Milton, Orlando, Walter, and Tito Velasquez; and many more beloved family members and friends, who will deeply miss him. Visitations will be Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. till the time of rosary, which will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Cuba. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at the Cuba Catholic Cemetery.
