Gutierrez -- Louis J. Gutierrez, 93, went home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2003. He was born on September 19, 1909 in Albuquerque, NM. Mr. Gutierrez is survived by his wife Vera Gutierrez; sisters-in-law, Rose Gutierrez, Soleme Gutierrez and Rosalie Romankiw of Albuq., NM; brothers-in-law, John Sandoval and Raymond Sandoval of Albuq., NM; sisters-in-law, Vina Sesma of Los Angeles, CA and Lenora Roman of Barstow, CA and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Gutierrez will be deeply missed by his loving family. A rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. also at the San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Honor guards will be provided by the American Legion Post 69. Hammond -- Sharon Y. Hammond. A Memorial Service will be celebrated Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW by Deacon Joe Herrera. Hernandez -- Jesus H. Hernandez. The family wishes to express their gratitude to their many relatives and friends whose sympathy and thoughtfulness will always be greatly remembered and deeply appreciated. We wish to especially thank Aileen and Kathy for lending their beautiful voices during the Rosary and Mass; Connie, Pete and Florence for the most enjoyable food they prepared; each and everyone of you who also brought food or other gifts to the after-Mass gathering; to those who expressed their sorrow through their floral arrangement; to everyone who conveyed their condolences in person or through their thoughtful cards; and for your beautiful words, Father Olona. Lawrence -- Kathryn E. Lawrence, age 48, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2003 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Kate was a devoted daughter to her father, Saul Kaye, and loving mother to her daughter, Masha Alexandra Lawrence. Kate will be remembered as a gifted musician, a dedicated teacher and a passionate, vibrant life force. Kate touched and shaped the lives of all who knew her and she will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Services will be Sunday, July 27, 2003 at 3:00 p.m., at the First Unitarian Church, 3701 Carlisle N.E., with a reception to follow at the church. Lujan -- Gloria Lujan, 44, passed away on July 23, 2003. She was born on September 16, 1958 in Albuquerque, NM. Gloria is survived by her father, Alex Lujan; daughter, Theresa Lujan and daughter, Elizabeth Anne Chavez ; son, Anthony Rivera; brother, Joseph Lujan; sisters, Barbara Vargas and husband, Felix, Alice Lujan and husband, Roger, Virginia Ramirez, Irene Lujan and husband Robert Segura, Theresa Sanchez and husband Alfred and Mary Archuleta. Gloria will be deeply missed by her loving family. A rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Anne Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Mountain -- John Mountain, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at the age of 78. He is survived by his beloved spouse of 16 years, Dolores Mountain; by his brother, Fr. Joseph Mountain from Minnesota and Mary from Wisconsin; seven stepchildren, Sharon, Pam, Linda, Becky, Tom, Cindy, and Gary and their spouses and children, especially, Becky's husband, Richard; and by a number of cousins and friends. John was born and lived in southern Minnesota, where he served others for more than 50 years. John is a graduate of Marquette University and St. John's University. He served as a Pharmacist's Mate during World War II. John spent the last 29 years of his life in Albuquerque. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo parish, a devoted subscriber to Popejoy Hall musical events, and an enthusiastic shopper. With Dolores' encouragement, John was becoming an increasingly adventurous traveler when his life changed radically after an internal spinal cord injury and a number of small strokes left him disabled and requiring total care for all of his daily needs. A Rosary for Mr. Mountain will be recited on Monday, July 28, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at St. Charles Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by DAV Chapter 3. Murfin -- Charles A. Murfin, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie Murfin of Albuquerque; daughters, Maxine Proctor of Albuquerque, Betty Comer of Bartlesville, OK and Jennie Walters and husband, Billy of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Murfin and wife, Waynene of Austin, TX; sister, Mary Miller of Greenfield, IN; and very special friends, Linda and Albert Moore and son, Kevin, Roy and Leta Bassham and Tom and Bonnie Watson, all of Albuquerque. Mr. Murfin was a veteran of WWII, Naval Seabees. He was a mechanic his entire life. Mr. Murfin was an avid square dancer of 28 years. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Scheaffer -- Ellen Scheaffer passed away July 23, 2003 at the age of 61. She is survived by her husband, Frank Scheaffer; one daughter, Dawn Hight of Mayville, WI; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. No services are planned.

Stribling -- Thomas Breece Stribling, Sr. 81, native of Albuquerque, died peacefully Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Presbyterian hospital. There are no services scheduled at this time. Tom will have a headstone at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Martha G. Stribling of Albuquerque; seven children, John D. Stribling, Martha Joy Stribling, Thomas B. Stribling Jr. and son, Luke Stribling, Margaret M. Stribling and her sons, Robert Caine and Sam Stribling, Steve R. Stribling his wife, Tammy Stribling and their sons, William Stribling and Marshall Stribling, George Stribling his wife, Teresa Stribling and there son, Levi Stribling, Joel D. Stribling his wife, Lori Stribling and their children, Joel Stribling II, Deanna Stribling, Rachel Stribling, Danielle Stribling and Martha Claire Stribling. Tom and Martha Stribling were married 63 years ago, he served in WWII and was awarded numerous medals and commendations along with the Purple Heart. After returning home from the war he founded Tom Stribling Associates Realtors with Martha at his side and sold homes to Albuquerque residents for 50 plus years. In the late eighties, Tom started work on a new endeavor, Supercuts, with the help of his wife and children. Tom loved the outdoors, landscapes and visiting with people. He was an avid hunter, camper and loved fishing with his family. Tom Stribling attended the University of New Mexico and later served as an English professor at the University. We will always feel the void left by the passing of Thomas Breece Stribling. He shall never be forgotten in our prayers.

Thayer -- E. Nadene Thayer, age 77, of Albuquerque, died on Wednesday, July 23, 2003, following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Charles L. Thayer. Mrs. Thayer was employed as an Engineer with Mountain Bell, and retired from US West after 35 years of service. She enjoyed traveling after her retirement. Nadene was deeply loved and will be missed by all. She is survived by her children, Edith Charlene Thayer, Charles Martin Thayer and wife, Joyce, Michele Atwell; grandchildren, Rick Baca, Nadene Sieffert and husband, John, Crystal Atwell, Vanessa Atwell, Christopher Pate, Corissa Pate, Elisa Thayer, Chuck Thayer; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Stone Grimm and Natasha Sieffert; brothers-in-law, William Thayer and wife, Connie and Robert A. Thayer, Jr. and wife Donna. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 27, 2003, 4:00 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 28, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Cathedral in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Thomas -- CMDR Robert H. Thomas, USN, (Ret.), 91, a resident of Albuquerque and former 23-year resident of Belen, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Thomas of Albuquerque; daughters, Rene Frost and husband, Randy of Albuquerque, Jacquie Ramirez and husband, Frank of San Diego, CA, and Cheryl Darden of Albuquerque; sons, Lee Sikes and wife, Linda Lee of Los Lunas, NM, Richard Sikes and wife, Donna of San Diego, CA, Kent Sikes of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren, J.B. Barnes, Laci, Crystal, Michael, Sharon, Ricky, Eric, Brett, Rory, Connor, and Gavin; great-grandchildren. Mr. Thomas was a beloved husband, loving father, and grandfather and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was an active member of Masonic Lodge #56, AF & AM, Scottish Rite, Ballut Abyad Shrine, and attended First Methodist Church of Belen. Mr. Thomas was involved in the Albuquerque Gem and Mineral Club, Archaeological Society, R.C. Association, Navy League and Retired Officers Assoc. He was also active in the Republican Party and instructor with AARP 55 Alive. Toledo -- Lucella Toledo, 89, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 22, 2003. She was a lifetime resident of Alameda, NM. Lucella is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ramon Toledo; daughter, Leonella Lonnie Garcia and husband, Abenicio; three grandchildren, Agnes Sanchez, Anthony Garcia and Dianne Estrada; six great- grandchildren; and 12 great-great- grandchildren. She was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 4th and Alameda NW, where all services will be held. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2003. Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2003 with burial following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Widman -- Ruth Martin Widman, 83, a resident of Albuquerque for 46 years was called home Tuesday. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Cecil of San Diego, CA; her son, Al Widman and wife, Cynthia of Albuquerque; brother, Ernest Martin of Gulf Breeze FL; four grandchildren, Timothy Cecil of San Diego, CA, Christopher Cecil and his wife, Beth of Denver CO, Joanna Widman of Albuquerque, and Stuart Widman of Albuquerque; three great-grandchildren; Kieran, Logan and Ryan Cecil of Denver, CO. She has been enjoying retirement from the Mountain Bell Telephone Company since 1982, where she was an accounting manager for 25 years. The way she lived her life with loved ones and friends is the only Memorial needed. Cremation has taken place at the Sunrise Society of New Mexico. Wintersberger -- Josef Wintersberger, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1971, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Carol Wintersberger of Albuquerque; son, Ralph Wintersberger of Tijeras, NM; sister, Elsa Jahrstorfer of Germany and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Wintersberger was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrud Wintersberger; sisters, Paula Knollmueller and Mariluise Wintersberger; and brothers, Otto Wintersberger and Franz Wintersberger. Josef was a machinist at Sandia Laboratory and retired in 1995. As a hobby he enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. While growing up as a young man he was a baker in Germany and in New York. Services will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel with Deacon Bob Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
