Bolger -- John M. Bolger, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, and formerly of Chelmsford, MA died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 in New Mexico at the age of 44. Born August 31, 1958, he was a son of John C. Bolger of Chelmsford, MA and the late Alma B. (Brown) Bolger. He graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1977. Mr. Bolger was a self-employed General Contractor in Albuquerque,NM, and was active in the Project Share Program. Besides his father, he is survived by one daughter, Candiace Marie Bolger of Seattle, WA; three sisters, Katherine K. Bolger of Old Greenwich, CT, Mary N. Bolger of Lowell, MA, and Rebecca B. Small of Chelmsford, MA. He was the brother of the late Ann Marie Bolger. Funeral Services are private. Bracken -- Julia G. Bracken, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1936, died Monday, June 16, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Walter G. Bracken, Sr.; daughter, Georgia Davis and husband, Mel; sons, Daniel L. Bracken and wife, Imelda, Walter G. Bracken, Jr. and John W. Bracken. and wife, Sharon, all of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Millard Stump and wife, Emily, Chester Stump and wife, Thelma, James Stump and Carley Stump; sisters, Dorothy Perry and husband, Pat and Esther Armijo, all of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. Brown -- Rosemary V. Brown (Vaden) died peacefully at Kaseman Hospice on Tuesday, June 10, 2003. She was born in Mesilla Park, NM, June 27, 1920. She is survived by her sister, Jean Pierce of Albuquerque; son, Dave and daughter-in-law, Donna of Albuquerque; step-daughter, Alice Ann Ferriola and son-in-law, Rick Ferriola of Ft. Myers, FL; sister-in-law, Sister Mary Josetta of Rogers, AR; grandchildren, Ben and Celia Brown, Robin Wagner, Rick, Tina and Nichole Feriola; great-granddaughter, Amanda; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bernard F. Brown in 2002; parents, Clay and Mary Vaden; brother, Samuel Vaden who was killed in World war II; and sister, Mina Walsh. Rosemary graduated from the Loretto Academy in Santa Fe in 1938 and loved to tell stories of running up and down the now famous Loretto Chapel's"Miracle Staircase" for choir. She also attended New Mexico State Teachers College (Western New Mexico University) in Silver City. She served as Bill Clerk of the New Mexico State Senate in 1939. From 1940 to 1945, she worked at the New Mexico Bureau of Revenue. During World War II, Rosemary was a volunteer with the Civil Air Patrol and received an honorary appointment from New Mexico Governor John E. Miles as a Colonel, Aide-de Camp to the Governor's Staff. She met Bernard while he was serving with the Medical Detachment of the 1886th Service Command Unit at Bruns General Hospital in Santa Fe during the War. They were married in St. Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe in 1944. Later, the couple moved to Illinois where his family was located and lived in Springfield where Bernard returned to work as a Pharmacist. Rosemary worked for many years as a bookkeeper with the Rickbial Accounting Firm and then as the head bookkeeper for the B & F Toggery Mens' Stores in Springfield. She was also a volunteer at the St. Agnes Grade School in Springfield where Dave went to school. After retirement in 1980, Bernard and Rosemary returned to New Mexico and lived in Albuquerque where she was involved in the"Golden Agers" and was an avid card player with her friends. Cremation has taken place. A Remembrance reception will be held Thursday, June 19, 2003, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. A Mass will be held on Friday, June 20, 2003, 9:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family would like to thank Rosemary's longtime caregiver, Annie Kennelly for all her help and kindness through the years. They would also like to gratefully acknowledge the outstanding staff at Kaseman Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion they gave to Rosemary and her family. Chavez -- Joe M."Little Joe" Chavez, 42, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, June 16, 2003. Ebbesson -- Linda Hibbs Ebbesson. Wednesday, June Family Memorial Services will be held for Linda Hibbs Ebbesson at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2003, at Sacred Heart Church in Shreveport, La. Mrs. Ebbesson, 52, a resident of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, died on June 15, 2003, in Shreveport, La. She was born on October 19, 1950, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and was a longtime resident of New Orleans. Linda was a 1968 graduate of Mercy Academy High School in New Orleans and attended Newcomb College, New Orleans. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Bernt Ebbesson. Other survivors include her daughters, Ruth Beeler and husband, Alex of Williamsburg, Va., Karin Ebbesson of Ogden, Utah, and Heidi Ebbesson of Trenton, N.J.; her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Richard G. Hibbs of Shreveport; one brother, U. S. Navy Capt. Richard Hibbs, Jr. and wife, Susan of New Orleans; one sister, Mary Jo and husband, Harlan Kirgan of Grand Coteau, La. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Gomez -- Mrs. Esther Gomez died Monday, June 16, 2003 in Albuquerque at the age of 68. Mrs. Gomez is preceded in death by her husband, Bacilio Gomez, and by her parents, Antonio and Louisa Pino. She is survived by four daughters, Rosemary Chavez and husband, Ernie, Gloria Padilla and husband, Ernie, Carmella Duran and husband, David, and Sally Jo Doyle and husband, Cole; brothers, Paul Pino and wife, Esther, Louis Pino and wife, Mary Ellen, Sam Pino and Jim Pino; sisters, Josephine Biggs, Beulah Aragon and husband, Robert, and Grace Aragon and husband, Roy; and 13 grandchildren. Griego -- Reynaldo (Rey) Griego, 62 years, left to go home to the loving arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ, Monday, June 16, 2003. Rey fought long and hard to recover from a brief illness. Rey was born and raised in La Joya, New Mexico, where he graduated high school in 1958. He retired from Sandia National Laboratories in October 2002 after 28 years of service. Rey and his music will be missed by all. Rey is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Barbara; his children, Roberta Garcia and her husband, Randy, Patrick Griego and his wife, Denise; Jessica and her husband, Mario Mauricio; and Rey Mora; and his mother-in-law, Susie Gow. Rey loved and enjoyed his grandchildren very much Cecily, Gilbert, Jared, Joshua, and Brandon. Rey was the son of the late Baltazar and Bennie Griego and was raised with two brothers and eight sisters. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Aurora (Lola) Griego, Bonifacio Griego, Lucy and her husband, Rudy Cordova, Jose Alferes Griego, Maria (Tommie) Helms, and Beatrice and her husband, Bennie Lopez. Kirkpatrick -- Robert E. Kirkpatrick, 79, of Las Cruces died Monday, June 16 at Memorial Medical Center. His father, George; mother, Bernice; and son, Robert Steven Kirkpatrick, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alice Ann Schneider; daughter, Eileen and husband, Wayne Gilbert of Las Cruces; son, Mark of Las Cruces; sister, Ethel and her husband, Jim Reese of Ocala, FL; brother, George and his wife, Jo of Palm Desert, CA.; sister, Margie and her husband, John Wullschleger of Evans, CO.; brother, Richard and his wife, Mary of Pismo, Beach, CA.; sister, Mary Ann and her husband, Kenny Howell of Denver, CO; brother, Harvey and his wife, Karen of Broomfield Co.; daughter-in-law, Virginia Killin of Gilbert, AZ; and grandsons, Dan of Las Cruces and Jimmy of Santa Fe. Kirkpatrick was born in Kansas City, MO, April 8, 1924 and grew up in Englewood, Colorado where he graduated from high school. He served for two years in World War II in the South Pacific with the U.S. Marine Corps and was part of the first occupational force in Japan. Kirkpatrick earned his accounting degree from the University of Denver in 1951 and his CPA certificate in 1960. He was a senior accountant with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. in Santa Fe for six years and later was employed by two other Santa Fe accounting firms. In 1965 the Governor appointed him Chief of Financial Control Division and Deputy Director of the Department of Finance and Administration. Gov. Bruce King appointed him the Director of the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration in 1970, a position he held four years until he was named Vice President for Business Affairs at New Mexico State University. With his contacts and experience in state government Kirkpatrick was also the chief contact between the university and the state legislature. Most recently he was honored by the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants when he received the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of outstanding achievement and devotion to the CPA profession. In 1974, he was the recipient of the New Mexico Distinguished Public Service Award and the 1986 received the NMSU President's Award for Service. Kirkpatrick's affiliations included the American Institute of CPAs, the N.M. Society of CPAs and the Montezuma Lodge No.1, A.F.& A.M. in Santa Fe. For many years he served as the finance officer at University Methodist Church in Las Cruces. He was an avid fan of Aggie football and basketball. In high school he was a caddie at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver and continued his interest in golf joining a select group of retirees at the NMSU course. Military Honors will be held at 9 a.m. Friday June 20, 2003 at Veterans Park. A private family internment will follow Friday at the Fort Bayard National Cemetery. A Memorial Service has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003 at the University Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Seelau officiating. A reception will follow at the Church. Lopez -- Isaac Lopez, 59, was welcomed into the hands of our Lord and Savior Monday, June 16, 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aristeo and Desideria Lopez; brother, Andres Lopez. Losinski -- Magdalene M. (Maggie) Losinski, 71, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, June 14, 2003. Maggie was born on July 22, 1931 in Vida,"Riverside Community", MT to Joseph and Anna Bailly. She moved to Albuquerque in 1961 with her husband and family. Maggie was known for her caring and giving nature. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working craft projects, gardening, and watching colorful hummingbirds flit about her homemade feeders. She compassionately gave of her time and volunteered over 3000 hours at Anna Kaseman Hospital. She always had a smile for those she met and was never too busy to play a game with her grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by young and old as the"Grandma with the homemade cookies" or the"Grandma with the strawberries". She also was known for having a"home remedy" for almost everything imaginable. She was preceded in death by her brother, Julian Bailly. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joseph B. Losinski; her sons, Sylvester; Paul and wife, Stacy; Armand and wife, Pam; and Eddy and wife, Jane; her daughter, Anita Romero and husband, Pat; her brothers, Albert and wife Barbara; George and wife, Helen; Leon and wife, Irene; and Ernest and wife, Mary; her sisters, Agnes Brown and husband, Herb; and Marguerite Lemieux; nine grandchildren, hannon, Ian, Kayla, Weston, Kenton, Marcus and Sheila Losinski; and Amanda and Waylon Raether. Mitchell -- Sgt. Major John Palmer Mitchell, U.S. Army (Ret.), 81, a resident of Albuquerque; died Monday, June 16, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Mitchell of Albuquerque; sons, John P. Mitchell, Jr. of Miami, FL; daughters, Joann Obara and husband, Bernie of Taos and Anita Mitchell and companion, George Vallejos of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Zack Taylor Wright and wife, Barbara; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Ortiz, Kailey Wright and Shila Wright; brother, George Smith and wife, Lorraine; and sisters, Helen Eby and husband, Ed, Dolly Aliminda and husband, Karl and Betty Rowe. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Etta Rae Sewell, of Albuquerque; grandsons, Rex Sewell and wife, Barbara, of Albuquerque, and Randal Sewell and wife, Gina, of Las Cruces, NM; granddaughter, Patti Miller and husband, Bill, of Gallup, NM; five great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, one nephew and many friends at Three Fountains Apartments. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Sewell, in 1987 and her son, Weldon Sewell in 2000. Mrs. Sewell was born in Salem, KY on October 24, 1911. Her father moved the family to the Estancia Valley in the early 1900's where she lived until moving to Albuquerque in 1940. Mrs. Sewell was a member of the Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters and Central United Methodist Church. Services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE with Dr. Charles Crutchfield, officiating. Interment will follow at Estancia Cemetery. Speyrer -- Emile Speyrer, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1967, died on Friday, June 13, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Catherine Speyrer of Albuquerque; two daughters, Linda Carol Haas and husband, Dennis of Albuquerque and Patricia Ann Graves and husband, Thomas of Los Alamos; five grandchildren, Matthew and Jana Haas and Adam, Melissa and Benjamin Graves; three brothers, Robert Speyrer of Leonville, LA, Henry R. Speyrer and wife, Sue of Woodland, TX and John Speyrer of Metarie, LA; and two sisters, Mary Stelly and husband, Daniel of Opelousas, LA and Edna Mae. Begnaud and husband, Jr. of Lafayette, LA. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Speyrer. Mr. Speyrer was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Mountain Bell Telephone in 1983 after more than 35 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Retirees. Mr. Speyrer had been a member of Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church and had served as an usher for many years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus where he served as financial secretary. Stagner -- Paul E. Stagner, 62, a resident of Reserve, NM passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2003. He was a founding member of the Reserve Sportmans Association, a member of the NRA, and served in the U.S Navy. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved anything to do with his beloved mountain. He was also an avid gun collector and loved shooting all kinds of firearms. Paul owned and operated Paul's Garage and Welding in Reserve for over 13 years retiring in 2002. He loved backpacking into the mountains especially with his family. His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to be with them. Greeted in eternal life by his biological parents, Edward Clark and Ila Stevens; his parents, Bill and Pearl Stagner; his son, Paul Edwards Jr.; stepfather and grandfather to his children, Clarance Stevens; and one sister, Mildred Hutcherson. Paul is survived by his loving companion, Mary Clark of Reserve; all her loving family; three children, Jacquelien and her husband, Mike Swindle of Reserve; Angelien and her husband, Darrrel O'Neal of Silver City, NM; Arthur Vanlyle Stagner and his wife, April of Silver City; five grandchildren, Jacob Paul Swindle; Jerry Lee O'Neal; Cody Ryan Stagner; McKenzie Rose O'Neal; and Tesleigh Madison Stagner; three brothers, George"Sonny" Clark and his wife, Cece of Silver City; James Stevens and his wife, Janis of Agila, AZ; and Gene Clark and his family; and a brother-in-law, Van Hutcherson of Belen. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the Reserve Community Center on Saturday, June 21, 2003 at 11:00am. Trice -- Ralph J. Trice of Hobbs, NM was born October 3, 1924 in Littlefield, TX. He served in WWII in the South Pacific, returning as Sergeant Ralph Trice with a Merit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, Infantry Combat Badge, Proficiency Award and three battle stars. He led an infantry division of 11 men. He married Ruth Marie Alldredge, a high school biology teacher from Plainview, TX on March 22, 1946. They were married in Lubbock, TX. The couple had been married 57 years. He obtained his Bachelors Degree from West Texas State College, and a Masters Degree from Easter New Mexico University. He held an administrative teaching certificate in Texas, coached and taught History in Roaring Springs, TX, Denver City, TX and Hobbs, NM for 35 years. He was named Teacher of the year in Hobbs in 1982, was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from Artesia Car Enthusiasts in 2003, and was honored by Mainstreet Hobbs 2003 for volunteer service. His hobby for more than 50 years was restoring antique cars. One of his restorations was selected as a national winner at a show in Dallas, TX. He received more than 50 awards for his cars at car shows including quality restoration awards, Judge's Choice, Mayor's Choice and Businessmen's Choice. He served as tour chairman for the New Mexico Antique Auto Tour on five occasions and helped area organizations organize car shows for charity for more than ten years. He was a member of Antique Automobile Club of America, Model A Ford Club of American, Roadrunner Car Club, Hobbs Chaparral Kiwanis and First United Methodist Church. He served in the 1980's on a task force for the city of Hobbs and volunteered with Hobbs August Nights. He is survived by Ruth Marie Alldredge Trice, his wife of Hobbs; Judy Hanna, his daughter of Hobbs; Bill Trice, his son of Denver City, TX; John Trice, his son of San Jose, CA; three sisters, Murrell Cooper of Hobbs, Kathryn Wilson of Hobbs, and Barbara Wilder of Denver City, TX; brother, Donald Trice of Jal, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Scott Mulkey of Dallas, TX, Debbie Perrin of Lovington, NM, Cindy Trice of Hobbs, Jordan Trice of Flagstaff, AZ and Hank Trice of Dallas, TX; and two great-grandchildren, David Perrin and Alec Martinez. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph O. Trice of Denver City, TX; mother, Maybell Brown Trice of Denver City, TX; brother, Calvin R. Trice of Clovis, NM; sister, Mildred Greer of Albuquerque; and stepmother, Kathryn Trice of Denver City, TX. Walker -- Marshall Brian Walker, 63, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2003, after a long battle with COPD. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Julie Walker; his loving daughter, Leah Kirk and son-in-law, Scott Kirk of Columbus, GA; his special son, Donnie Walker and daughter-in-law, Donna of Albuquerque; and his precious grandchildren, Ryan and Lauren Kirk of Columbus, GA. Brian was born in Santa Rita, NM, along with his twin brother, Lance. In addition, he is also survived by his dear mother, Virginia Walker; his twin brother, Lance Walker and wife, Sandra; his sisters (also twins), Sandra Rockwell and husband, Phil and Karen Wilder and husband, Don, all of Albuquerque; and many close relatives and friends. He had a deep love for his family and his country and served proudly in the United States Marine Corps and the US Army, having been awarded a Bronze Star Medal. We are all very blessed to have had Brian as a part of our lives. Private family services will be held at a later date at the NM Veterans' Memorial Park. Weiss -- Edward"Paul" Weiss, U.S. Army Lt. Colonel (Retired), 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, died on Friday, June 13, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Bertha; son, Garry Weiss and wife, Roxanne; daughter, Karen Taylor and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Steven Taylor and wife, Karen, Lisa Taylor Pollack and husband, Dave, Michael Taylor and wife, Mishele, Julie Weiss Lugo and husband, Edward, Christopher Weiss and Edward Pual Weiss, II; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Jeanne Weiss in 1953. Paul was born on Monday, April 14, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York, to Frederick P. and Hazel E. Weiss. He had a long distinguished career in the United States Army. Paul was a decorated veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. He was a very patriotic man, dedicating his life to the service of his country. Paul received the Purple Heart during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a longtime member of Bear Canyon Senior Citizens Center, volunteering many teaching hours and enjoying square dancing and ballroom dancing. He was great lover of music and passed that love to his children and grandchildren. Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 19, 2003, at 9:00 a.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Father Richard Olona, Celebrant.
