Archer -- Thomas C. Archer, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Tuesday, May 20, 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Thies of Albuquerque; brothers, Timothy Archer and wife Patricia of Tracy, CA, and Dennis Archer and wife, Beverly of Federal Way, WA; grandchildren, Blake, Kristen, Brett, Kenneth, Anne, Sara, Ben, Stephan, Becky, Peter, Jon, Christina, and Faith; and great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Blake. Archer was preceded in death by his parents; sisters; and wife, Lucille Archer in 1985. He was an EMT for Cochiti Lake and in the Masonic Lodge in Geneva, IL. Archer also sang with a church choir at Christ Lutheran in Santa Fe, and also sang with a barber shop group in Illinois for many years. Cremation has taken place. Archibeque -- Conrad Archibeque, age 85, beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend was welcomed into the arms of the Lord our Savior, Monday, May 19, 2003. Conrad was a lifelong resident of Algodones, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Lucinda Archibeque; his wife, Celia (Amy) Archibeque; and a sister, Lucy Vigil. Conrad is survived by a special granddaughter, whom he raised as an infant, Debbie Valdez and husband, Luciano; special great-granddaughter, Brenda; his very special great-grandson, Anthony, (who will miss him greatly); one daughter, Patsy Archibeque; four sons, Jim and wife, Marie, Iggy and wife, Cecilia, Sammy and wife, Lolly, Billy and wife, Linda. Also surviving are his sister, Irene Montoya and husband, John; one brother, Alex Archibeque and wife, Carmelita; niece, Betty Patton; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Donnalan, the New Mexico Cancer Center and the Pharmacy at K-Mart, for the care and kindness given to Conrad and the family. Final viewing will be today from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church followed by the celebration of the Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Bedard -- Stephanie Lynn Bedard, 45, a resident of Placitas, died Monday, May 19, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 13 years, David Bedard of Placitas, NM; father, James F. Hayes; sister, Tamara Hayes; niece, Samantha Ade, all of Albuquerque; father and mother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Fernand Bedard of Wheaton, MD; brothers-in-law, Dennis, Peter and Philip Bedard; brother and sisters-in-law, Paul and Stephanie Bedard, Jeannie and Curtis Baker, and Michelle and Carl Schott; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Stephanie graduated from Sandia High School in 1976. She attended the University of New Mexico and graduated in 1980 as a Dental Hygenist. She worked as a Dental Hygenist for 13 years, then went to work for GlaxoSmithKline where she won numerous national sales awards and was a frequent guest trainer at their headquarters in North Carolina. Stephanie was respected by her coworkers and loved by her many friends. She loved entertaining and cooking. She also had a great talent for interior design. Stephanie loved animals, especially her cat, Fraidy. Services will be held Friday, May 23, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE, Rev. Dewey Johnson officiating. Beers -- Don P. Beers, age 77, of Santa Fe, NM, died on Monday, May 19, 2003. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Beers. Don was born April 9, 1926 to Don B. and Pauline Beers. He married Geraldine Beers on May 19, 1952 in Santa Fe, NM. Mr. Beers was a retired Real Estate Broker, a member of the Elks Lodge, Mason in the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. His sense of humor will be missed. He is survived by his son, Ron Beers and wife, Kitty; daughter, Lori Beers-Ashoo and husband, Luay; grandchildren, Bonnie Beers, Nicki Scalley, Shane Beers, Ryan Ashoo, Amanda Ashoo and Kirsten Ashoo; great- grandsons, Riley and Cameron Russil. Brown -- Ruth Naoma Scoville Brown, 90, a resident of Albuquerque, passed over Tuesday morning, May 20, 2003, at 7:55 a.m., at West Mesa Care and Rehabilitation, where she had resided for the past two years. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Scoville; son, Richard Harold Brown, Jr.; mother, Sarah Naoma Scoville; brothers, John Scoville and Ralph Scoville; and husband, Richard Harold Brown Sr. She is survived by her brother, William E. Scoville of Los Lunas; daughter, Lynda Carol of La Jara, NM; niece, Pearl Nelson of Medford, OR; two grandsons, Nicholas Brown and Justin Daniels, both of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Ellen Lockhart of Issaquah, WA; great-grandsons, Curtis and Cody Brown, both of Albuquerque and Zachary Lockhart of Issaquah, WA; great-granddaughter, Madisen Brown of Albuquerque; as well as a host of friends. Ruth attended Pasadena College in Pasadena, CA and Portland Bible Institute in Portland, OR, where she met her husband of 59 years, Richard Harold Brown. They married on December 22, 1940. Ruth graduated from Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, ID with a degree in Nursing in 1940. She retired from Presbyterian Hospital in 1976. Ruth was active in the Albuquerque Friends Church, the Palo Duro Senior Center, WCTU and Grey Gladiators; also volunteering at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. She was an accomplished artist and musician; and a much-loved friend, mother, and grandmother. Ruth will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2003, at 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, with Barney F. Bush officiating. C'de Baca -- Maria Adelina"Lena" DeTevis C'de Baca, 84, beautiful beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was welcomed peacefully into the arms of the Lord our Savior on Tuesday, May 20, 2003. Lena was a resident of Albuquerque since 1991 after having lived previously in Santa Fe for 18 years and in Los Alamos for 28 years. She was born in Las Vegas, NM to Antonio and Emilia DeTevis and was the oldest daughter. As a teenager, she worked at the Brush Ranch in Pecos. While in Los Alamos she raised her five children and worked in the fabric section at Clement and Benner department store and as a teller at the First National Bank of Santa Fe. While living in Santa Fe, she worked at Anthony's Department Store. She married Ernest"Nene" C'de Baca (who preceded her in death) in 1940, and in 1942 they moved to San Francisco, California, which left a lasting impression on her. Her favorite song was"I Left My Heart in San Francisco". Lena was an excellent seamstress, a fabulous cook, and an accomplished artist. Many of her oil paintings are in her children and grandchildren's homes. Lena was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her surviving children, Anne Legler and husband, Bruce of Santa Fe, Mary Cherryhomes of Carlsbad, Peggy Atencio and husband, Don De Gasperi, Carla Martinez and husband David, and Ernie C' de Baca and wife, Geri all of Albuquerque; sisters, Pita Lucero and husband, Buddy of Albuquerque, Rose Sanchez, Marie DeTevis, Rise Gallegos all of Las Vegas, NM, and Jane DeTevis of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Joe DeTevis and wife, Ruth of Uvalde, TX; grandchildren, Toye Haddock, Bill Norwood, Alex Legler, Allison Legler, Amy Michaels, Tom Cherryhomes, Shannon Enterman, Kristie Atencio-McClellan, Kathie Atencio, Diego Martinez, Anita Martinez, Robbie C' de Baca, and Seth C' de Baca; and 15 great-grandchildren who loved her dearly as GG. Dooley -- Clarence (Bud) Dooley, 84, a resident of Albuquerque for 48 years, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2003. Bud is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma Dooley; son, Bob Dooley and wife, Linda of Albuquerque; daughter, Lynn Bennett and husband, Wayne of Middletown, NJ; son-in-law, Roger Martin of Las Vegas, NV; and granddaughters, Amy Dooley of Denver, CO and Kimberly Martin of Las Vegas, NV. Bud was preceded in death by his daughter, Joanne Martin. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, Bud went to work for Calvert Distillers Company and was the N.M. State Manager for 28 years and retired in 1983. Bud was a prominent Mason and Shriner belonging to the Temple Lodge No. 6, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Royal Order of Jesters and American Legion Post 99. Garcia -- Rumaldo Garcia, Jr., 70, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2003 at his home in Sunnyvale, CA surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 9, 1932 in Casa Colorada, NM to Rumaldo and Vicenta Garcia. He proudly served honorably with the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. Rumaldo was employed by Varian Associates as an electronic engineer, specializing in computer design until his retirement in 1992. In addition to his family, his main passion was playing his guitar. Rumaldo is survived by his loving wife of 28 years; Sharon; three daughters, Beverly Geraci; Kimberly Aicone; and Melanie Ballejo; four sisters, Tilly Pena; Gloria Chavez; Eloisa Castillo; and Thereasa Garcia; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A celebration of Rumaldo's life will be held on Friday, May 23, 2003 in the Romero Funeral Home Chapel in Belen, NM at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Casa Colorada Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gilbert Chavez, Ray Garcia, Mark Garcia, Jimmy Sanchez, Greg Bernal, and Teddy Bratcher. Honarary pallbearer is Richard Garcia. Ledoux -- Mela Vigil del LeDoux was born in Talpa, NM, USA, to Josefita Struck Vigil and Jose Benito Vigil on Dec. 21, 1925. She returned home to her parents on May 18, 2003. Mela was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to anyone who needed or wanted one. She was preceded in death by her great grandfather, Juan Bautista Vigil, grandfather, Juan N. Vigil, father, Jose Benito Vigil, mother, Josefita Struck de Vigil, sisters, Frances Vigil de Gallegos, Margaret Vigil de Alarid, Jose Benito Vigil Jr., and Leo Vigil. She is survived by her Beloved"Honey LeDoux" Richard; son, Richard LeDoux Jr. and wife Loretta of Bosque Farms, daughters, Diane Chavez and husband Joe of Los Lunas, Agnes Redmond and husband Gary of Albuquerque, and Rose A. LeDoux of Albuquerque. Miller -- Eric Wayne Miller (36), Sweet Spirit of Juan Tabo, a childlike soul....You may have spied him shuffling, head down, thru the NE Heights, a gentle, huge man w/long, red dreadlocks and wearing baggy overalls. He loved Starbucks, Tomato Cafe, his support group at NAMI (Nat'l Alliance for the Mentally Ill), and all humanity. Since birth, Eric suffered from brain damage and Asperger's Syndrome (similar to Autism). Eric died peacefully in his chair on May 17, 2003. Eric persists-cherished and beloved (and missed forever!) by his mother, Nancy Ava Miller; father, Robert Lee Miller; sister, Deborah Anne Miller Rivera; brother-in-law, Jerold Rivera; nephew, David Jim Miller; grandmother, Barbara Williams; best friend, Jerald Jolles; and longtime family friends, Vickie Tomlinson and Melissa Larntz; and by Uncle Manny, all of Albuquerque. Park -- Connie Garcia Park, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003 in Albuquerque at the age of 84. Mrs. Park is preceded in death by two sons, David Garcia and Robert Garcia; and husband, Arturo Garcia. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother. Mrs. Park is survived by her four children, Margarita Trujillo of Albuquerque, Irene Smith of New York, Gilbert Garcia and wife, Suzanna of Dallas, Texas and Helen Chavez and husband, John of Albuquerque; sister, Guadalupe La Flore and husband, Daniel of Albuquerque; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great - great-grandchild. Funeral Services for Mrs. Park will be held on Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pica -- Nicholas A. Pica, 95, a resident of Albuquerque for 43 years, died Saturday, May 17, 2003. He is survived by his son, Nicholas R. Pica and wife, Christine of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Cheryl Penrose of Austin TX; grandson, Craig Pica of Denver, CO; step granddaughters, Ashlie and Megan Ryan; sister-in-law, Giovina Parks of Bakersfield, CA; niece, Patricia Gomez and husband, John of Albuquerque; and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ersilia Pica. Nick was born in Italy, and arrived on Ellis Island in 1913 with his family. They settled in Rochester, NY and lived there for over 47 years. Nick moved to Albuquerque in 1960, where he owned and operated Nick's Appliance Service for over 35 years. In his later years, Nick was an active member of the Albuquerque Stroke Club where he would counsel recent stroke patients to assist in their recovery. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2003, at 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel with Pastor Ken Moore officiating. Cremation has taken place and private ennichement will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Shaver -- Harris H. Shaver Jr., a native of Albuquerque, was born June 5, 1925 and passed away May 20, 2003. A Veteran of WWII, he proudly served in the US. Marine Corps. Harris owned and operated New Mexico Bookkeeping Services in Albuquerque. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and loved history, sports, fishing, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Harris is survived by his daughter, Debra L. White; three grandchildren, Michael, Crystal, and Jana White; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew, Elysea, and one on the way; three sisters, Betty Landon, Shirley Parsons, and Ginnie Murphy; two brothers William Shaver and Robert Shaver; numerous other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Smith -- A.W. Smith, age 88, passed away May 21, 2003 after an illness. A.W. was born August 14, 1914 in Guadalupe County, New Mexico to the home of Joseph Morton and Athina Farmer Smith. He was born to a pioneer family. His family made and sold butter to various people and business including the Governor of New Mexico. A.W. married Jimmie Lea Woodard on January 11, 1933 in Clovis, NM. A.W. owned and operated the Standard and Chevron Service station for many years. He received and award from Chevron for his twenty five years of Service. He served on the City Council, was the Fire Chief for the Santa Rosa Volunteer Fire Dept., he worked for WPA building roads in Santa Rosa, he was a truck driver, projectionist at the Pecos Theater, a soda jerk, and he worked for the Moise Mercantile. A.W. was a lifetime member of the Masonic Liberty Lodge #51, served as Worthy Patron and was also a Rainbow Dad. A.W. loved playing golf and was a member of the New Mexico Golf Association. A.W. was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed by all his family. A.W. is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jimmie Lea; his brothers, Earl Smith and Joseph Smith, Jr.; his sisters, Fannie Guy, Helen Smith and Faye Hamilton. Survivors include his children, Dale Smith and wife Vicki of Mimbres, NM, Carolyn Green and husband Harold of Santa Rosa, Kathleen Smith and Sheila Munden of Mesquite, TX, David Smith and wife Janet of Abilne, TX and Andrea Sisneros and husband Jude of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and longtime friends throughout the Southwest. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 23, at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church in Santa Rosa with Rev. Luis Orozco officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery. serving as Pallbearers will be J.M Smith, Michael Rogers, Jimmy Hamilton, Buster Dudrey, George Griego, Don Sultiemier, Bo Cribbs and Ace Thompson. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Guy, Hillard Guy, E.W. Dudrey, Dr. C.D. Milligan, Members of the Santa Rosa Volunteer Fire Department the served with A.W. including J.O. Vick, Luis Serrano, Gilbert Romero, Pelagio Campos and Tudy Sanchez. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can he made to the United Methodist Church Building Fund in Santa Rosa. Trujillo -- Alice Virginia Trujillo died Wednesday, May 21, 2003 in Albuquerque at the age of 63. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie O. Trujillo Sr.; two brothers, Severo Montano and Peter Montano; and her parents, Fernando and Virginia Montano. Mrs. Trujillo is survived by her sons, Willie O. Trujillo Jr. and wife, Annette, Arthur F. Trujillo, and Patrick A. Trujillo Sr.; daughter, Virginia M. Trujillo; brothers, Walter Montano, Bobby Montano and Ralph Montano; sister, Gloria Montoya; and eight grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Trujillo will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Pallbearer will be Amanda Trujillo. Wipf -- Alice Lucille Flanagan Wipf, wife of the late James Wipf who passed away August 22, 1989, died Monday May 19, 2003, at Albuquerque Medical Center. She is survived by her sister, Joyce Healy and her husband, Joseph of Franklin, Indiana; sisters-in-law; and several loving nieces and nephews. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She was born at Lake Andes, South Dakota, daughter of James and Della Flanagan. Her parents and brothers, Vincent, Neil, Kenneth, James, and Donald preceded her in death. She has been a longtime resident of Albuquerque since coming here from Sioux City, Iowa in 1954. She retired from the Albuquerque Public Schools as a dedicated teacher who had a positive influence on her students. Even after 30 years of teaching she continued to be in touch with many former students. She received her Masters Degree from the University of New Mexico in 1970. She was active and held offices in the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Sorority, Casa Angelica, Auxiliaries of the Brothers of the Good Shepard and the Barrett House. Her retirement years were spent traveling just as she had done with her late husband James, doing volunteer work, playing bridge, home decorating, and helping others in her caring and gracious ways. Rosary will be recited Thursday, May 22, 2003, at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE. The Funeral Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated Friday, May 23, 2003, at 11:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausleum Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
