Bailey -- Ronald Bailey went home on April 15, 2003 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Vera; and son, Stewart Bailey and wife, Renee. Stepchildren, Angela Garcia and husband, Elmer, Manuel Barela and wife, Connie, Alex Barela, Ernie Barela and many step-grandchildren. He was very much loved and will be missed by family and friends. Cummins -- Dr. Ben Cummins died suddenly Tuesday night, April 15, 2003 in his home. He will always be the much-loved husband of Ann; the father of Martha and Julia; the grandfather of Ben, Julian, Ryan, and Simon; and the loved and respected father-in-law of Derrick and Michael. Ben grew up in Texas, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas in Austin and his MD at Baylor Medical School in Houston. He moved to Minnesota, where he met his wife Ann, to complete his residency in Psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic. He was honored there with a fellowship in Child Psychiatry. He was a faculty member at the University of New Mexico for 23 years and also served as the training director for child and adolescent fellows. He spent his career as he spent his life, selflessly helping others. There was no problem too great nor need too small to escape Ben's attention. From a single flower to an entire symphony, from his closest family to the most distant stranger, Ben gave his all to help. Thanks Ben, for everything. A Memorial gathering will be held Saturday, April 19th, 11:00 a.m. at the UNM Alumni Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. Hanna -- Thomas B. Hanna, 87, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, April 13, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Jane Hanna; sister-in-law, Frances McCord, both of Albuquerque; two nephews, Lee Hanna Jr. and wife, Melba of Houston, TX and Dan Hanna and wife, Joyce of Tomball, TX; and one niece, Mary Jo Smith of Houston, TX. Mr. Hanna was born in Hearn, TX on August 25, 1916. He was an Air Force volunteer in WWII and was stationed in Albuquerque. After the war he went to college at the University of Houston and graduated with a Bachelor Degree. Mr. Hanna loved Albuquerque and returned here after college to live his life. He worked at the Sandia Labs for about 20 years and then he worked with his wife at their dress shops. Mr. Hanna retired in 1986. He was an avid golfer and loved sports especially football. Mr. Hanna was a member of Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple, Petroleum Club, and Central United Methodist Church. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper Ave. NE, with Dr. Charles Crutchfield officiating. Harris -- Byron"By" Harris, a 40 year resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday night April 13, 2003 in Largo, Florida. He was 85. Everyone liked By Harris. His infectious optimism and unselfish kindness touched everyone who met him. He was the founder and principal employee of By Harris Sales, an automotive manufacturer's representative company, traveling New Mexico, Texas and Arizona until he retired at age 80. He loved his church, St. Paul's Methodist, singing in the choir and socializing in a Christian atmosphere. He had a passion for golf, waiting in his later years for his advancing age to match his golf score. He was a zealous football fan of the teams of his alma mater, the University of Michigan. He served in the United States Navy during WWII, retiring as skipper of the U.S.S. Osmond Ingram after tours in both the Atlantic and Pacific. He is survived by his wife, Emmy; sons, Byron Harris, Jr, of Dallas, and Dr. Chris Harris of Gig Harbor, Washington; and stepdaughters, Sally Jo Klein of Louisville, Joann Schilling of North Canton, Ohio and Rita Myers of Powell, Ohio. He has seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. His first wife, Harriett, passed away in 1999. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at St Paul's Methodist Church in Albuquerque. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the American Lung Association.

Harris -- Robert A. Harris, 80, of Grand Junction, died April 13, 2003 at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Grand Junction. Cremation has taken place and Inurnment Services will be held Monday, April 21, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado. Mr. Harris was a retired business owner in Albuquerque. Survivors include his wife, Sara of Grand Junction; daughter, Roberta Jones and husband, Mark of Falls Church, VA; one son, Jim Harris and wife, Elaine of Grand Junction; and four grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center or Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado. Arrangements are under the d irection of Callahan Edfast Mortuary.

Jones -- Louise Andrews Jones, 85, longtime Albuquerque resident and wife of the late Colonel David R. Jones (1918-1992), died in Lovelace Hospice on April 14, 2003. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Lisa Anne Jones (1950-1999). She is survived by daughter, Susan Elizabeth Jones of Albuquerque; son, David Reese Jones IV, his wife, Sue Ann Luna Jones; and grandchildren, Samuel David Jones and Reagan Lee Jones of Tampa, Florida. Mary Louise Andrews was born July 14, 1917, in Samson, Alabama, and grew up in Bonifay, Florida. She began her 49-year marriage to Dave in 1942 after meeting him at a wartime Valentine dance in Pensacola. She had a long career as an executive secretary and worked at the Pentagon in the 1960s while raising three children and hosting events as an Air Force officer's wife. Louise was a talented artist, loved the outdoors and enjoyed exploring the rich history of New Mexico and Colorado. She volunteered as a docent at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and was an avid bird watcher, flower gardener and horsewoman. She served as president of the Arabian Horse Association of New Mexico and on the vestry of Saint Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church. She will be especially missed by the exceptional and loving staff of the Haven Care Dogwood House. Medina -- Merlinda Rubio Medina, was born September 3, 1923-April 16, 2003, has passed on to join her Savior and her loved ones who have gone on before her. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Price and husband, Tom of San Diego, CA, Stella Mendez and husband, Nestor, Georgia Shriner and husband, Tony of Albuquerque; sons, Tim Medina and wife, Alice of Los Lunas and Raymond Medina of Albuquerque; two sisters, Dora Medina and Annie Mills of Tucumcari, NM; two brothers, Acencion Rubio of Clovis, NM and Bonifaco Padilla of Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julio Rubio and Josefita Padilla; and her daughter, and best friend, Dora Ullom. Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel with Beatrice Garcia, reciting. Montgomery -- Ulman Garrett"Monte" Montgomery passed away Tuesday evening, April 15, 2003. He was born January 17, 1909 in Springtown, Texas, but considered himself to be a native New Mexican after his father homesteaded near Des Moines, NM in 1914. After graduating from high school, Monte continued his education at Montezuma College and what is now Highlands University. He was their first graduate with letters in five sports; basketball, baseball, football, track, and tennis. He earned a master's degree and worked toward a doctorate at Colorado University. Monte served in the U.S. Navy in WWII; and 21 years in the schools of New Mexico as a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent. Monte and his family moved to Albuquerque in 1952, where he worked on the UNM campus, serving 22 years as Executive Secretary for the New Mexico Activities Association-thoroughly enjoying traveling throughout the state to visit all school, knowing all the personnel, arranging sports tournaments, and music and academic competitions. He was an excellent tennis player, a charter member of the Tennis Club of Albuquerque, involved with his sons in the Boy Scouts of America; a life Master bridge player; an active church member; and one of the founders of Fellowship of Christian Athletes in New Mexico. Monte is survived by Ruby, his wife of 68 years; four children, Carolyn and her husband, Dr. Larry Posey; Dr. Johnny Montgomery and wife, Jan; Monte Gene Montgomery, Major USMC (Retired), and wife, Connie; and Sue Hamilton; also 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2003, at 1:00 p.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3715 Silver Avenue SE, Albuquerque, NM, 87108, with Pastor Tom Beach and Dr. B.C. Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum. Morris -- Martha J. Morris, 75, went home to the Lord on April 16, 2003. She was born to John and Roma Johnson in Little Rock, Arkansas on September 6, 1927. Martha had a long, fulfilling career as a legal secretary and until her retirement, was the legal assistant to District Judge Phillip D. Baiamonte, Retired. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and was a selfless friend to everyone she met. She was known for her kindness, dedication to her family, her compassion for others, and was renowned for her ability and love to tell a joke. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Morris, and is survived by their children, Patrick D. Morris and wife, Anne of Massachusetts, Daphine E. Benton and her husband, Leonard of Washington, Verna C. Morris of Albuquerque and Virginia E. Biggs and her husband, Michael W. of Washington; five grandchildren; two sisters, Roma Uszuko and Elizabeth Silan, both of Albuquerque. Cremation has taken place. Seidel -- Edward J. Seidel, 72, died Monday, April 14, 2003. Mr. Seidel was born in Brooklyn, New York and lived in Albuquerque for 35 years. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, daughter Carolyn and her husband Michael Mazarakis, three grandchildren, Gerar, Elisabeth and Alexander Mazarakis, all of Albuquerque and one sister, Evelyn Letterman, of Woodbury, New York. Mr. Seidel was devoted to his business, Seidel Amusement Machine Co., Inc., for more than 40 years until his retirement in October, 2000. He will be truly missed by his family and many friends. Smith -- Lucille Livingston Smith, 85, a native New Mexican and resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003. She is survived by her son, Gordy Smith; daughter, Tricia A. Fullerton, both of Albuquerque; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Virginia and Frank C.H. Livingston; husband, Gordon B. Mrs. Smith attended the University of New Mexico and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Warden -- Eva C. Warden, 86, a summer resident of Bosque Farms since 1988, died Sunday, April 13, 2003.
