Estrada -- Ruth A. Estrada, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, began her journey home Thursday, January 23, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Estrada of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Rita Sheley and husband, Butch of Mississippi and Laura Blanton and husband, Tom of Wyoming; grandson, Ricky Estrada and wife, Karen of Arkansas; great-granddaughters, Samantha and Mary; and great-grandsons, Corbin, Jason and Justin. Mrs. Estrada was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Clayton in 1992; son, Larry in 1996; sister, Charlotte; and two brothers, Buddy and Harry. She loved working in her pride and joy, her garden. Mrs. Estrada enjoyed having family and friends in her home. She loved doing for others and many loved her dearly. Services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. McIver -- Nora Marguerite McIver, age 81, went to be with her Lord and Savoir, Friday January 24, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Floyd McIver; daughters, Deborah K. McIver and husband, Duane of Colorado, Rebecca A. Lopez and husband, Joseph of Nevada, and Barbara L. Tarro and husband, Steve of Texas; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; four brothers, and three sisters. Nora was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. Stabler -- William Lowe Stabler, 75, a resident of Albuquerque for 37 years, died Thursday, January 23, 2003, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Donna Stabler of Albuquerque; sisters, Nancy Stamper of Springfield, OH, Jeanne Long of Middletown, OH, Susan Keuthan of Palm Bay, FL; and brother, Thomas Stabler of Middletown, OH. He is also survived by sons; Russell Stabler of Mt. View, CA, Mark Stabler and wife, Kathleen of Albuquerque, Michael Hall of Germantown, OH, James Hall and wife, Denise of Middletown, OH; daughters, Elizabeth Hallett and husband, Russell of Belen, Amy Lord and husband, James of Albuquerque; as well as 12 grandchildren. His wife, Mary Jane Matson Stabler and his son, Timothy Stabler preceded him in death. Bill was born in Middletown, OH and earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. He was a member of the Catholic Church and quite active at Prince of Peace in Albuquerque. Bill was in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service where he was a Regional Engineer. He was President of the Mile High Optimist and served on Sandia Heights Board of Directors for many years. He was also a past Air Observer in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Rosary will be recited Monday, January 27, 2003, at 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 28, 2003, at 11:00 a.m., at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel Avenue NE, with Father Antonio Mondragon, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Suttles -- Orville T. Suttles, 88, died January 22, 2003, in Albuquerque. He had been a longtime resident of California and was a retired professional golfer. He was the son of Everett F. Suttles and Olla Gertrude. He is survived by his wife, Lena Ellen Suttles; sisters-in-law, Ruth E. Wright and Carmen Bryant; nephews, Gene F. Rice and wife, Ruth E. G. Rice, Jerry Rice and wife, Cheryl Rice; nieces Ruth Ann Saavedra and Mary Kay Johnson. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 28, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Vista Verde Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. "To my Honey, it's been difficult not having you around this past year. I will miss you more and more each day. You had a heart of gold. Vorhees -- Harold Guy Vorhees, age 87, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, January 23, 2003. He was born on July 16, 1915 to Raymond and Mabel Vorhees in St. Mary's, Ohio. His wife, Dorothy, daughter, Wendy Lippold; and son-in-law, John Lippold; a niece and nephew, Vicky Vacchiano and Donald Vorhees of Dayton Ohio; and four great-nieces and nephews survive him. Harold graduated from Eaton High School, Eaton, Ohio and began a long-term 43-year employment with Mobil Oil Co. Interrupted by three years in the military during World War II. He attended Washington University in St. Louis. His last assignment was Human Resources director for Mobil's European operations. While in London, he and his wife were one of the organizers of the American Church in London, a non-denominational church for Americans abroad. He moved to Albuquerque in 1975 upon his retirement. Family Graveside Services will be held at Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Heights Ohio. Waltzer -- Elmo Clarence (Walt) Waltzer, 88, died on Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at 1:45 p.m. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Margaret Allen Waltzer; daughters, Peggy Rosefeldt and Julie Flick both of New Orleans, LA and Winnie Waltzer-Hackett of Sandia Park, NM; grandchildren, Chad Flick, Francine Flick, Frank Flick, Bryan Flick, David Hackett, and Susan Hackett; and great-grandchildren, Alexa Flick-Brown and Jersey Flick. He is the son of the late Henry Waltzer and Julia Mayer and the brother of the late Paul Waltzer. Mr. Waltzer was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Lambeth House for the past three years. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1942 - 1946 and in the Naval Reserves until 1951. He earned his bachelor's degree from Tulane University in 1955 and worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for 37 years. He was an usher at St. Rita Church and St. Frances Cabrini Church. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at ST. Wright -- Hildred Margaret Nelson Wright, 96, a resident of Albuquerque for four years, died Tuesday, January 21, 2003. She is survived by her sons, H.W. Wright, Jr., attorney, and wife, Roberta of Bedford, TX, Col. James N. Hale U.S. Army (Ret.) of Phoenix, AZ and Jackson Bonnell Wright, attorney, of Albuquerque; daughter, Jill Wright-Boyd, author and husband, Anthony of Los Angeles, CA; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Alberta Bailey of Shreveport, LA, and Frances Stanley of Jet, OK. Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, H.W. Wright Sr., pioneering Attorney, County Judge and State Senator. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Hemmon; and sister, Doris Burkey. Born in a farm residence in Jet, OK in 1906, this remarkable woman lived the whole 20th Century. She graduated from Secretarial School in the 1920's, founded what is now Guarantee Abstract Company in Cherokee, OK, in the 1930's and ran it through the 1940's. She was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention twice, in 1936 and 1964. She wrote and published poetry and was listed in Who's Who of American Poets. She was an honored poet of the Poetry Society of Oklahoma and was the Poet Laureate of the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, President of the Democratic Women's Club of Oklahoma, State President of Kappa Sigma Fraternity Mothers Club and a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She was also a songwriter and her song"Oklahoma Lullaby" was on the official Centennial Album of the Cherokee Strip Land Run, 1993. She owned her own accounting firm and worked through 1987 as a Certified Accountant. She was working on a book of her memoirs,"Angel Wings" with her son, Jackson Wright, when she died. Cremation has taken place and her memorial service will be held in the United Methodist Church, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, February 1st, at 2:00 p.m.

Yerkes -- Charles Peters Yerkes Charles Yerkes died on January 22, 2003. Born May 30, 1920, Charles is survived by his sons, Chris Yerkes and wife, Kitty and children Kelly and Charles, and Craig yerkes and wife, Jun and Daughter Ting. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the University of Chicago in engineering, Charles was a dedicated family man having raised more children than his own. he actively contributed to each community he lived in, championing the causes of the arts, education and community service. His business career, in upper management, spanned decades and is considered instrumental in the advancement of data storage and information technologies. His private consulting firm advised companies such as Kodak and 3M, among others. After battling years of chronic illness and the recent loss of his spouse, Charles has found peace being reunited with Voni. A true gentleman, he will be missed.
