Baca -- Margaret Salazar Baca, 35, went home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2002. Margaret is preceded in death by her father, Tony Salazar. She was born on August 26, 1967 in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by one son, Brandon Baca; four brothers, Anthony Salazar and wife, Mary Jane, Carl Salazar and wife, Pauline, David Salazar and wife, Maria and Leroy Salazar; four sisters, Bernice Garcia, Cathy McErnie and husband, Henry, Berta Salazar and Irene Baca and husband, Steve; mother, Ernestine Salazar; one God-daughter Alyse Holguin and 12 nieces and nephews. Final viewing will be on Thursday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Mt. Brown -- Lucy Ruth Brown, 91, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, September 20, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Ellie Rucker of Austin, TX; sons, James F., Ted F., and Charles F. Brown, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Katy Lehman of Portales and Mildred Hudgens of Deming; eight grandchildren;and 22 great-grandchildren.¯ Preceding her in death were her husband, Theodore R. Brown; and her brother, Travis Brem of Deming. Ruth was a resident of Albuquerque for 70 years. She was born in Deming, NM on September 2, 1911 to J. Fletcher Brem and Willie Lee Mauldin.¯ Ruth's parents moved to New Mexico from Mississippi.¯Ruth had a special interest for the underprivileged and those who couldn't help themselves.¯ She supported the Navajo Indians financially, spiritually and medically at a time when few people had even heard of a Navajo. She supported Albuquerque Rescue Mission, as well as missions in Guatemala, Mexico, India and Africa. She was a founding member of Albuquerque'S Grace Church, President of Christian Women¯s Club, and past member of the Albuquerque Garden Club.¯Ruth was an active gardener and loved roses. A special acknowledgement is given to Helen and Carmen who so lovingly provided care for Ruth.¯ Services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2002, 2:00 p.m., at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Interment will follow. Burgoon -- Roger L. Burgoon, 40, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque passed away September 25, 2002 after a long illness. He is survived by his mother, Marsha L. Dickman and stepfather, John Dickman; his special friend, Maureen McCracken; sisters, Diana Erickson and husband, Paul, Debbie Kirkpatrick and husband, Gene, Jennifer Gambrel and husband, John; brothers, Mikel Dickman and wife, Susan, John Dickman and wife, Kori; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Burgoon. Roger was a 1981 graduate of Del Norte High School. Carter -- Angelina Rosina Carter, age 69, and a lifelong resident of New Mexico, died September 24, 2002. Angelina was preceded in death by her first husband Joe Carrillo in 1972. Fuentes -- Allen Patrick"Tamba" Fuentes, 30, loving son and brother, went to be with the Lord on September 23,2002. Allen was born in Albuquerque on June 19, 1972. He was known for his sense of humor, laughter and giving heart. Allen is survived by his parents, Lupe Sr. and Kathy Fuentes; brothers, Lupe Fuentes Jr. and Albert Fuentes Sr., both of Albuquerque. He also leaves behind his three nieces, Felicia, Marissa, and Selena Fuentes, of Albuquerque and nephew, Albert Jr. Allen holds a special place in the heart of his grandmother Albina Trujillo, who misses him so much. He was loved and will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.The soul departed in the Lord does not die, it returns to God, who is the giver of life. She is survived by her husband, Ricardo Garcia; son, Martin Garcia; daughter, Annamaria Cruz and husband, Oscar; sister, Juanita Gonzales and husband, Armando; five grandchildren, Danielle Salazar, Darren Saiz, Daniel Garcia, Eric Cruz and Rosemary Garcia; future grandson, Joshua Merced; and nieces, Monica Barraza and Norma Vigil. Hitchcock -- Warren E. Hitchcock, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, died Tuesday, September 24, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 11 years Delia F. Hitchcock, sons; Denis Hitchcock of Albuquerque, Jan Hitchcock of Dallas, Dale Hitchcock and wife Regina of Las Vegas, NV, and Boyd Hitchcock of Phoenix; daughter, Lynn Boldt and husband Ken of Albuquerque; step-children, Dindo and Judylyn Rojas; and grandchildren, Lorraine, Shawn, Sonya, Erik, and Evonne. Mr. Hitchcock served in the Army during WWII and was later retired from General Electric. He met his wife in the Philippines after corresponding with her for several years and brought her back to this country. Warren was an avid gardener and was especially proud of his tomatoes and prize-winning flowers. He also enjoyed going to the American Legion Post #49 with his wife where he was a member. Services will be held on Friday, September 27, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Chaplain Lemuel Boyles, Col. USAF, (Ret) officiating. Jackson -- Dorothea Marie Jackson, 76, quietly passed away September 21, 2002 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albuquerque. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Murray of Long Beach, CA; niece, Ms. Patricia Barlow of Dallas, TX; nephew, Hugh Barlow Jr. of Albuquerque; and a sole surviving aunt, Mrs. Dovie Washington of Albuquerque; also surviving are her cousins and two special friends, Mrs. Lovie Waites and Mrs. Patsy Givens Tryels. Dorothea was born January 1, 1926 in Austin, TX to Mr. Prince Barlow and Mrs. Precious Barlow both of whom precede her in death. Dorothea was also preceded in death by her husband, Sgt. Willie J. Jackson Jr.; and brother, Hugh Barlow Sr. Dorothea was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Dorothea's work life was spent as a business owner, bartender and entertainer. She was a member of Grant Chapel AME Church. Dorothea was a Daughter Elk in the Mahaliah Jackson Temple #1259 of the I. B. P. O. Mcdevitt -- Jack F. McDevitt, 79, died of cancer at Vista Hospice in St. Joseph's Monday, September 23, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. He leaves his wife of 25 years, Marcia McDevitt of Albuquerque; daughter, DaleAnn McDevitt of New Jersey; three step-children, Alex Stewart of CT, Peter Stewart of CT, and Susan Koeser of New Jersey; three grandchildren, Morgan, Carley, Kristopher all of New Jersey. Mr. McDevitt worked for 26 years at Nafec in Pomona N.J. He was a communications manager. Montano -- Willie Montano, 89, a long time resident of Los Lunas, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2002. Willie met the love of his life"Espidy", the girl one house over, while growing up in San Mateo, NM. They married in 1935 and moved to Gallup for seven years. They later moved to Los Lunas in 1947, where they lived the rest of their lives. Willie was a proud retiree after 30 years of dedicated service from Sandia Laboratories. He was a talented musician who could play every musical instrument. Every time there was a celebration at the Belen Senior Citizens Center, he could be found playing in the band. Willie was well known for his chili, corn, and fruit tree orchard. In his younger years, he loved to hunt big game and always came home with a trophy. But his true pride and joy was his grandchildren and family.¯ Preceding him in death was his beloved wife of 62 years, Espidy B. Montano in 1997; his three sisters, Refugio Gonzalez, Demetria Gonzalez, and Lala Jaramillo; and one brother, Candido Montano. He is survived by his children, Johnnie Montano of Albuquerque, Bessie Martinez, and Vickie Baca both of Los Lunas, Karen Romero of Tome; his 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugenio Montano; one sister, Ester Banner both of Albuquerque; and a nephew, Max Montano Sr. who was raised by Willie's mother, Adela Montano. He is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. in the Romero Funeral Home Chapel. Neal -- Mr. William A. (Bill) Neal, Jr. a longtime resident of Santa Fe, died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at The Cottages of Albuquerque, his"second home" during the final three years of his 15-year struggle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born on December 30, 1925 in Batesville, Arkansas and was a World War II US Navy Veteran, serving in the South Pacific theater. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and English. He and the former Beth Streetman were married on July 13, 1952 in the Little Chapel in the Woods on the campus of the Texas State College for Women in Denton. After a number of years in the newspaper business, Bill made a career change to professional association management. He held executive positions with the Texas Insurance Association and the Texas Daily Newspaper Association. After moving to Santa Fe, Bill served as the first Director of Public Relations for the State of New Mexico's Vocational Rehabilitation Division. Prior to his retirement in 1989, he served for 12 years as Executive Vice President of the Realtors Association of New Mexico in Santa Fe. Bill was a Life Member of the Public Relations Society of America and a past President of the New Mexico Chapter. He belonged to the National Association of Realtors and was elected to their Omega Tau Rho Society. He was also a member and past President of the Downtown Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe. Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Alfred Neal, Sr., in 1965; his mother, Dorotha Naomi Neal, in 1993; his two brothers, Leonard Fowler Neal, in 1966 and Billy Gene Neal, in 1981. Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Beth; daughter, Leslie Elizabeth Neal;"grand-cat", Whimsy; and much loved"Cottages Family", all of Albuquerque. His loving spirit and wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed. Whenever you see a field of beautiful New Mexico wildflowers, think of Bill. Peace and happiness to a beloved husband and Daddy. He was the son of Morris Simeon Rominger and Carrie Edith Fisher Rominger. He married Doris Jeannette Hiatt May 15, 1943 in Knoxville, TN. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris of Silver City; two sons, Lanny Rominger and his wife, Susan of Albuquerque; David Rominger and his wife, Loisann of Deming; four granddaughters, Jennifer Rominger, Jamie Rominger, Kelly Rominger and Kacy Rominger all of Albuquerque; two grandsons, Burton Rominger with the Marine Crops in Okinawa and Jon Rominger with the Special Forces in Ft. Benning, GA. After graduating from high school, he was recruited to New Mexico along with several other"Hoosiers" by coach Ken Gunning to play basketball for what was then known as New Mexico Teachers College. Over the next four years the Mustangs became a powerhouse in the old New Mexico conference that included such schools as U.N.M and U.T.E.P. The team won two conference championships and twice participated in the national Championship Tournament in Kansas City. They also registered a long remembered and much celebrated win against U.C.L.A. in the 1940 Western Regional Tournament and were ranked 11th in the final Associated Press Poll that year. His education was interrupted by World War II. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1943 and served as an officer and bombardier aboard a B-24"Liberator" bomber in the Pacific Theater. After discharge from active duty he finished his Bachelor's Degree at New Mexico Teachers and returned to Indiana where he enrolled in Indiana University in Bloomington where he earned his Master's Degree as a member of I. U.'s first ever class of Physical Science. After a brief coaching stint in Indiana he returned to New Mexico where he taught and coached basketball, football, baseball and tennis during the thirty-six years prior to his retirement. He worked in the Cliff, Cobre, Tularosa, Gadsden and Silver Consolidated School Districts during his career. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Gilbert Arizaga; Bobby Benavidez; Gene Boaz; Lennial Rambo; Mike Trujillo and Dean Bearup. In lieu of flowers, it was his wish and that of the family that any remembrances be directed to the Grant County Humane Association, P.O. Box 1972 Silver City, NM 88062 or to the Athletic Scholarship Fund at Western New Mexico University, P.O.Box 680, Silver City, NM 88062. Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Tully -- Gerald Tully, 99. A Memorial Servie for Gerald Tully of Glencoe, NM will be Sunday, September 29, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. at the Tully Ranch. Mr. Tully died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at his home. He was born July 12, 1903 at Ft. Stanton and had lived in Lincoln County all of his life. He was a rancher and attended St. Anne's Episcopal Church. He married Wynema Hutchison on November 9, 1940 at Glencoe. He is survived by his wife, Wynema of Glencoe; son, Gerry Tully and his wife, Jane of Glencoe; three daughters, Toni Barrow and her husband, mark of Belen, Pam Bernard of Ruidoso downs, Tricia Tully and her husband, Gary Mitchell of Glencoe; eight grandchildren, Mackey Tully and his wife, Kelli, Malaika Tully, Brett Barrow, Bryce Perry, Tee Bernard, Colter Mitchell and his wife, Jill, Shilo Mitchell and Jessie Tully-Mitchell; and one great-grandchildren, Grant Mitchell. Arrangements are under the direction of La Grone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso.

Whitson -- Ralph W. Whitson, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 22, 2002. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marjorie; daughter, Cheryl Cox and husband, Stanley of Omaha, NE; sons, John Whitson and wife, Gayle of Perth, Australia, Paul Whitson and wife Nancy, James Whitson and wife Stephanie, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Joseph Cox and wife Michelle, Kimball Vredeveld and husband Kevin, Mollie Whitson, Luke Whitson, Ashley Whitson, Michael Whitson, Jennifer Whitson and Whitney Whitson; and great-grandson, Joshua Joseph Cox. Ralph was born in Payson, Utah on October 17, 1913. He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a master mechanic for U & I Sugar Company in Utah, Idaho, South Dakota and Montana, before enlisting in the U.S. Navy as an Ensign. He served three years in the South Pacific as a flag secretary before being discharged in 1945 as a Lieutenant Commander. In 1945 he married Marjorie Kimball, and in 1950 they relocated to Albuquerque where he worked at Sandia Laboratories until his retirement in 1973. He was active in Boy Scouts and served as an elder and trustee at Immanuel Presbyterian Church. He also served on the board of Sandia Labs Federal Credit Union. Ralph enjoyed traveling and was an enthusiastic supporter of his children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 27th, 11:00 a.m., at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle SE. Wolfe -- Mary Helen Wolfe passed to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at the age of 84. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim Wolfe of Albuquerque; sons, Greg Wolfe of Albuquerque, Rev. Gary Wolfe and wife, Beckey of Carlsbad, NM; granddaughters, Christie Almon and husband, Russell of Plainview, TX and Carrie Wolfe of Lubbock, TX; beloved great-granddaughter, Damaris Mikaelia Almon of Plainview, TX; sister, Leona Maloney and husband, Tom of Albuquerque; and brother, Bill Gregory and wife, Dany of Danville, CA. She leaves behind several wonderful friends and neighbors who have been such a great help to her during this time of illness, but looked forward to being with Jesus and loved ones and friends who have gone before her. Helen was preceded in death by her father and mother, Bill and Opal Gregory, one sister, Norma Jean Gregory; and three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was a member of Sandia Baptist Church in Albuquerque, and she was a founding member of the Albuquerque Association for Retarded Citizens.
