Barnhill -- Kenneth S. Barnhill Jr., born August 2, 1928 in Mesilla Park, New Mexico. Son of Rega and Kenneth Barnhill, Kenneth spent his career as a mining engineer. He was active for many years in the Episcopal Church, serving for a period of time as the business manager of St. John's Cathedral. He helped start an Episcopal Mission in Los Lunas and was serving on the Episcopal Diocesan Council and the Camp Stoney Board. He was also serving on the Board of Directors for New Heart Inc. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Boney Barnhill; daughter, Jane Barnhill Sanders and her husband, Clayton Sanders of Houston, Texas; daughter, Martha Barnhill Martin; and granddaughter, Maryjane Elizabeth Martin of Pocatello, Idaho. Barraclough -- Edmund Lee"Barry" Barraclough passed away in his sleep early on the morning of July 11, 2002 at the age of 84 after a 26-year long courageous battle with prostate cancer. Born 5 June, 1918 in Beaver, Utah to a Mormon pioneering family, he was firstborn of the six children of Edmund Steele Barraclough and Ida May Lee. A member of the CCC in the Great Depression, he was a veritable Isaac Walton of sportsmen, a lifelong hunter and fisherman, and an employee of the U.S. Forestry Service. Serving as a B-17 squadron leader in the Eighth Air Force stationed in England during World War II, he led 25 missions over Nazi Germany for which he was awarded the Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross with double oak leaf cluster. He served as an officer of the USAF for 26 years and was retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1967. Continuing his career as a nuclear physicist, he was employed by the AEC (later the DOE) as a specialist in nuclear safety until his retirement. He was married for 42 years to Mary Elizabeth Yirka Barraclough who predeceased him and for nearly a decade to Lois Bergin Barraclough who was by his side until the end. A resident of Albuquerque for some 50 years, Barry is survived by his wife, Lois, of the family home; by his son, Bruce Lee Barraclough of Los Alamos; and his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Barraclough of Albuquerque. Also surviving are his brothers-in-law and spirit, Bernard Yirka and Robert Yirka; his daughter-in-law Maureen; two grandsons, Jamie and Brendan Barraclough; a brother, Don; and three sisters, Lorraine, Shirley, and Fay of Tooele, Utah. Beloved by all, Edmund Lee Barraclough bore the true mark of a man brave until the end. He shall be sorely missed. Cremation by Sunrise Society with memorial service to be announced.

Bennett -- Robert L. Bennett, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, died Thursday, July 11, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cleota Bennett of Albuquerque; sons, William P. Bennett and wife, Carolyn of Vicksburg, MS, Leo A. Bennett and wife, Gail of Naples, FL, David L. Bennett of Riverdale, MD and Robert W. Bennett of La Mirada, CA; daughter, JoAnne C. Bennett of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Prudence Doxtator of Oneida, WI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, John C. Bennett. Mr. Bennett served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post 49. He was a Charter Member of Four Hills Country Club, as well as a member of the Haskell Alumni Club of New Mexico. Mr. Bennett was the former Area Director and Commissioner of the Bureau of Indian Affairs and received numerous awards in recognition for his service. Rosary will be recited Monday, July 15, 2002, at 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Services will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Monday, July 15, 2002, from 5:00 p.m. until time of rosary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Futures for Children, 9600 Tennyson St. NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87122. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.

Evanko -- Eric J. Evanko, 36, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, July 6, 2002. He is survived by his family including his parents, William and Margaret Evanko; siblings, Tony Evanko, LeeAnne Smith, Mark Evanko, Teresa Evanko-Bilello, Greg Evanko, Steve Evanko; and nieces, Alie Smith, Lauren Smith, Zoe Bilello and Anna Bilello. Eric was the youngest of eight children. He attended Our Lady of Annunciation School and graduated from Sandia High School in 1983. Eric was a talented musician and builder, beloved son, brother and friend to many. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Finley -- Jack L. Finley, 82, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away July 11, 2002 from complications of a stroke. He was born October 23, 1919, in Los Angeles California. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Gertrude for 62 years, sons Gary and wife Nancy, Dana and wife Susie, brother Al Hutchings and Aunt Wanona Saunders both of California. His grandchildren, Garth Finley and his wife Lisa of Cornelius, N.C., Heather Finley of Arlington, TX. Derrick Finley of Mooresville, N.C. and Tiffany and husband Steve Winrich of Albuquerque were special treasures to him and they adored him. He is also survived by many other loving nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends who also suffer by his loss. Jack was preceded in death by his father, Jess and mother Exa. Jack graduated from Albuquerque High and was a student at the University of New Mexico when the New Mexico National Guard regiment, which became the 200th Coast Artillery was called to active duty. Jack was a Bataan Death March survivor and spent 3 years in Japanese concentration camps during WWII. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for his achievements in the Southwest Pacific Theater. After retiring from the Army in 1960, Jack worked for the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC), now DOE and retired in 1975. Jack was a past member of the Shriners, Elks and Post 49. Jack loved spending his summers in Idaho and being with his many friends. He also enjoyed playing cards with family, playing the organ and watching most sports especially boxing and car racing. Jack will be remembered for many things including his wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by everyone who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Strong-Thorne Mortuary at 1100 Coal AV SE on Wednesday , July 17, 2002 at 2:00 pm. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials honoring Jack be sent to the charties of their choice.

Gober -- Constantine (Dene) K. Gober was born to eternal life on June 19, 2002 at his home in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his six loving children, Mary Patrice Gober Fisher and husband, Robin Fisher, Chris Konstantine Gober, Dena Gober Dalton and husband, Mike Dalton, James Konstantine Gober, Alexander Konstantine Gober, Nicolette Gober Shaw and husband, Randall Shaw. Dene was the proud"Popou" of five beautiful grandchildren, Ryanne Alexandra Dalton, Rebecca Delong Dalton, Konstantine (Conor) Chris Gober, Katherine Ruth Gober, and Olivia Colette Shaw. He leaves behind his sister, Eleni Gober Spheeris; niece, Calliope Spheeris; and nephews, John Spheeris and Chris Spheeris; and numerous other relatives and friends worldwide. Dene joins his parents, Chris K. and Calliope Gober; beloved brother, James Gober; his grandparents, Archimandrite Chris and Dimitra Nanopoulos, Constantine and Eleni Gober in the kingdom of Heaven. Dene was a successful businessman, avid hunter and sportsman. The depth of his thought and wit, his charm and passionate spirit were immeasurable. Dene's"joire de vivre" will be greatly missed by those who loved him most. The family extends their sincere and heart felt appreciation to Maxim Health Care and Lovelace Medical Center as well as Father Mario Giannopoulos of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Albuquerque.

Lee -- R. G. Lee, Jr. passed away in Albuquerque on July 2, 2002. He was the beloved husband of the late Thelma Hoit Lee for 43 years and the late Mia (Florence) Elkins Lee for four years. R.G. was predeceased by his mother, Elma Lee. He is survived by his children and grandchildren, son, Chuck Lee, his wife, Sandra Lee and their daughter, Charlotte of Magnolia, TX, and daughter, Helen Lee-Bryant, her husband, Michael Bryant and their son, Matthew of Santa Rosa, CA. He is also survived by his wonderful friends, Herman Hood and Dorothy Concha of Albuquerque. R. G. was born in Wichita Falls, TX in 1925 and moved to Albuquerque while in high school. He graduated from Albuquerque High and was a graduate of the UNM School of Engineering. A true patriot, he enlisted at 18 and served in the US Army Air Force during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theater with the 44th Bombardment Group. He was the manager of Pacific Desk Company with his father-in-law, Charles Hoit for over 30 years, but his first love was his structural engineering work. R.G. was a licensed P.E. for nearly 50 years. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Sunrise Society of New Mexico. If desired, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the local Humane Society or Presbyterian Hospice, 8100 Constitution Place NE, Albuq., NM 87110 would be appreciated.

Lodal -- Winifred A. Lodal, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, died July 11, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Cary H. Lodal. She is survived by her daughters Kathryn Ripperger and husband, Jack of Grand Rapids, MI and Karen Lodal of Albuquerque; son, William Lodal and wife, Shelly of Mansfield, TX; grandchildren, Lisa and Matthew Ripperger of New York, NY, Brian and Scott Lodal of Ft. Worth, TX, and Kristin Lodal of Mansfield, TX; sister, Elinor Wimberly of Austin, TX. In 1934 she graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. As a member of Central United Methodist Church she was an active participant in the women's group. Wini filled the hearts and minds of those who surrounded her with love and compassion. She will be forever cherished in the hearts of those she so dearly loved and cared for through out her joyous life. Lopez -- Margie Maes Lopez a long time resident of Los Lunas, passed away peacefully, after a long illness, on Friday, July 12, 2002. She was preceded in death by her daughter Dorothy Dominguez in 1998, her granddaughter Maggie Mae Dominguez in 1995, her brother Jimmy W. Maes in 1986 and her father Prudencio E. Maes in 1965. Cremation has taken place. A family visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:30pm until 7:00pm in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 pm, her nephew, Pastor Anthony Maes will preside. Metheny -- Charles Edward Metheny, 64, a resident of Albuquerque for 56 years, died Thursday, July 11, 2002 after a long battle with cancer. Miera -- Alice G. Miera, 84, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, died peacefully Wednesday, July 10, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Louis Miera of Albuquerque, they were married September 27, 1937 by Father Stoeffel who also had married Mr. Miera's parents; daughter, Anita Miera Ferm and husband, Commander Dennis W. Anthony Ferm of Patuxent, MD; great-grandson, Dennis W."Tripper" Ferm III; brothers, Dr. Eloy R. Gutierrez and wife, Cecilia and Frank L. Muchmore -- Lucille Muchmore a remarkable mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed into the hands of God on July 11, 2002 at Lifecare Hospital in Dallas. She was born in Thicket, TX on July 9, 1915 to Ernest James Williams and John Ethel Williams. In her eight years, Lucille, was a 1st Lt. in the Army Nurse Corps, a registered Nurse, a columnist of"Just Looking", for the Apline Avalance for over 15, years, an amateur geologist and writer. Lucille lived on Terlingua Ranch in the Big Bend Country for over 22 years, where she also wrote the Ranch News for several years. She served on the board of directors for the ranch and left in 1998, living independently until the age of 82. Lucille was an Eastern Star, a member of the American Legion Post 121, a member of the Tom A. Lambert Drama Club of Cooper, a member of the Episcopal Church in Terlingua and attended the First Methodist Church in Cooper. She had lived in Cooper the past four years. November 2, 1941, Mrs. Muchmore married the love of her life, Roy Laverne Muchmore and together reared their six children, son, Jay Muchmore, Albuquerque; daughters, Gail Cuneo and husband, Bill, Fairfield, CA, May (Bennie) Sisson, Cooper, TX, Frances Cason, Fort Worth, TX; son, Kenneth Muchmore and wife, Frnaces, Bakersfield, CA; sister, Ann Brumby and husband, Burt, Balmorhea, TX; brother, Jay Williams and wife, Bertha, Houston, TX; adoptive son, Jose Hinjose, Balmorhea, TX; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many many close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Muchmore in 1972; and son, Roy Arthur Muchmore. Park -- David Edward Park, 79, died unexpectedly at his home in T or C, NM. David was born in Denver, CO, on November 27, 1922, to Eleanor and Dave Park and graduated from high school in Craig, CO. He was married to Anita Sanchez of Albuquerque. David owned several businesses in Albuquerque including Fairgrounds Body Shop, East Central Auto Wrecking, and General Salvage Super, a partnership with his son Edward. He was a member Full Gospel Businessmen's Association and the Auto Dismantlers Association of New Mexico. David and his wife retired in 1988 and moved to T or C where they built a log cabin. David enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales hunting for bargains. He loved studying Scripture and prophecies and attending churches all over New Mexico. David was a dedicated Christian who was admired and respected by people of all faiths. David is survived by his brother, William Park of Spring, TX; and his sister, Frances Haussaman of Albuquerque; his son, Edward D. Park and wife, Deborah of Albuquerque; daughter Veronica Valencourt and husband Joel of Hibbing, MN; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 900 Southern Blvd., Rio Rancho, NM. Sullins -- Astrid (Ozzie) Hilda Helena Oberg Sullins, born April 1, 1917 in Chicago, IL, a resident of"Westwind House" assisted living in Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord on Friday, July 12, 2002. Astrid's parents immigrated in the early 1900's from Sweden and she grew up in Chicago. The family moved to a farm during the Depression, and she graduated from Capron, IL's Capron High School in 1935. After college she moved to New Mexico in 1946 and continued her business career. She enjoyed collecting teddy bears, being a housewife and making her great roast for all her family to enjoy. Ozzie was also a life member of the Scandinavian Club of Albuquerque which is devoted to enhancing Scandinavian culture in New Mexico. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Walker -- Major Raymond D. Walker, USAF Retired, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, died Friday, July 12, 2002.
