Dark -- Michael Francis Dark, age 37, passed away on July 4, 2002 due to complications from juvenile-onset Diabetes Mellitus. He had lived in Albuquerque since 1978 after moving with his family from England. He worked as a mechanic at Flash Automotive for many years and enjoyed drag-bike racing. He is survived by his son, Ryan and his mother, Trish; his parents, John E. Dark, Sr. and Gillian Dark; and his brother, John E. Dark, Jr. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2002 at Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Jadus -- Gregory Jadus, 32, chief pilot for Aerowest Helicopters of Albuquerque, New Mexico, a former resident of Sleepy Hollow, NY, died on Thursday, June 27, 2002. Born in North Tarrytown on December 9, 1969, he was the son of John F. and Linda Ugalde Jadus. Gregory attended Transfiguration School and graduated from Stepinac High School. He attended Daniel Webster College in New Hampshire where he graduated with a BA in Flight Aviation and Business Management. After graduation he pursued a career as a helicopter pilot, a profession at which he excelled and truly loved. He is survived by his devoted parents of Sleepy Hollow, NY; by his former wife and close friend, Kristen (Kiki) Jadus; by his loving sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Nicholas Scazafave of Tarrytown, NY; and by his God-daughter, Alena Maria; and nephew, Nicholas John Scazafave. Greg is also survived by his loving family in Albuquerque, Sandi and Richard Hoover; Greg's brother- and sister-in-law, Michael and Jolayne Hoover; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Dwyer Funeral Home, Tarrytown, NY handled the arrangements, and Greg was interred at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in North Tarrytown, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, New Mexico/El Paso Chapter, 3150 Carlisle NE, Suite 35, Albuquerque, NM 87110, would be appreciated. Greg will be deeply missed by his family and friends in Albuquerque. There will be a Memorial Service held at the Aerowest Helicopters Hangar at Double Eagle II Airport at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2002.

Leachman -- Carol Leachman, 65, a resident of Albuquerque for five years, died Thursday, July 4, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dr. Reid Leachman of Albuquerque; sons, Dr. Mike Leachman and wife, Janeen of Spokane, WA, Andy Leachman and wife, Shelley of Lancaster, CA, Dr. David Leachman and wife, Lorraine of Albuquerque, and Joe Leachman and wife, Jenny of Orange County, CA; grandchildren, Stephanie, Eric, Ryan, Stephen, Mason, Reagan and Jade. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Elisabeth Leachman. Services will be Monday, July 8, 2002, 9:30 a.m., at Mountainside Church of Christ, 12300 Indian School NE. Mims -- Elizabeth Mims, 42, a resident of Albuquerque for three years, died Sunday, June 30, 2002. She is survived by her parents, Roy and Eileen Torcaso of Wheaton, MD; sister, Linda Berstein and husband, Mark of Philadelphia, PA; and brother, Bill Torcaso and fiance, Kate Menard of Boston, MA. Mrs. Mims was the treasurer of the Green Party of New Mexico. She also served as the field coordinator for NADER 2000 New Mexico. Elizabeth attended services at the Albuquerque Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Cremation has taken place. She will be memorialized at the 11:00 a.m. service this Sunday, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, held at the La Posada Hotel, 2nd and Central. Nellos -- Nicholas Constantine Nellos, 39, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, was taken from us suddenly on Wednesday, July 3, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Michelle; son, Tino Nellos; daughters, Alex and Isabela Nellos; father, Connie Nellos, mothers, Bonnie Buntjer and Jan Nellos; father and mother-in-law, Irving and Lili Bennett of Panama; grandparents, Donna Foor, Jim and Betty Kelley of Baird, TX; brothers, John Nellos of Albuquerque and Jeff Spencer of Baird, TX; sisters, Joanna Nellos and Jennifer Buntjer; and numerous aunts, cousins, and friends. Nick was a mechanical engineer and owned Thomsen Nellos Engineering. He was past president of New Mexico Chapter of ASHRAE. Nick was an extraordinary loving and giving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson and friend who will be remembered fondly by all. There will be a Private Greek Orthodox Service celebrated by Father Mario Giannopoulos Saturday morning. Pacheco -- Alfonzo"Al" Pacheco, 58, a resident of Albuquerque since 1981, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carmen Pacheco of the family home; sons, Ernest Pacheco of Dallas, TX and David Pacheco and wife, Beverly of Albuquerque; daughter, Susannah Wolverton and fiancé, James Hoefert of Albuquerque; two grandchildren; sisters, Viola Rose and husband, John of Raton, NM, Marie Pacheco of Albuquerque, Ernestine Montoya and husband, Ignacio of Taos, NM and Linda Esquibel and husband, Belarmino of Santa Fe, NM; and numerous friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Clodovea Pacheco; two infant brothers; and one sister. Mr. Pacheco was a retired Master Sgt. with the U.S.A.F. He received his bachelor's degree in business from the University of Albuquerque. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Viola Rose reciting. Rantanen -- Leo Edward Rantanen, beloved husband, father, son, and brother passed away suddenly on July 4, 2002 due to an unfortunate accident participating in a sport he loved. He was 39 years old and leaves behind a loving wife of 9 1/2 years, Laurie Rantanen; four children, Tanya, age 16, Nathan, age 16, Travis, age 14, and Jourdan, age 8; his mother-in-law, Jacquelyn; his mother, Yukie; his father, Donald; a sister, Tina; and a brother, Lloyd and wife, Shari and two sons, Kyle and Cody. Starr -- Michael Starr, born October 25, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away July 2, 2002. He lived in Albuquerque for 25 years, owning Second Chance Antique Store in Nob Hill. He worked at Honeywell as an electronics technician in the 1980's. He had been self-employed since 1992. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Starr. Strasburg -- Edna M. Strasburg, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died Friday, July 5, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Arnold C. Strasburg of Albuquerque; daughter, Rebecca Ann Blackstone and husband, Stanley of Del Rio, TX. Edna was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a life member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Auxiliary and Lovelace Medical Foundation Auxiliary. Edna was an active volunteer at Lovelace Medical Center from 1961 to 1999. Trujillo -- Rupertita (Pita) Trujillo, 86, a lifetime resident of New Mexico, and a longtime resident of the Albuquerque and Bernalillo area, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2002. Pita was born November 30, 1915 the daughter of Reyes and Mary Sanchez Olivas in Mosquero, New Mexico. She had worked in the Harding County Treasurers Office before becoming a Librarian in the Albuquerque Public Schools and retiring after 20 years. Pita was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Pita was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Trujillo in May of 1991; and three brothers, Frank, Felix, and Reyes Olivas, Jr. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Eloy Olivas and wife, Nancy of Cranbrook, B. C., Canada, Amanda Salazar and husband, Vidal of Bernalillo, NM, Gilbert Olivas of Bernalillo, NM, and Mary Rose Baca and husband, Bill of Denver Co; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. The Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2002 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2002 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 8 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrws Catholic Church with Fr. Virgil Furfaro as the Celebrant. Weil -- Monica S. Weil, 72, grandmother, mother, and a talented seamstress and dear friend died peacefully on Saturday evening, June 29, 2002 at the Cottages of Albuquerque. She had been diagnosed in 1996 with atypical Alzheimer's Disease. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Otmar Ritter; and then later by her second husband, Edwin H. Weil, Jr. She is survived by her son, Bert Weil; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jeff Stuyvesant; her grandchildren, Jeremiah Weil, Brandy Leyba, and Rachel, Joshua, Lucas and Zachary Stuyvesant; and her great-grandchildren, Michael and Julian Leyba. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, August 3, 2002 between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. For further information contact her daughter, Debbie. Yocum -- Virgina Yocum, age 76, and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque died July 3, 2002. Survivors include daughter, Katherine Cline of TX; son, John Cawley of NM; sister Dorothy Bennett of NM; grandchildren, Brandon Cline, Deward Yocum II, Edward Willis Jr., David Willis and Steven Willis; six great-grandchildren.
