Atencio -- Andrew"Andy" Atencio, age 85, and a lifelong resident of New Mexico and originally of Mora, died July 2, 2002 in Albuquerque. Survivors include his wife - Grace Atencio of Albuquerque; daughters - Rose Marie Rodriguez of Albuquerque, Patsy Cizan and husband Clifford of TX; son - Bill Atencio and wife Lupe of Albuquerque; brothers - Al Atencio and wife Charlotte of Albuquerque, Louie Atencio and wife Rose, Martin Atencio and wife Priscilla of CO; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; Monique, Retta, Pam, Liz, Carlos, Heidi, Trish, Christina, and Jackie. Andy worked for Dicus Beauty & Barber Supply for 25 years and Strombergs for 24 years; he enjoyed working in his yard and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. A memorial mass will be held 9:00 am, Saturday, July 6, 2002 at our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Cano -- Benjamin Cano Magallanes, 69, a resident of New Mexico passed away on July 3, 2002. Mr. Cano is the beloved husband of 41 years to Mrs. Lilia Cano. He is also survived by four daughters, Minnie Gomez and husband Alberto, Julieta Cano and Arturo Avita, Ortencia Rascon and Luis and Leticia Saez; four sons, Benjamin Cano and wife Socorro, Raul Ramon Cano and wife Elsa, Luis Cano and wife Nora, Alejandro Saez; six brothers, Ramon Cano, Raul Cano, Francisco Cano, Octavio Cano, Jesus Cano and Noe Cano; three sisters, Manuela Cano, Maria Cano and Margarita Cano; 30 Grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Benjamin was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation will be Friday evening after 5:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Margarita and Maria Cano. A final visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 552 Atrisco SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00am by Father Manuel Viera. Cooper -- Charles Joseph Cooper was born January 20, 1937 and passed away at his home July 1, 2002, in the presence of his loving family.¯ He Founded Cooper- Griffin Water Services in 1974 and sold it at retirement to Carlos V. Dietzman -- Frederic B. Dietzman, 86, of Gallup, NM died Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at Grants Good Samaritan Center in Grants, NM. He was born May 18, 1916 in Gallup, NM and was a lifetime resident. Mr. Dietzman was a member of Scottish Rite Shrine, Masonic Honors Royal Order of Scotland, Red Cross of Constantine, Sovereign of NA, Knight Masons in which he was a KYCH, Royal Order of Jesters, and Lebanon Lodge #22. He served as Demolay Dad for eleven years. He was a member of Knight Templar since 1984. He also belonged to the Royal Arch Masons and Royal and Select Masons. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in World War II. Retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after serving 45 years as a conductor. Mr. Dietzman was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, July 5, 2002 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rollie Mortuary, 401 E. Gabriele -- Victor W. ¯Squeaky¯ Gabriele, 76, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, June 30, 2002. He is survived by his sons, Vic Gabriele and wife Clara, Fred Gabriele and James P. Gabriele and wife Valerie; daughters, Pamela ¯Bunny¯ Gabriele, all of Albuquerque and Jody Evans and husband, Lee of Katy, Texas; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Ellen Wolfe of Long Beach, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy M. Gabriele; sister, Betty Toledo; and grandson, Sean Gabriele. Victor was employed by the U.S. Postal Service since 1954. He was an Army Veteran and served as an interpreter during WWII. Victor was also a member of the Elks, The DAV, American Legion Post 13 and numerous other veteran groups. He was a lifetime member of Faith Chapel and a Southwestern Fine Arts Collector and Appraiser. Gallegos -- Kendra Louise Gallegos, 49, of Burwell, NE died on June 30, 2002 at the Valley County Nursing Home at Ord, NE. Kendra was cremated. Memorial Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2002 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burwell, NE. Rev. Fr. Bernard Berger will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the church. Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell, NE is in charge of arrangements. Kendra was born October 2, 1952 in Albuquerque, NM to Kenneth and Elaine (Beaudoin) Beers. Kendra married Richard Gallegos on October 17, 1981 in Albuquerque. They lived there for six months before moving to Burwell, NE in April of 1982. Kendra worked in health care as a Certified Nurses Assistant. Kendra enjoyed quilting and loved to be around all her friends. Kendra is survived by her husband, Richard Gallegos of Burwell, NE; her mother, Elaine Beers of Burwell, NE; one step-son and his wife, Mario and Andriana Gallegos of Albuquerque; one step-grandson, Frank Gallegos; one brother and his wife, Kevin and Sandy Beers of Littleton, CO; one sister and her husband, Gayle and Pete Ewell of Pomaroy, WA; two nephews, Sean and Kenny Beers and two nieces, Deana Speck and Colleen Berkompas; one brother-in-law, Tom and Janet Gallegos of Farmington, NM; two sisters-in-law, Pat Gallegos and Mary and Clyde Segura all of Albuquerque; and a dear friend, Ed Gurule of Albuquerque. Hoselton -- Michael W. Hoselton, a resident of Belen, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2002. He was a member of Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley in Belen. Michael worked for Jim's Tree Service and he loved all outdoor sports including hunting and fishing. He was a Gold Medallist State-Champion wrestler in New Jersey and went undefeated for one year. He was a strong family man and his wife and son were his life. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Manuel and Cecilia Jaramillo; his paternal grandparents, Albert and Myrtle Hoselton; his uncle and aunt, Joseph and Annabelle Perea. He is survived by his loving wife of three years, Maria and their son, Michael Tyler, both of the family home in Belen; his parents, Bud and Mary Lou Hoselton; his three siblings, Oscar and his wife, Celeste; Jim and his wife, Sandra, all of Belen; Tami Sanchez and her husband, John of Albuquerque, NM; his loving nephews and one niece, John Costanza, Oscar"Bud" III, Cody, Casey, and Joshua Hoselton, Alexis and Zachary Sanchez; his father and mother in-law, Victor and Lupe Padilla of Belen; his Godparents, Aunt Linda and Uncle Bill Coupe; and his Uncle Richard and Aunt Elsie Lock; Uncle Lorenzo"Sonny" Jaramillo; Uncle Frank Jaramillo; Uncle Robert (Bob) and Aunt Geraldine (Geri) Thompson; Uncle Albert (Eugene); Aunt Barbara; and Aunt Dolly Hoselton; and Uncle Tim and Aunt Polly McCorry. Kirmer-Bell -- Kirmer- Alexis Jade Kirmer-Bell, "Our Precious Little Angel", infant daughter of Bryan Kirmer and JoAnn Bell, died Sunday, June 30, 2002. She is also survived by her grandparents, John and Kathy Bell of Tijeras, Robert and Lois Dickie of Los Lunas, and Irwin Kirmer of San Francisco, CA; great-grandparents, John and Regina Muller of Albuquerque, Kenneth and Theresa Wagner of Homer City, PA; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lauffenburger -- Sarah Elizabeth Lauffenburger, 40, of Miami Beach, FL died Monday, July 1, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her brother, Arthur, 1999; and is survived by her parents, Arthur and Patricia Lauffenburger of Albuquerque; sister, Winnie Comyford and her husband, Glen; nephew, Justin Comyford; niece, Brandy Crowder and her husband, Nathan. Sarah resided in Miami Beach, where she was a member of the Miami Beach Beautification Committee. She was a respected business owner of Eclectus inc., which oversaw the renovation of historically renowned hotels in Miami Beach. Her passions included music, and rare eclectic Collectibles Her warmth and loving nature will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mims -- Elizabeth Mims, 42, a resident of Albuquerque for three years, died Sunday, June 30, 2002. She is survived by her parents, Roy and Eileen Torcaso of Wheaton, MD; sister, Linda Berstein and husband, Mark of Philadelphia, PA; and brother, Bill Torcaso and fiance, Kate Menard of Boston, MA. Mrs. Mims was the treasurer of the Green Party of New Mexico. She also served as the field coordinator for NADER 2000 New Mexico. Elizabeth attended services at the Albuquerque Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Cremation has taken place. She will be memorialized at the 11:00 a.m. service this Sunday, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, held at the La Posada Hotel, 2nd and Central. Pino -- John M. Pino, Jr. age 102, beloved and devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend was welcomed into the arms of the Lord our Savior, Tuesday, July 2, 2002. Mr. Pino was born in Paguate, NM and was a resident of Paraje/Casa Blanca; he retired from the Santa Fe Railroad. Mr. Pino was a nationally recognized Senior Olympian and honored as a 2002 Olympic Torchbearer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Pino; a son, Albert Pino; a daughter, K-Rose Pino; and a grandson, Shawn Little. Mr. Pino is survived by his loving children, Willie Pino and wife Betty, Chester Pino, Edith Atencio and husband Thomas, Vivian Little and husband Gene, Mary, Patricia and Pauline Pino; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Josephita Cheromiah, Leonard Pino, Pedro Pino, Olinda Mondragon, Joseph Aragon, Denny Sice and wife Edith, Ruth Garcia, and Edna Chavez; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Turbett -- William W. Turbett, 84, died July 1, 2002 after a lengthy bout with cancer. Born in Bayonne, NJ, he was a highly decorated combat Veteran in WWII. Following his military service, he moved to Albuquerque in 1953 to begin what would be a 40 year career as an insurance company executive. Bill and his wife of almost 50 years, Cynthia, were charter members of the Tennis Club of Albuquerque, and were very active there until Cynthia's death in 1996. Mr. Turbett is survived by his four children, son, Peter Turbett and his wife, Marsha of Houston Texas, son, Thomas Turbett of Albuquerque, daughter, Anne Turbett, M.D. of Las Cruces, and daughter, Nancy Turbett of Albuquerque. He is also survived by one grandson, Teddy Turbett, of Houston. The family would also like to acknowledge Deb Boehme, a family friend who provided much care and comfort over the years. Burial will take place in a Private Family Ceremony at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, but the family would like to invite Bill's many friends to join them in a celebratory wake to be held in his memory on Thursday, July 11, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Independent Insurance Agents of NM Building, 1511 University Blvd. NE in Albuquerque. Wasinger -- Raymond J."The Music Man", 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Florence"Mickey" Wasinger of Albuquerque; son, R.J. Wasinger II, and wife, Janice; grandson, Ray J. Wasinger and wife, Carolyn; granddaughter, Bernadette Wasinger and her three children, all of Buffalo, NY; brother, William Wasinger; sister-in-law, Joan Wasinger; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Wasinger and Clara Humig Wasinger; brother, George Wasinger Jr.; sister, Arlene Williams; and sister-in-law, Betty Wasinger. Mr. Wasinger was born July 13, 1922 in Buffalo, NY. Mr. Wasinger fought in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific Theater. Mr. Wasinger was well known for his thirty years of entertaining Veterans at the VA Hospital here in Albuquerque. He was a professional photographer in Buffalo, NY until 1966, when he went blind. At that time he learned to play the organ. He and his wife moved to Albuquerque in 1969 because of health problems. Mr. Wasinger was a life member of DAV Chapter 32. Weil -- Monica S. Weil, 72, grandmother, mother, and a talented seamstress and dear friend died peacefully on Saturday evening, June 29, 2002 at the Cottages of Albuquerque. She had been diagnosed in 1996 with atypical Alzheimer's Disease. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Otmar Ritter; and then later by her second husband, Edwin H. Weil, Jr. She is survived by her son, Bert Weil; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jeff Stuyvesant; her grandchildren, Jeremiah Weil, Brandy Leyba, and Rachel, Joshua, Lucas and Zachary Stuyvesant; and her great-grandchildren, Michael and Julian Leyba. Willmas -- Nancy Willmas, 56, a 20-year resident of the Albuquerque area, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Jack Willmas of Moriarty; daughter, Susan Engeldinger and husband, Dave of Sheboygan Falls, WI; granddaughters, Emily and Abigail Engeldinger of Sheboygan Falls, WI; mother, Dorothy Theobald of Sheboygan, WI; twin sister, Mary Stori and husband, David of Brodhead, WI; brothers, Charles Theobald and wife, Janice of Sheboygan, WI, and Richard Theobald and wife, Barbara of Eugene, OR. She was preceded in death by her father, Byron Theobald in 1965. Mrs. Willmas was forming the Teapot Ministries as a women's evangelistic outreach program. She was also active in the Christian Motorcyclists Association. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Saturday, July 6, 2002, 2:00 p.m., at Calvary Chapel East Mountain, 339 State Road 344, with Pastor Terry Milford and Pastor Frank Tenorio officiating. Wohrer -- Walter Carl Wohrer, beloved husband, father, son and friend, died suddenly on June 19, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Amy McGrane; daughters, Fiona and Iris Wohrer; parents, Louis and Luise Wohrer; sister, Dietlinde Zipkin; and many loving relatives and friends. Walter loved his family and his work. He was an expert mold maker. He was born in Austria in 1957 and became a U.S. citizen in May, 2002. Walter attended St. John's College and graduated from UNM. He had been a resident of New Mexico since 1979. His sense of humor, kindness and unique sense of style will be missed by all. Memorial contributions on behalf of the family can be made to the Walter Wohrer Memorial Fund at First State Bank or mailed to 373 North Camino del Pueblo, Bernalillo, N.M. 87004.
