Altice -- David Alan Altice was born September 14, 1955. He finished his work on this earth March 7, 2002 to go be with his beloved mother, father, and brother, Don. He is survived by his sons, Sean David and Taylor Alan of South Pasadena, CA where they reside with their loving mother, Kara J. Altice Montes. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Lee Elslender; and a brother, Ron Altice. David is also survived by his soul mate and devoted Zohna L. Todd. A celebration of his life, love and music will be held March 11, 2002 at Albuquerque Manor in the Atrium 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. It would be David's wish for donations to be sent to/in memory of Brother Dave, Transitional Living Communities at PO Box 1396 Albuquerque, NM 87103. Aragon -- Daniel Aragon, 59, passed away May 6, 2002. A native New Mexican, he served in the US. Marine Corps and worked as a truck driver. Daniel lived in Chama and Albuquerque. He is survived by his daughter, Anna Marie Washington and husband, Raniel; three grandchildren, Dondre Aragon, Treydon Aragon, and Malcolm Aragon; sister, Tillie Mares and husband, Richard; brother, Antonio Aragon and wife, Bea; nieces, nephews, other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Aragon -- Jerry (Nino) Aragon. Born on July 6, 1957 went into the arms of the Lord on May 8, 2002. Jerry is survived by parents, Joe and Ida; brothers and sisters, Dorothy, Bertha, Tonella and Leroy Brazfield, Johnny and Lorraine, Ruby and John Esquibel, Edward, Larry and Jennie, Joey and Roberta, Lucille and Joey Romero and Beatrice; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Bachechi -- Mary O. Bachechi, 87, a resident of Albuquerque for 70 years, died Monday, May 6, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Patrick Bachechi and wife, Donna, and Victor J. Bachechi and wife, Sue, both of Albuquerque; daughter, Mary Claire Bachechi of Corrales, NM; daughter-in-law, Susan M. Bachechi of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Brenda, Ann, Carla, Kimberly, Molly, Marie, and Charlie Bachechi; step grandchildren, Liz Mustoe and Karrie Henry; great grandchildren, Ashlyn and Jordan Bachechi-Clark; step-great grandchildren, Jennifer Mustoe, Thomas Rials and Amber Rials; brother, John D. Guest and wife, Sophie, of Wickenburg, AZ; sisters, Teresa Sei and husband, Amerigo, Rita Curran and husband, John, both of Albuquerque, Regina Moran and husband, Thomas, of Denver, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlo Bachechi in 1980; son, Charles G. Bachechi in 1981 and brother, Patrick F. Guest in 1941. Mrs. Bachechi was born in Cole, OK. She trained and worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital. Mrs. Bachechi was the first flight attendant hired by TWA from west of the Mississippi. She married Carlo Bachechi in 1937 and after starting a family, she became a homemaker and caregiver to many. She raised her family on a ranch located on North Rio Grande Blvd. Mrs. Bachechi's final days were spent at Montebello Retirement Community. Rosary will be recited Thursday, May 9, 2002, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with The Marianites reciting. Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 10, 2002, 8:30 a.m., at Our Lady of The Annunciation Catholic Church, Claremont and Vermont St. NE, with Father Ronald L. Bruckner, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Austin, Daniel Curran, Richard Hoehne, Christopher Guest, Michael guest, and Ed Sullivan. Barela Ortega -- Barela Amalia Barela Ortega died on Monday May 6, 2002 in Albuquerque at the age of 89 she is survived by her son, Anthony Ortega; and her daughters, Mary C. Bowen -- David Baird Bowen was born on November 25, 1943. David left this world peacefully on April 29, 2001 at his Galveston, TX home. He is survived by is adoring wife, Virginia of Galveston, TX; his father, William Bowen and wife, Ruth; his mother, Juanita Bowen, all of Albuquerque; son, Devin of California; brother, Dennis Bowen and wife, Gayle of Katy, TX; brother, Dale Bowen and wife, Libby of Albuquerque; nieces and nephews, Stepphanie and Blake of Katy, TX, Christy and Adam of Albuquerque. David touched and healed many people in his life. He worked as a guidance counselor for the past 15 years, assisting others to regain their lives. One never dies unless he is forgotten but David will never be forgotten as he will always live in our hearts. Cremation has taken place.

Crespin -- Pedro Crespin went to the arms of his heavenly Father on May 8, 2002. He was born on May 19,1903 in El Sapello, New Mexico to Miguel Crespin and Canutita Pacheco. He farmed in Trujillo, New Mexico and in Alameda most of his life. He retired from the New Mexico State Highway Department as a foreman in 1968 after 30 years of service. Pedro was a very loving father; father-in-law; and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Amadita; sons, Herman, Aniceto, and Mike Crespin; and several grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Beatrice Garcia; brother-in-law, Roman Duran and wife, Ruby, sister-in- law, Ignacia Lujan; a very special daughter, Emerlinda Crespin, who devoted her entire life to taking care of him; daughters, Tina Martinez and husband, Andres, Rita Jaramillo and husband, Leon; daughter-in-law, Josephine LeFebre; sons, Tony and wife, Francis, Joe and wife, Jennie, Julio and wife, Connie Juan Carrito and wife, Sunshine. He is also survived by 46 grandchildren; and over 100 great and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Crespin will be held on Saturday at Nativity Of The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery. The Pallbeares will be his grandsons; Emilio Crespin, Martin Crespin, Frank Martinez, Tino Crespin, Pedro Crespin, Leon Jaramillo Jr, Eddie Crespin and Vicente Crespin. Crouch -- Marjorie W. Crouch, age 93, passed away quietly in her sleep at Manzano Del Sol Good Samaritan Village on Wednesday, May 8, 2002. Marjorie was born on October 17, 1908 in Honey Grove, Texas to Florence Linder Zinser and William Garrett Waltermire. Marjorie had two brothers, Everett and Franklin. The family moved to Peoria, IL in 1921 where she later met her husband of 42 years, Elbert Joseph Crouch. They lived most of their married life in Chillicothe, IL with their three children, Bruce Alan, Mark Eugene, and Linda Ruth. Later in life, Marjorie lived near her children in Loveland, CO, Memphis, TN and Albuquerque, NM. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Ruth Crouch Young of Albuquerque, NM; five grandchildren, Amy J. Young, Eureka, IL, Sara E.Young Milliken, Charleston, SC, Debra M.Young Byrd, Auburn, AL, Matthew P. Crouch, Denver, CO, Elizabeth L.Crouch, Seattle, WA; and other family and friends who will miss her. Her husband; two sons; and two brothers preceded her in death. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2002, 4:00 p.m., at New Life Presbyterian Church, 5540 Eubank Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM. Bill loved to ride his bike, fish, camp and spend time with his friends and family. Gurule -- Joe G. Gurule, 74, a lifelong resident of Peralta, NM, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2002. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta. Joe served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture. After graduation, he returned to New Mexico and worked all over the state. Later he was transferred to Colombia, where he worked for several years. Joe worked in El Salvador, Dominican Republic, and many other assignments in Latin America. He retired in 1994, from the Farmers Home Administration, with 42 years of outstanding service. He retired to full time farming, which was always Joe's passion. Preceding him in death was his father, Juan B. in 1967; his mother, Teresa Gurule Zamora in 2001; and his son, Dominic in 1957. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Bertha of the family home in Peralta; his five children, Greg and his wife, Nadine of San Jose, CA; Camille Gurule of Socorro, NM; Michelle T. Gurule; Lorena Herrera and her husband, Robert of Peralta; and Jose G. Baires and his wife, Cecelia of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Stephanie Smith and her husband, Chris of Albuquerque; Sean Gurule of Gulfport, MS; Marcos and Daniel Herrera, both of Peralta; one great-grandson, Gage Michael; and three sisters, Eligia Torres; Luge Aragon and her husband, Joe; and Vangie Molina and her husband, Herminio. Joe is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, and cousins. Kemper -- Clarence"Bud" McDaniel Kemper, age 85, passed away Monday, May 6, 2002. A resident of Albuquerque for over 50 years. Dr. Kemper and his family came to Albuquerque in 1949 where he joined the Lovelace Clinic as a Rheumatologist. He practiced at Lovelace until his retirement in the early 1970's. Following retirement, he and his wife, Jean, lived aboard a sailboat for eight years, sailing in the Sea of Cortez off Baja California. His beloved Jean preceded him in death in 2000. Survivors include his two daughters, Mary Kay Rovelstad and her husband, Gary of Montevallo, Alabama and Peggy Gutmann and her husband, James of Middletown, Connecticut; four grandchildren, Lorien Rovelstad-Abbey and husband, Mike of Tallahassee, FL, Tanya Rovelstad of Lexington, KY, Christopher Gutmann of Tempe, AZ, and Ethan Gutmann of Boulder, CO; as well as two great-grandchildren, Colin and Aidan Abbey of Tallahassee. Lortz -- Rocci E. Lortz, 45, a resident of Bosque Farms, died on Sunday, May 5, 2002 as a result of his motorcycle colliding with a car on Hwy 47 in Tome. He was a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, and of the Valencia Valley Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his wife, Helen; her son, Robert Jones and wife, Carmen and their three children, Anitra, Robert and Thomas all of Albuquerque; his daughter, Shawnna Valenzuela and husband, Richard and their three children, Aleman, Ivar, and Anastacia all of Sierra Vista, Arizona; his daughter, Rocci Benevidez of Peralta, New Mexico; his mother and step-father, Jim and Ida Lou Capo of Albuquerque; his brother, Ricci Lortz and his two children, Robert and Ricci all of Hemet, California. A motorcade of motorcycles will leave Riverside Funeral Home in Belen at 5:30 p.m. on Friday evening, May 10, 2002 to proceed to the Valencia Valley Church of the Nazarene located at 33 El Cerro Rd. in Los Lunas where visitation will be held between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. with Services to begin at 7:30 p.m. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Terrace Grove Cemetery 1200 W. Najera -- Carmen Najera was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on May 8, 2002. Carmen was born on June 5, 1936 in Tome, NM to Doroteo and Senaida Romero. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Jesus Najera; her loving sons, Robert Martinez and wife, Carol and Gabriel Najera and wife, Karla; grandchildren, Bobby Martinez and Melissa Martinez. Also two sisters, Grace Ulibarri and husband, Jose, and Josefa Marquez and husband, Victor; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. Nuanez -- Mr. Ernest Nuanez (Ernie), 68, born December 17, 1933 in Albuquerque (Martinez Town) lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Raquel Nuanez. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Eva Nuanez; daughters, Elaine Armijo and husband, Manuel, Sandra Abeyta, Liz Mulligan and husband, Patrick; sons, Stevie Nuanez, Anthony Nuanez and wife, Shelly; seven grandchildren, Dominic, Angelo, and Monica Abeyta, Jesse Armijo, Shane Mulligan, and Samuel and Noah Nuanez; brothers, Frank Nuanez and wife, Annie of Oceanside, CA, Johnny Nuanes and wife, Dorella, Lorenzo Nuanez and wife, Elvia; sisters, Sally Lovato and husband, Leonardo, and Stella Tapia and husband, Tony; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and many special friends. Ernie was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the US Navy. He was an avid golfer, loved spending time with his family and friends and getting up early!! Sanchez -- Mr. Jose I. Sanchez, 73, born in Escabosa, N.M. and a resident of Albuquerque passed away on May 7, 2002. Mr. Sanchez is the beloved husband of 52 years to Mrs. Henrietta Sanchez. He is also survived by one daughter, Roxann Benavidez and husband, Walter; three sons, Randy Sanchez and wife, Nancy of Wisconsin, Ronnie Sanchez, Rueben Sanchez and wife, Sandy of Colorado; a brother, Luciano Sanchez and wife, Jennie; a sister, Yolanda Erickson and husband, John; six grandchildren, Jamie, Roxanne, Nathan, Daniel, Chelsea and Sabrina; two great-grandchildren, Paxton and Elias; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Sanchez is preceded in death by a son, Ralph Sanchez, 1971. Mr. Sanchez was a member of the Catholic Church, one of the founders of the Zapata Club, an heir to the Atrisco Land Grant and he loved his ranch in Chilili. A visitation for Mr. Sanchez will be Friday evening after 6:30 p.m. at San Martin Catholic Church, 8301 Camino San Martin SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. A final visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at San Martin Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father James Vance. Pallbearers will be, Randy Sanchez, Ronnie Sanchez, Rueben Sanchez, Jamie Sanchez, Walter Benavidez and Eddie Lucero. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Sanchez and Nathan Benavidez. Shinnick -- Isabelle F. Shinnick, age 75, of LaSalle, Colorado died May 5, 2002 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado. She was born February 3, 1927 in Princeton, Illinois to Timothy O. and Janice (Bailey) Ferrell. Her stepfather was Roscoe Johnson. She was raised in Princeton. In 1956, she moved to Albuquerque, NM where she raised her family. In Albuquerque, she was very involved with her church and volunteering as well working as a legal secretary and then working with an optometrist. In 1990, she moved to LaSalle, Colorado to be near her daughter. She volunteered at North Colorado Medical Center. She enjoyed her bridge group, gardening and her animals. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Hemker of Platteville, CO; sons, Ferrell Shinnick of Austin, TX, Mathis Shinnick of Darien, CT; sister, Julie Lobo of Cleveland Heights, OH; grandchildren, Tristan, Jesse, Spencer and Rory. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2:00 p.m. at her home, 411 N 3rd Street in LaSalle. The family requests no flowers, however, memorial gifts may be made to the Northern Colorado Animal League, 1620 42nd Street, Evans, CO 80620 in the name of Isabelle Shinnick.

Trujillo -- Leo Trujillo, a resident of Los Chavez, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2002. Leo retired from the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School in 1997 with over 33 years of dedicated service. His sense of humor was enjoyed by all the staff and patients. He also served in the US Army. Preceding him in death was his mother, Adelaida; his father, Anastacio Trujillo; and his sister, Ursula Aragon. He is survived by his beloved son, Leo; his"special daughter," Crystal Lucero; and his special friend, MaryAnn Thompson; two brothers, Cheo and his wife, Vicki; and Bobby Trujillo; three sisters, Mela Anzures; Bennie Bernal, all of Los Lunas; Grace Nunez and her husband, Blue of El Paso, Texas; his uncles, Moises and Charles Griego; and his aunt, Matilda Gomez, all of Los Lunas. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Charlie Trujillo; Debbie Sisneros; Jennifer Sanders; Ricky and Michael Anzures; Marlene and Roger Bernal; Paul and Adeline Aragon; and many great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and friends. A viewing will be held on Friday, May 10, 2002 at 5:30 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home with a funeral service following at 6:00pm. Trujillo -- Mr. Pete Trujillo, 88, born November 14, 1913 in Willard, New Mexico passed away on May 8, 2002 peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family. Mr. Trujillo was the son of the late Luis and Mercedes Trujillo. Mr. Trujillo is survived by his five children, Betty Mc Neill and husband, Don, Louis Trujillo and wife, Bea, Bill Trujillo and wife, Sharon, Theresa Saiz and husband, Louis, Mercy Baca and husband, Trinidad; two sisters, Florinda Galaz and Mary Gutierrez; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Trujillo is preceded in death by his wife, Jennie. They were married On April 23, 1934 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Isleta, N.M.; by two grandchildren, Joseph and Cathy; four sisters, Lena, Lucinda, Beatrice and Regina; and by one brother, Louie Trujillo. Mr. Trujillo was a member of the Catholic Church, was employed by Babe's Grocery Store, Arturo's Texaco Service Station, Schwartzman's Packing Co., Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District, Santa Fe Railroad, Orange Crush Bottling Co. Mr. Trujillo retired from 7up Bottling Co. after 35 years of service. He was a Bailiff in District Court under District Judge Joseph Baca and Harry Blackmer. Mr. Trujillo was very active in his community of Los Padillas; Precinct Chairman and Committeeman of Precinct 6, President of Los Padillas United Community Improvement Association; Member of Los Padillas Elementary School Advisory Committee; he was very active in the Ascension Parish Catholic Community, President of the Holy Name Society and Parish Counsil, Pastoral Council Member and a Lay Minister; he was active in the Knights of Columbus, Member of Coucil 641, Held several chair offices including Grand Knight, was a member of several Ceremonial Teams; Member of Father A.M. Mandelari 4th Degree Assembly, was a former Master of the 4th Degree and held several State and District Chair Offices; Pete only had five years of formal education, because he had to seek employment at the age of 12, in order to help his mother support their family. He was a"self" educated man and obviously very successful! Comment from Bill Trujillo,"I always thought that one of Dad's greatest traits was how humble a man he was. I don't think he ever sought praise, just respect. He never talked about his accomplishments, just praised others." A viewing for Mr. Trujillo will be Friday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Bea Trujillo. A final viewing will be Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Ascension with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father Anthony Bolman and Monsignor Fred Stadtmueller. Interment will follow at the Los Padillas Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Trini Moya PFN/FS, George Martinez PSD/FN, Ray Wright GK/DD, Jose M. Valdez Jr. FM, Willie Miera PDD/FM and Mel Jaramillo PSD/M. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Tomas Yanes and all Pete's grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Presbyterian Hospice. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW in charge of the arrangements.

Witherspoon -- Frank G. ťBuddyť Witherspoon, 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2002. He is survived by his daughter, JoAnn Hennington and husband, Robert of Scottsdale, AZ; son, Neil Witherspoon of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Suanne Johnson and husband, Eric of Noblesville, IN; great-grandson, Patrick Hurley and wife, Jill; and great-great-granddaughter, Allison Hurley, all of Phoenix, AZ. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Myra Witherspoon. He was born and raised in Hereford, Texas, attended Hereford High School and then went on to Texas A & M University. He then returned to Hereford and was a partner in the family business until 1958. He then moved to Albuquerque. Frank retired after 25 years at Kirtland Air Force Base and was a member of the University Church of Christ. Graveside services will be held Saturday, 3:00 p.m., at West Park Cemetery, in Hereford, Texas.
