Archuleta -- Robert A. Archuleta, of Albuquerque, NM born June 4, 1942 passed away suddenly April 8, 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents Flore and Frances Archuleta and a brother Rudy Archuleta. He is survived by two brothers, Richard Archuleta and his wife Diana, and Oliver Archuleta; three sisters Veronica Marquez and her husband Fred, Lilly Pineda and her husband Eloy, and Cathy Jaramillo; and numerous loving and caring nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held for Bobby at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 545 Fortuna Road, NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105 on Monday, April 16, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. Interment is pending and will be held at the family gravesite. Armijo -- Sofia Armijo, 81, a resident of Belen, joined our Lord on Thursday, April 12, 2001. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, and for many years a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. For over 40 years, she worked the voting polls during elections at Central School Elementary. Sofia was an avid bowler and proudly competed in many National and State tournaments bringing home her prized trophies for over 36 years. She continued to bowl enthusiastically until October of 2000. She also loved playing bingo but her first passion was her family. She loved her family and passed on her cooking skills for two generations. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pasqual Sr., her year-old son, Pasqual, her father, Juan Espinosa, four brothers, Freddie Disiderio Espinosa, Tedoro and Joe Olguin, and one sister, Cecilia Espinosa. Sofia is survived by her children, Jake and wife, Emelda of Albuquerque; Carmen and husband, Floyd Montoya of Tome; Pasqual and wife, Lydia; Ernest and wife, Kathy; and Alfredo and wife, Flora, all of Belen; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Petra Morris of Arizona; one brother-in-law, Joe K.Armijo and wife, Ruth of Arizona; three sisters-in-law, Ramona Mascarena and husband, Eloy of Albuquerque; Ernestina Cordova and husband, Ben of Clovis; and Elaria Martinez of Arizona; and her two aunts, Emma Marquez; and Carmen Baca and husband, Doroteo, both of Adelino. Sofia is also survived by a very dear friend, Margaret Salazar. Friends and family may call on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen with Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Baca -- Frank Baca, 91, a resident of La Costancia, NM, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Albuquerque while surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 10, 2001. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed playing poker at the Belen Senior Citizens. In the 1940's, Frank received his Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of New Mexico. He taught school for over 42 years in the Valencia County Schools System and for many years was principal at the East Side School on River Road in Belen. Frank wore many different hats in his younger days as he was also a devoted rancher and farmer and served as Secretary Treasurer of the Tome Land Grant Corporation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doroteo and Ramonsita Baca; and his six brothers, Juan, Manuel, Luis, Crestino, Jose Maria, and Antonio Baca. Frank is survived by his five children, Mary Sanchez of Albuquerque, Angela Capshaw of Laguna Hills, CA, Albert and wife, Darlene of La Mirada, CA, Frank and wife, Josephine of Fallbrook, CA; and Louis and wife, Debbie of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Odelio Baca of Adelino; and two sisters, Tillie Baca and Chona Torres, both of Tome, NM. He is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. A Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. this Sunday, April 15, 2001 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2001 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with Father Tom Greaney officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Baca -- Mario Victor Baca born on September 22, 1999, died on April 9, 2001. He is survived by his mother, Kimberly Baca; his father, Victor Baca; his sister, Victoria Baca; his maternal grandparents, Gloria Carrillo, Ben Megah and his wife, Laura; his paternal grandparents, Deborah and Victor Baca; and numerous great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends many of whom were there when he went into Jesus' arms. Beach -- Mrs. Carolina C. Beach, 98, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on April 12, 2001 at home with her loved ones at her side. Mrs. Beach is survived by two daughters, Beatrice Carrillo and husband Ben and Dorothy Lobato and husband Art; two sons, Arthur Beach and wife Odelia and Joseph Beach and wife Gloria; one brother, Rudy Chavez and wife Blanche; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Beach was preceded in death by her husband George W. Beach (Former U.S. Marshall and Bernalillo County Assessor); her son, Father Robert Beach and her two grandchildren, Mary Ann Carrillo and John Carrillo. Mrs. Beach was a member of the Catholic Church, National Order of Foresters, Sacred Heart League and the Women's Guild of Our Lady of Fatima. Visitation will be Monday evening in the Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd., NE from 6:30 until 7:00 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 by Deacon Hugh Hackett. Final Visitation will be Tuesday morning in the Our Lady of Fatima Church from 9:30 until 10:00 with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 by Father Francis Eggert. Boudreau -- Ted Boudreau, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Irene Boudreau of the family home; son, John Boudreau of Albuquerque; brother, Vincent Boudreau and wife, Diane of Las Cruces; sister, Lorena Ledford and husband, Ed of Carlsbad; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ted served in the US Navy on the submarine USS Barbero during World War II. He retired from Southern Union Gas Co. after 20 years of service. He received many sales awards while working there. He was a 50 year member of the Albuquerque Trap Club, a life member of the American Trap Shooting Association, and a member of the Hall of Fame with the ATC, and was a member of the Holy Ghost Parish. Rosary will be recited Monday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Deacon Ubaldo Chavez reciting. Brown -- Loretta Brown, 91, an Albuquerque resident since 1985, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2001. She was a member of the Church of the Risen Savior and the Lambda Phi Gamma Sorority. Loretta is survived by her son, John R. Frias -- Lucy A. Frias, age 63, passed away Wednesday morning, April 11, 2001 in a local hospital. She was born February 21, 1938 in Phoenix to the late Gustazo and Manula (Lopez) Angulo. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Andy A. Frias of Albuquerque; one son, Donald A. Frias and his wife, Shirlee of Rio Rancho, NM; two daughters, Debbie Meyer and her husband, Todd, Edgewood, NM, Lori Griffin and her husband, Michael of Albuquerque; two sisters, Susan Angulo of Phoenix, Pat Angulo of Phoenix; one brother-in-law, Pete Cordova of Phoenix; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Meyer, Andrew Meyer, Lisa Frias, Zacharie Frias, Michael Griffin, Alexis Frias, and Edward Griffin. She was preceded in death by one son, Andrew Frias. She was a member of the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church. She was an owner and director of A Childs Play Ground here in Albuquerque for over ten years. She was a mother to many children in her day care center. Visitation will be Monday, April 16, 2001 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Home. Gammon -- Tony Margaret Gammon, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, passed away April 12, 2001. Tony was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff (JT) Gammon, and brother, Joe Barnes. She is survived by her sons; Joe Gammon and wife, Linda, and Tom Gammon; brother, Bob Barnes; sisters, Polly Deutsch and husband, Dave, and Pat Tracy and husband, Warren; sister-in-law, Irene Barnes; nieces and nephews, Ann Silverio, Carol Barnes, John Christy, David Barnes, and Clayton Tracy. Tony was born in 1924 in Red Oak, Oklahoma. After college in Oklahoma, Tony moved to California during WWII where she worked as a ship welder in the war effort. She married Jeff Gammon on January 29,1946, and after living in Texas and California, they settled in New Mexico. Garcia -- Thomas Fred Garcia, born in Clayton, NM on November 18, 1935 to Rafael and Eva (Elkins) Garcia, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2001. Garrett -- Luellen Garrett of Nevada City, California died at her home Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at the age of 73. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services. Burial is at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetary in Nevada City. Mrs. Garrett was born in Albuquerque, N.M., to Clarence M. and Maude B. Saunders on March 5, 1927. She married Kenneth S. Garrett on Feb. 2, 1946 in Albuquerque Mrs. Garrett was a switchboard operator, a hotel receptionist, and homemaker. She enjoyed studying astrology and cats. she had numerous relatives She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Garrett of Grass Valley; sons, Stanley Garrett of Kaneohe, Hawaii, and Donald Garrett of Truckee, California; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth S. Garrett, in January of 1998, brothers, Alton Saunders, Roy Saunders, sisters, Norma Trammell, Hazel Young, and Christine Chafin. George -- Robert P. George, 87, of Boise died Thursday, April 5, 2001 at St. Lukeťs Hospital. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m. at Hillview United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 6, 2001. Burial to followed in Cloverdale Memorial Park. Services were under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho. Robert was born September 7, 1913 in Whitesburg, Kentucky. Robert received his M.D. Degree at Northwestern University. Following his internship Dr. Bob served in the Untied States Army Medical Corp from 1941 to 1946 during World War II in the European Theater. After the war he completed specialty training in obstetrics and gynecology. He practiced OBGYN briefly in Akron, Ohio; approximately 30 years in Albuquerque, New Mexico then moved his practice to Gillette, Wyoming for a brief period. He then moved to Boise, Idaho and in semi-retirement he rendered services to the Salvation Army on a regular basis. The loss of eyesight prevented the continuation of his practice. Dr. Bob's practice of medicine spanned more than half a century entailing the delivery of many thousand of babies. Dr. Bob and his wife, Nell were active in the Hillview United Methodist Church which formed the focus of their lives. Dr. Bob is survived by his wife, Nell; a son, Robert Preston George, Jr., M.D. of Corrales, New Mexico; a daughter, Patricia George Johnson of Albuquerque, New Mexico and a brother, Charles H. George of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; his grandchildren are Kris W. Johnson and Kathleen K. Johnson of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Hicks -- Eugene Hicks Sergeant Major United States Army Retired, a life long resident of Albuquerque died on Friday April 13, 2001 following an illness. Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife Kay F. Hicks of Albuquerque; and two sons Dwain Hicks of Los Angeles, CA and David E. Hicks of Albuquerque. Mr. Hicks was a member of Grant Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church where he was their audio, visual technician. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1978 after 31 years of service having served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. Mr. Hicks was also a member of the 82nd Airborne, 101st 555, A.U.S.A., A.R.R.L., and the Quarter Century Amateur Radio Club. A Visitation will be held on Monday, April 16, 2001 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Strong Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Avenue SE. Jones -- Bettie Kellis Jones, passed away at her home Tuesday, April 10, 2001. She was born December 7, 1923 to Harvey Carrell and Annie Irene Kellis in Donner, LA. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her exuberance was characterized by her love of golf and its many associations. Because of these activities, she had a very wide circle of friends and acquaintances. She added much to all of our lives and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mleczek -- Sister Mary Febronia Mleczek, 90, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Albuquerque. Sister Febronia served the Lord and His people as a Felician-Franciscan Sister for 71 years. Of these, she spent 54 years teaching elementary school students in Illinois, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Wisconsin, California, and Texas. After retiring from full-time teaching, she continued working in religious education programs. She possessed a wry sense of humor that helped her face difficulties with great determination and patience and brought delight to those around her. Sister Febronia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Grabowska Mleczek; two sisters, Mary Mleczek and Sister Mary Emily Mleczek (also a Felician Sister); and two brothers, Joseph and Anthony Mleczek. She is survived by two nieces, Germaine Mleczek of Ogema, WI, and Anna Noskowiak of Antigo, WI; and a cousin, Sister Mary Flora Leszczynski, FSPA, of La Crosse, WI. Nord -- Sister Marie Nord, 55, a member of the Leadership Team of the Congregation of Our Lady of Lourdes of Rochester, MN, died in a car accident on April 9, 2001 in Roswell, NM. born Ann Marie Nord on July 2, 1945 in Wynnum, Australia, Sister Marie entered the Franciscan Congregation in 1963 from St. John Parish, Roswell, NM. Sister Marie's ministry in the congregation began as a teacher of science in several schools. It was through that ministry that the seeds of a life-long passion to call others to live peaceably were planted. Through her role as social Justice Coordinator for the congregation she lived out this passion as a peace activist, para-legal assistant, living and ministering in various peace communities in Colorado Springs, CO and Albuquerque, NM training and volunteering at Genesis Farm and directing ERDA Garden and Learning Center where she was ministering at the time of her death. Sister Marie was active in leadership in her religious congregation. Serving on various committees, and at the time of her death, serving as an elected member of the Congregational leadership Team. Sister Marie was faithful to the prophets that came before her, she lived the passage from the prophet Micah."This is what God asks of you---that you do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God." Rayson -- Edward John Rayson, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Palm Sunday, April 8, 2001 at the age of 73. He was born April 7, 1928 in Hazleton, PA to John Edward and Mary Waldron Rayson. He graduated from Hazleton High School in 1946 and then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan. He then graduated from Williamsport Technical Institute in Williamsport, PA. He worked for Western Electric and Bell Labs of AT&T as a graphic artist, technical illustrator and supervisor for 30 years in Winston-Salem, NC, El Paso, TX, Colorado Springs, CO, New York City and Teheran, Iran until he retired. He was a member of the Pioneer Fire Company and Christ Lutheran Church in Hazleton, PA. A member of the Augsburg Lutheran Church in Winston-Salem, NC and was currently an active member of the choir at Faith Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife, Lois Payne Rayson; two sons, John Thomas Rayson and Lincoln Robert Rayson; and a granddaughter, Alexis Nicole Rayson all of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Harrison Richard Rayson of Chalmette, LA; and a cousin, Rev. Thomas N. Thomas of Santa Fe, NM. Torrez -- Nellie Torrez, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend was called home to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 11, 2001. Mrs. Torrez was long time resident of Albuquerque formerly of Grants, NM. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, a member of Nueva Vida Prayer Group, Cursillo Movement, Carmelitas, Guadalupanos, and a Eucharististic Lay Minster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Torrez, Sr, parents, Jimmy and Concha Olveda, father and mother-in-law, Bonifacio and Kathryn Torrez, son, Luther Torrez, brother, Raymond Olveda, son-in-law, Timmy Rubio, and daughter-in- law, Maria Torrez.. She is survived by her loving children, Betty Rubio, Margaret Moya and husband, Harold, Nancy Saiz and husband, Frank, Felix Torrez, Jr. and wife, Odelia, Charles Torrez; 22 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Socorro Gonzales, Theresa Chavez, Mary Romo, and Rachel Benavidez; one brother, Tony Olveda; numerous other relatives; and many special and close friends. She will be deeply missed by all. A Communion Service will be conducted Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Trinosky -- Katherine"Kitz" E. Trinosky, 80 yrs old, a resident of Albuquerque since 1961 died in her home Thursday April 12, 2001. She was born on July 24, 1920 in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. She graduated from nursing school in 1941 and was a Registered Nurse. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 yrs., Frank G. Trinosky, M.D. in 1994. Survivors include her daughters, Anne K. Nichols, of Boston, MA, Patricia K. Lind and husband Howard of Colorado Springs, CO, Susan T. Ingles and husband William of Fremont, CA, Beth T. Gossett and husband Rick of Albuquerque, grandchildren Meghan & Emily Gossett of Albuquerque, brother George Miller and wife Edie of Louisville, KY. Funeral services pending. Turrietta -- Canuto L. Turrietta, 93, a resident of Manzano, NM died peacefully in April 13, 2001. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church having previously served as Mayordomo and Padrino del Santo Nino. He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresita, in January, 2001; son, Eloy, in September, 2000; and son, Deciderio, in 1957. Canuto is survived by four daughters, Marie Bernal, Julia Chavez, Margaret Hart and husband Dave, Helen Turrietta-Oates and husband Edward; two sons, Vincent Turrietta and wife Pauline, and Fernando Turrietta; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Turrietta; brother, Manual Turrietta; 18 grandchildren; 13 Great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Rosary will be recited by Deacon Filomeno Lovato on Monday, April 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Manzano, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Edward Domme on Tuesday, April 17 at 11:00 a.m. in Manzano. Ullrich -- Mary Sowa Ullrich passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2001 at Valle Norte Caring Center in Albuquerque, she was 91 years old. Mary was born in Stoneham, PA. She was a Ludlow, PA resident until 1936 moving to Warren, PA until 1986 at which time she moved to Albuquerque, NM. She was a former member of St. Joseph R.C. Church. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Teckla Czyz Sowa, and husband, Joseph Edward Ullrich who died January 29, 1985 whom she married August 8, 1936 in Clarendon, PA., five brothers, John, Stanley, Bernal, Stanislaus, Walter Sowa, three sisters, Anna Kloss, Louise Speroni, Sue Strand. She is survived by two daughters, Joan E. Hegerty and Helen Sowa Ullrich both of Albuquerque, NM; one grandson, Michael Hegerty; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted at St. Joseph R.C. Church with Rev. Fr. Walter Packard, Pastor, Officiating. Interment took place at St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
