Aragon -- Felicito Aragon, a resident of Bernalillo, passed away on May 24, 2000. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Fernando Aragon; two brothers, Fermin Aragon and Premitivo Aragon; a sister, Andrea Archibeque; a daughter, Mary Aragon; and grandson, Josiah Agapito Robertson III Aragon. He is survived by his loving wife, Sadie Aragon of Bernalillo; Fred and Gloria Aragon of Los Angeles CA, Max Aragon and Lucia Trujillo of Albuquerque, Olie Aragon of Los Angeles, CA, and John and Mary Aragon of Bernalillo. Also surviving are brothers, Avaristo Aragon and Pat Aragon; and a sister, Tomasita Garcia; and numerous friends and family members who will miss him. Felicito was a member of Our Lady Of Sorrows Catholic Church; he was a World War II veteran, and a member of the VFW. He enjoyed watching sports and loved his family very much. A Rosary will be recited Sunday evening, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady Of Sorrows Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 10:00a.m. also at the Church. Interment will follow at the Placitas Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Orlando Aragon, Max Aragon Jr., Eddie Roybal, Mario Griego, Bobby Aragon, and Steve Aragon. Honorary Pallbearers are grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Max Aragon Jr., Monica Aragon, Max Ventura, Michelle Aragon, Phillip Aragon, Yvonne Aragon, Jessica Aragon, Samantha Aragon, Mia Aragon, and Karina Aragon. Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th Street, Gary Santillanes CFSP.

Chance -- Mildred Chance, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1954, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Lavern W. Chance; and two grandsons. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Thomas of Oklahoma City, OK; brothers, Doyce Waldrip of Portland, OR, David Waldrip of Beaverton, OR; children, Anthony Wright of Seattle, WA, Greg Chance of Colton, CA, Linda La Grange of Ramona, CA, Belva Eversgerd of Chama, Virginia Eversgerd of Albuquerque, and Mary Davis of Riverside, CA; four step-children, Robert Chance of Charleston, WA, Richard Chance of Los Lunas, Glenda Vernon of Henderson, NV, and Sherry Wiltsie of Bosque Farms; 22 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. Mildred was an excellent seamstress. Her creations graced many special occasions and the memories will always be treasured. Mimi was always generous and giving to everyone. Mother will always be in our hearts. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Services will be held Saturday, 3:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, with Pastor Gerald White officiating. Emory -- Mr. Vance H. Emory, 81, passed away May 20, 2000 in Roswell, GA. Mr. Emory was born in Georgetown, IL; served in the Army during WWII and taught Industrial Arts in Eureka, IL. He moved to New Mexico in 1958, where he worked for the Albuquerque Public Schools, retiring in 1983. He was married to Betty Paradiso for 29 years and Elua Clark for 30 years. Both are deceased. He is survived by his son, Roy Emory, Roswell; daughter, Glynda Stupp; and three grandchildren.

Gutierrez -- Paul C. Gutierrez, 50, a resident of Albuquerque for two years, died Thursday, May 25, 2000. Harlan -- Dora T. Harlan, 92, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, May 24, 2000. She is survived by her son, Willie Ray Harlan; grandchildren, Robin Brewington, Jimmy Ray Harlan, Duane Harlan, all of Albuquerque, Michael Harlan of Austin, TX and Rocky L. Harlan of Farmington; great-grandson, Jason Ray Harlan; and great-granddaughter, Dana Cook. Mrs. Harlan was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Harlan; and son, Burl Harlan. Cremation has taken place and graveside services will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Hilton -- Thomas J. Hilton, age 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1976, passed away on May 22, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Elva Hilton; and his daughters, Jann Hilton Choate, Lynn Hilton, Andrea Hilton Thute; grandson, Gannon Hilton Thute; niece, Julie Hilton Walsh; and nephew, Jeffrey Hilton. Mr. Hilton attended the University of New Mexico and graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, and served as an officer in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Upon his return to New Mexico, he was a prominent businessman in Silver City, and later in Corrales. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held privately in Colorado. Strong-Thorne Mortuary handled the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association of New Mexico, 1330 San Pedro NE, Suite 205, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87110. Jackson -- Mildred P. Jackson (Milly), born July 17, 1915 at Buffalo, NY, passed away in Albuquerque, May 26, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Gordon Jackson of Albuquerque; and one son, Rufus Peter Jackson, a retired Army Lt. Col. of Arlington, VA. She is also survived by two half-brothers of the Buffalo, NY area. Cremation has taken place, and her request, there will be no memorial services or flowers. If anyone so desires, they may make a donation to a charity of choice. Cremation arrangements are by Sunrise Society, (891-8200).

Lyle -- Martha Thelma Lyle, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died Monday, May 22, 2000 after a very long, painful battle with bone cancer. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John R. Lyle, Sr. of Albuquerque; sons, John R. Lyle, Jr. of Fullerton, CA and Michael W. Lyle and wife, Kim of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Mary E. Utrup of Cedar Crest, NM, Martha G. Lyle-Erhard and husband, Bruce of Las Cruces, NM, and Veronica A. Petersen of Seaford, NY; daughter-in-law, Dr. Carol Merovka of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren, Anna Maria, Matthew William Utrup and Tara Lichelle Hankins, all of Albuquerque; Michael James Hankins, and wife, Christina of Austin, TX, Kim Colleen Hine and husband, Jeff of Rio Rancho, and Jeffrey Lyle Petersen of Seaford, NY; three great-grandchildren, Trahurn, Michael, and Kallie; and three nephews, Donald Waudby of Dallas, TX, Curtis and E.W. Waudby, both of Ft. Worth, TX. Mrs. Lyle was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Herbert Pearson; and her sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Pearson Waudby. Thelma was born August 21, 1920 in Kansas City, KS to William T. and Gertrude Pearson. She was an accomplished pianist and also gave music lessons. She met John at Ft. Leavenworth, KS in 1937. They have remained sweethearts ever since. Mrs. Lyle went on to complete her degree as a registered nurse from St. Joseph's Hospital in Kansas City, MO. As the wife of an Army careerist, Mrs. Lyle lived in many different cities and countries throughout Europe. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church for many years. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 27, 2000, 8:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, with Father Ronald Bruckner, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery with Deacon Harry Gogan officiating. The family especially wants to thank the Carefree Assisted Living staff and the Kaseman Presbyterian Hospice caregivers for the wonderful care they gave to Thelma. Special thanks to the Marianites and the Eucharistic Ministers of Our Lady of The Annunciation Parish for bringing the Holy Eucharistic to Thelma for many years. Ortega -- Sotera M. Ortega, 81, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Friday, May 5, 2000. She was born January 5, 1919 in Puerto de Luna, New Mexico. She'd been a resident of Albuquerque since 1950. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Espiridion A. Ortega of 62 years; son, Ralph Ortega of Grants; daughters, Rita Sargent and Oilvia Ortega of Albuquerque, and Barbara Arrambide and husband, Jesse Arrambide of El Paso, TX; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends. Sandoval -- Sister Mary of Jesus, O.C.D. (Yvonne Sandoval). Bride of Christ, True Daughter of the Church, and a Carmelite Nun since 1962, Sister Mary of Jesus went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2000. Sister Mary of Jesus was born and raised in Espanola and spent many years of her life in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. During the 1970s, Sister Mary of Jesus worked with Mother Teresa in the ghettos of New York. In Santa Fe, she worked with private attorneys and state agencies. She volunteered with Brother Mathias Barrett at the Barrett House in Albuquerque and the Museum of New Mexico. Her mother, Anna Kavanaugh-Sandoval, preceded Sister Mary of Jesus in death. She is survived by her father, Benjamin Sandoval; her seven brothers, two sisters, and their spouses, Armando and Diana Sandoval, Ben and Tina Sandoval, Eugene and Beaulah Sandoval, Jose and Theresa Sandoval, Arturo and Clara Sandoval, Albert and Mariana Sandoval, John and Eva Sandoval, Liza Keyohara, Margaret and Frank Sanchez; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends also survive her. Mass of the Resurrection will be concelebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Espanola on Saturday, May 27, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her brothers. Schnitzler -- Bert Schnitzler, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday evening, May 25, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Esther; and sons, David and Robert. Spero -- Lawrence A."Larry" Spero, age 79, passed away May 19, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Mary Spero of Albuquerque; daughter, Joanne M. Spero of Durango, CO; son, Thomas L. Spero and wife, Lonnie of Farmington; daughter, Judith E. Traeger and husband, Ric of Tijeras; grandchildren, Kristin Clare Traeger and Teresa Mei Ling Traeger, both of Tijeras; brother, Raymond P. Spero; and sister, Irene Caprioglio and husband, Lou, all of Arvada, CO; and many nieces and nephews. Larry served his country during World War II in the Army, where he was a sergeant. He was the manager of the service shop of General Electric and then became a Westinghouse Sales Rep later in his career. Larry was involved with the Institute of Electrical Engineers, and he also enjoyed fishing, gardening and car repair. He was a kind and devoted husband and father for whose life we are eternally grateful. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, May 27, 2000 at the Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Rd.
