Collins -- Maxine Lillian Collins November 4, 1904 - April 4, 1999"Life can be the same after a trinket is lost, But never after the loss of a treasure"Born in Florissant, Colorado and came to Albuquerque in 1913. Maxine attended Albuquerque High School, after which she was employed by Albuquerque Gas and Electric Company. She married Captain Amos W. Collins, a 25 year veteran check pilot with TWA, and resided in California for 35 years until his death in 1970. She returned to her beloved NM and cared for her mother, Grace Halthusen. Since 1993, Maxine had been a resident of the Montebello Retirement Community along with her sister, Vivian Black, by whom she is survived. Other survivors include a niece, Joyce Camuglia and husband, Joseph, and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Maxine's family and many wonderful friends will miss her quick wit and her ability to laugh at herself. Cremation has taken place. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd, NE.

Cordova -- Mr. Benjamin (Benjie) Cordova, 46, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on April 9, 1999, at home with his loved one at his side. Mr. Cordova is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Margaret Cordova; one daughter, Sara Cordova; one son, Dennis Cordova; his parents, Ernest C. and Stella Cordova; his sister, Priscilla May and husband Roger; his brother, Ernest P. Cordova and wife, Sarah; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Benjie was a member of the catholic church. He was actively involved as a soccer coach with A.Y.S.O. and the Duke City Soccer League and was also a J.V. Soccer Coach at St. Pius High School. Benjie also loved fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He loved everyone and was always there for anyone, especially his family. Visitation will be Sunday evening in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr, SW from 6:30 until 7:00 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 by Father Bill Sanchez. Final visitation will be Monday morning in the St. Augustine Church, Isleta, NM from 8:30 until 9:00 with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 by Father Nick Nirschl. Interment will follow in the La Joya Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Jaramillo, Dave Barboa, Frank Cordova, Steve Martinez, Edwin Telles and Frank Rey. Gabaldon Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Delong -- In Loving Memory of Diane DeLong Diane passed away Tuesday, March 16, 1999 of MS. She is survived by daughters, Carol and Denise, both of Albuquerque. Dix -- Raymond A. Dix, 93, a resident of Albuqueque since 1996, died Friday, April 9, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Mildred E. Dix; daughter, Polly Schaafsma and husband, Curtis of Santa Fe; and grandsons, Hoski Schaafsma and Pieter Schaafsma and wife, Keith. Mr. Dix was born March 31, 1906, near North Springfield, VT to Arthur Benjamin Dix and Lillian Wright Dix. His family were some of the original settlers of Vermont dating back to the 1790's. Mr. Dix and his father shared a pride in this heritage. He was an accomplished precision machinist and was employed for 43 years with Fellows Gear Shaper in Vermont. He was also distinguished as a 70 year member of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. and Mrs. Dix lived in Deming, NM from 1979-1996 where they spent some of their retirement years. Mr. Dix enjoyed photography as a hobby, and he received numerous amateur photography awards. Private family disposition will take place later this spring. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd, NE.

Enright -- Patrick Gearin Enright (Pat) died April 2, 1999 at the age of 59. Pat is survived by his two daughters, Elise and Shannon Enright and his son-in-law, Robert Smith of Albuquerque; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Joe Enright of Dallas, TX; and his sister, Jo Ellen, also from Dallas, TX. Pat spent most of his life as a writer and as a lover of sports. Most of Pat's greatest memories came from his years of playing golf and softball in Taos. Most notably was the Pat Enright Golf Invitational. In lieu of flowers or donations, his daughters ask only that you remember a funny story about Pat and share your story in a letter to them. Fletcher -- John H. Fletcher, age 72, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 7, 1999 in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by son, M. David Fletcher; son, John W. Fletcher; and grandson, Dominic John Montano. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Patricia Fletcher, Albuquerque; his children, Linda Phipps (Paul), Annapolis, MD, Shawn Fletcher (Dawnette), Kevin Fletcher, and Melissa Fletcher, all of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by his brother, Don Troy Fletcher (Alice), Jacksonville, FL; sister, Jewel Williamson, Quitman, GA; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends that he dearly loved. Memorial services to be held Monday, April 12, 1999 in Seattle, WA. John was a retired, 20 year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. and will be laid to rest at Tohoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.God saw you were getting tired, And a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you, And whispered,"Come with Me." With tearful eyes we watched you suffer And saw you fade away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone. A part of us went with you, The day God called you Home. Memories are treasures, No one can steal, This is a heartache Only God can heal. Foster -- Lloyd Galloway Foster, M.D., 90, a current resident in the NM Veterans Center in Truth or Consequences, passed away April 7, 1999. He was born in Clayton, NM and was a longtime resident of the Reserve and Silver City areas. Known as"Doc Foster" by many persons, served as the Catron County Coroner and physician for many years. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma and further specialized in internal medicine in Youngstown, OH. The New Mexico Medical Society honored him for 50 years of dedicated service as a practicing physician in New Mexico. He was a Major in the U.S. Army, serving as a General Surgeon during WWII. He also was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Albuquerque in 1995. He is survived by his children, Mary Glover of Littleton, CO, Lloyd Foster of Sandia Park, Rene Garner of Pine Top, AZ, Lynna Foster of Silver City, Bryant Foster of Arizona; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Graveside services will be Monday, April 12, 1999, 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Garcia -- Luis Alberto Garcia, 56, a resident of Albuquerque for eight years, died Wednesday, April 7, 1999. He is survived by his wife Esperanza"Essie" Tembrook. Mr. Garcia was born in Panama City, Panama and his immediate family lives in Panama. He will be taken to Panama for a funeral memorial service.
