Acers -- Nadine Bradley Raines Acers, 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died Tuesday, December 14, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Gary Acers; children, Charles Bradley and wife, Mary Ann and Debbie Strahlendorf and husband, Roy, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jennifer Zimmer and husband, Erik, Michel McIntyre and husband, Dan, Beth Bradley, Sarah Hamblett and husband, Jonathan, Justin Strahlendorf and Brad Strahlendorf; four great-granddaughters; and sister, Juanita Kirksey of Bolivar, MO. She was preceded in death by her husbands, T.O. Bradley in 1983 and G.M. (Bud) Raines in 1989. Mrs. Acers was born in Pineville, MO on March 10, 1925. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile and the Eastern Star. Berry -- AJ"Jay" Berry, a resident of Albuquerque since 1973, died Tuesday, December 1999. He is survived by his son, Tim Berry and wife, Tammi; daughters, Kathy Hill and husband, Jim and Melinda Lopez and husband, Eddie, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Tom Ficklin and wife, Tiffany, Scott Ficklin and wife, Jodie, Aaron, Lucas, and Emily Lopez, Kyle, Kevin, and Korey Berry; great-grandson, Keegun Ficklin; sister, Lois Young of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy, in July of 1998. Mr. Berry served during WWII as a Naval Flight Instructor. He retired in 1983 after 32 years with Exxon Corporation. Clark -- William"Bill" Clark, 84, passed away December 13, 1999. He was born in Illinois and had lived in New Mexico since 1962 and employed in construction and carpentry. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Clark; children, William Clark Jr. and wife, Sue, Larry Clark, Linda Clark-Dykes and husband, Perry, Randy Clark; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred Kiser, Mary Sanders, Sarah Scuteri; brother, Dudley Clark; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved and will miss him. Comingo -- James Mitchell Comingo, age 78, died Tuesday. He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky, in 1994. He is survived by his wife, Su Chen Comingo; sons, James Haley of Harrodsburg, KY, George Comingo of Bangor, MA; daughter, Sharon Proulx of Brewer, MA; sister, Rosemary Stevenson of Seattle, WA; niece, Jennifer Stevenson of Seattle, WA. A 31 year veteran, serving in the USAF during Korea and Vietnam and the US Army in WWII, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. A member of American Legion Post 49, Life member VFW Harrodsburg, KY, Ballut Abyad Temple of the Shrine, member of Szecwan Blue Lodge #4 Taipei Taiwan, and 32nd degree Scottish Rite Valley of Taipei Orient of Taiwan, China. Doyle -- Raymond Francis Doyle Jr., born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, a resident of Belen, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 1999. Raymond peacefully passed away at his him surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. Raymond also served as a member of the Valencia County Sheriffs Reserves, and was a member of the DAV and PVA. Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Deborah; his five children, Raymond III and his wife, Joan of Connecticut, Kathleen of Ohio, Stephen and his wife, Denise of Los Lunas, Patrick and his wife, Lesley of Las Cruces, Erin and her husband, Matthew of Belen; five grandchildren, Ashley, Shannon, Mariah, Sean and Matthew Ray. Raymond is also survived by his brothers, Phillip Doyle and family of Massachusetts, Lou Quimette and family of California; and a lifelong friend, Gene Bezzeg of Belen. Hawkins -- Edmond Harold Hawkins Sr. 71, a resident of Rio Rancho, died Thursday, December 9, 1999. He is survived by his wife, M.Delle of Rio Rancho; children, Edmond Hawkins Jr., Twila Morris, Andria Gamble, Patricia Hawkins, Carlotta Walton and Gilda Cooper; 16 grandchildren, including special granddaughter, Deborah Gibson; four great-grandchildren, including special great-granddaughter, Kayla Gibson; brothers, Rev. James Hawkins and Raybon Hawkins; sisters, Dr. Vivian Robinson and Marjorie Small; a host of family and friends; and special cousin, Rev. J.D. Felker. Kindler -- Ensign Blaine Ryan Kindler, USN, died suddenly Saturday morning, December 11, 1999, in Newport, Rhode Island. Blaine was born January 25, 1977 in Omak, Washington, but grew up in Albuquerque. In 1995, Blaine graduated from Eldorado High School with honors. Blaine had a love for the outdoors, playing football and spending time with family and friends. He was an Eagle Scout from Troop 409, member of John XXIII Catholic Community Church, a member of the National Honor Society, Youth and Government and played football at Eldorado. He received many football honors while he played for Bell Gentry's Eagles. He was a"99 graduate from the United States Naval Academy with a degree in Ocean Engineering. While playing for the Midshipmen, Blaine played in the 1996 Aloha Bow. During his senior season Blaine was chosen as a pre-season Hula Bowl selection and was an All East candidate. Surviving Blaine are his parents, Don and Archie, of Albuquerque; his sister, Amanda Trout of Las Cruces; and his brother, 1st Lt. Jess Kindler of Fairbanks, Alaska. He also leaves a brother-in-law, Tom Trout and nephew, Coby and his maternal grandmother, Dorothy McLaughlin of Silver City, NM. He leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Montoya -- Deacon Alfonso Montoya, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, December 14, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Clorinda Saavedra Montoya; one son, Lawrence Mendoza and wife, Sandra of Albuquerque; three daughters, Cathy Castillo and Benny of Albuquerque, Eileen Garcia and husband, Ben of Los Alamos and Enedina Anabelle Miller and husband, Ben of Yorktown, VA; eight grandchildren, Brian Miller and wife, Heather, Senior Airman Jason Miller and wife, Felicia, Mark Zamora, Matthew and Nicholas Garcia, Clorinda Jo Torrez and husband, Gabriel, Lance Corporal Christopher Mendoza and Steven Mendoza; four great-grandchildren, Alex Miller, Dustin Miller, Dominik and Arianna Torrez; one brother, Orie Montoya and wife, Nellie; two sisters, Viola Ekdahl and husband, Bill and Genevieve Miller and husband, Robert; two sisters-in-law, Stella Giron and husband, Florian and Eloisa Montoya; one brother-in-law, Eliseo Saavedra and wife, Jennie; and several nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Octaviana Montoya and brothers, Alfred and Eugene Montoya. Deacon Montoya was born August 22, 1928 in Casa Colorada, New Mexico. He served in the U.S. Army and in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the New Mexico Army National Guard after 40 years of military service. He received numerous personal decorations and unit citations. He was a life member of the American Legion and a Third Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. He had worked for the NM State Fair Security for several years. He retired as a Civil Service employee after 35 years. He was presently employed by ADC Limited Security. Deacon Montoya was a member of Sacred Heart Church and ordained Deacon on May 19, 1979. He served as Deacon at Sacred Heart Church for 20 years. He was a member of La Fraternidad de Nuestro Padre Jesus de Nazareno in Veguita, New Mexico. Deacon Montoya and his wife had been foster parents for 41 years to numerous children. Rosary for Deacon Alfonso will be on Thursday, December 16, 7:00 p.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 412 Stover Ave. SW, with visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. Archbishop Sheehan will celebrate Mass at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 17 at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Brian Alfonso Miller, Jason Randolph Miller, Mark Patrick Zamora, Christopher Lawrence Mendoza, Steven Robert Mendoza, Gabriel Martin Torrez, and two of his Godsons, Patrick Anthony Giron and Gary Michael Montoya. Honorary pallbearers will be Los Hermanos de la Fraternidad de Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazereno. The family would like to thank Dr. John Storey and his staff at the St. Joseph's Heart Hospital for all their professional care given to Deacon Montoya and their personal and courteous care given him and his family. Murphy -- Lois Loree Murphy, 75, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, December 13, 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Mahoney and husband, Patrick of Denver, CO; sons, Gary Guynes, Bill Murphy, Joe Murphy and wife, Marianne, and Bob Murphy and wife, Betsy; grandchildren, Mary and Katie Mahoney of Denver, CO, Bryan and Hayley Murphy, Heather Guynes, Sean Murphy, all of Albuquerque; Matt Murphy; and great-grandchildren, Khali and Sheriah of Dallas, TX; sister, Gloria Coombs; and brother, Blayne Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Emmett Murphy. Mrs. Murphy was the daughter of Julian and Mary Lou Smith. She attended St. Vincent's Girl's Academy and Albuquerque High School. She worked for Mountain Bell in the 1940's, then for Blue Cross Blue Shield in the 1970's. Lois loved her family, trips to Elephant Butte Lake, red chili enchiladas and her involvement with senior citizen activities. She was loved and will be missed by many. Nunez -- Mr. Richard H. Nunez"Cato" died Tuesday in Albuquerque at the age of 73. Mr. Nunez was a member of the Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War II and a life member of the DAV Chapter 3. Mr. Nunez is survived by his wife, Stella Nunez; sons, Frank Nunez and wife, Irene, Steve Nunez, Pete Nunez and wife, Marlene, and John Nunez; daughter, Hope Nunez; sisters, Lupe Nunez and Rose Nunez and husband, Antonio; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Phillips -- Sandra Rose Phillips died Saturday, December 11, 1999 at the age of 51. Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Audie Hazel Samples Phillips. Pike -- Edith Helen Gault Hillerby Pike, 90, an Albuquerque resident for 2 1/2 years, passed away Saturday, December 11, 1999. Mrs. Pike was born on June 27, 1909 in Crawford City, Missouri to Florence Walls and Thomas Anderson. She married the love of her life, James Jacob Gault on September 15, 1928 in St. Louis, MO. Mr. Gault preceded her in death in 1952. Edith married Robert Hillerby in 1955. She and Mr. Hillerby lived in Albuquerque, Missouri, and Arizona. They were both active in the Southern Baptist Church, as well as the Masons. She served in many positions with the Eastern Star. Mr. Hillerby preceded her in death. Edith later married Richard Pike and they lived in Oklahoma until his death. She is survived by sons, Richard Gault and wife, Evelyn of Albuquerque, Robert Gault and wife, Sheila of San Jose, CA; daughter, Deloris Halling and husband, Gene of Clearfield, UT; son-in-law, Lloyd Walston of Kansas; ten grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her three husbands, Mrs. Pike was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Oscar; sisters, Rosetta; and a daughter, Janice Walston. Ranagan -- Alfred P. Ranagan, age 80, died Tuesday. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sophie in February, 1983; and his son, Keith A. Ranagan in December, 1991. He is survived by his wife, Anne Ranagan; sons, Gary Ranagan of Castro Valley, CA, Mike Ranagan of Sandy, UT; step-children, Mark Lewis of Aztec, NM, Penny Belvin and husband, Mark of Rio Rancho; grandchildren, Shawn, Gary Jr., Holly, Tim, and Stephanie Ranagan, Michael and Jason Belvin; one great-grandchild. Mr. Ranagan was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish, American Legion Post 49, a veteran of WWII, and was retired from Sandia Base. Viewing will be begin 1:00 p.m., Thursday. The Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m., Thursday, in the Chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Friday, in Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Ream -- Eloise Ream, 89, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, December 13, 1999, after a sudden illness. Mrs. Ream came to Albuquerque in 1916, along with her mother, sisters and brother. She attended St. Vincents Academy for Girls and also Albuquerque High School, where she graduated in 1929, having served as May Queen that same year. In the 1950's, she was a secretary for the State Highway Department District Office, and in the 1970's, owned and operated the Fenton Lake Concessions in the Jemez Mountains. She resided in Jemez Springs during those winters and was active in her hobby of painting landscapes in oil. Mrs. Ream was preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, Elmo Reynolds; her second husband, Glenn O. Ream; and her oldest daughter, Gail. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Reynolds of Albuquerque and Ann Gonzales of Las Vegas, NV; her son, Stephen Reynolds of Talkeetna, AK; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place, and by her wishes, there will be no funeral services and her cremains will be scattered in the Valle Grande of the Jemez Mountains. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.

Sandoval -- Lupita (Pita) Sandoval, born December 16, 1924, daughter of Celso and Carolina Griego, went to be with the Lord, December 14, 1999. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jose Sandoval; her four children and their spouses, Sammy and wife, Denise Sandoval, JoAnn and husband, David Tijerina, Albert and wife, Maggi Sandoval, and Cindy and husband, Walter Candelaria; grandchildren, Justina Tijerina, Tanya Sandoval, Daniel and wife, Cayce Gonzales, and great-grandson, Isaiah, Jennifer Gonzales, and Sara and Stacey Sandoval. She is also survived by six brothers and three sisters. Viewing will be held on Thursday, December 16, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and will be followed by the Rosary, which will be recited by Dee Griego, her sister-in-law, at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at Exalting Jesus Fellowship Church, 436 Pennsylvania, where she was a loved member, on Friday, December 17 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Don Gordon. Pallbearers will be her sons, Sammy and Albert Sandoval, sons-in-law, David Tijerina and Walter Candelaria, grandson, Daniel Gonzales, and nephew, Freddy Griego. Burial will be at Mt. Smith -- Charles L."Pop's" Smith, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since September of 1999, died Tuesday, December 14, 1999 at home. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Molly, in 1988; and daughter, Sybil, in 1975. He is survived by his children, Bonnie Kerr and husband, Mark of Albuquerque, Gary Smith and wife, Kay of Kingston, TN and Barbara Dunn of Broomfield, CO; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother, John Smith of Talent, OR. Charles was born in Lamar, CO in 1916 and spent the better part of his life in various parts of Colorado. His roots and best friends are in Brush, CO. He leaves behind many good people there who will miss him, especially his poker buddies. Charles loved to garden, shoot trap and skeet, fish and take drives in the countryside. Smith -- Christopher Robin Smith, 27, passed away Tuesday morning, December 14, 1999. He fought cancer for 22 years. He was the bravest man we have ever known, and we are better for having known him. Willcutt -- Roland James Willcutt, born September 3, 1951, died Sunday, December 12, 1999 at the age of 49. A lifetime resident of Albuquerque, he was a lifetime member of Iron Workers Local 495 and a member of St. Anne's Parish. Witiuk -- Stephan Witiuk, 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, went into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, December 15, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Christine Chavez and husband, Clifford and Sandra Ulibarri and husband, William, all of Belen; two sons, Michael Witiuk and wife, Dawn and John Witiuk and wife, Nicolle, all of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, John Witiuk; two sisters, Olga Witiuk and Helen Witiuk; two sisters-in-law, Anne Marie Witiuk and Theresa Witiuk; special nephew, Larry Levine; and many other nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephan; two brothers, George and Walter. Mr. Witiuk was born in Newark, NJ. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, proudly serving in the Corps of Engineers in the European Theater. Mr. Witiuk, a disabled veteran, was a member of V.F.W. Post 401.
