Barr -- Homer Walton Barr, 73, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, December 11, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Paula J. Barr; son, Greg W. Barr; daughter, Sandy McMurray and husband, Lindsey, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Matt, Mike, Mark, Katy, Beth, Sean, Rachel and Meredith; brother, Bob Barr and wife, Kitty; sisters, Eva Bryant and Vivian Ehlers and husband, Warren; and many other family and friends. Bengson -- In loving memory of Edward"Chip" Bengson, 45, resident of Albuquerque, born May 30, 1954, passed away on December 9, 1999. After losing his battle to Cancer, our beloved Husband, Son, Step-Father, Brother, Uncle, and Friend has joined the Angles in heaven. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Bengson. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Bengson; and step-children, Bryan and LaVonne Cockrell; his father, Myron Bengson and step-mother, Elaine; sisters, Karen Bengson and Jeri and husband, Dan Kotulik, and daughters, Becky, Amy, and Beth. Chip is also survived by uncle, Charles Bengson; father-in-law, David N. Gonzales; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fermin Gonzales, Mary Lou Dominguez, Angie Gonzales, Juan Gonzales, Lorraine Barela, Isabel Gonzales, Helen Baca, Joseph Gonzales, Josephine Gonzales, and numerous nephews and nieces. Chip graduated from the University of New Mexico's School of Engineering. He was employed at Sandia National Laboratories as a Systems Analyst for many years. His hobbies were baseball, computers, traveling, golf, and spending time with his family. Chip was confirmed into the Catholic faith and was a faithful member of the Our Lady of the Assumption Church. His belief in the Lord carried him through his suffering and delivered him into the arms of the Savior. Cremation services are being handled by the Sunrise Society of NM. The family requests that all friends, acquaintances and colleagues join them in remembering Chip. Conrow -- Betty J. Conrow, 73, succumbed to numerous longtime afflictions at her home in Rio Rancho on December 2, 1999. She was attended by her husband of 54 years, Russell C. Conrow; and her lifelong friend, Thelma Miller of Denver, CO. Betty and her husband served as a family in the military service for our country for 24 years, including a stay in Japan. She has donated her body to the University of New Mexico Medical School for organ harvesting and research. It is her wish that there be no funeral or memorial service. All cremated remains will be interred in the Santa Fe National Cemetery when the research is completed. She is survived by her husband; son, Bruce W. Conrow and his wife, Marie of Rio Rancho; granddaughter, Christina Hetmer and her husband, Michael; great-grandson, Kory; grandson, Matthew A. Conrow; son, Paul L. Dozier -- Funeral services for Arnold Dozier, 69, of Rosharon, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday in the Rosharon Baptist Church. Mr. Dozier passed away Saturday, December 11, 1999 in Angleton, Texas. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Palms Funeral Home. Mr. Dozier was a 20 year resident and a member of Rosharon Volunteer Fire Dept. and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret"Dusty" Dozier in 1990; and his brother, Buddy Dozier in 1995. Eagar -- Evelyn Eagar, age 93, born in 1906, passed away Sunday, December 12, 1999 at home in Albuquerque, after a lengthy illness. She is survived by two daughters, Janet Mauzy of Albuquerque and Evelyn Ann Woods of Kirtland, NM. A longtime resident of Kirtland, with the last few years in Albuquerque with her daughter, Janet. Erdman -- Rev. W."Winn" Erdman, age 87, of Las Cruces, died Thursday, December 9, 1999 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born January 22, 1912 in Quincy, Illinois to Walter and Julia Winn Erdman. Rev. Erdman was a Presbyterian Minister who served as a missionary for 30 years in Mexico and also had a long history of ministering in different areas of New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Erdman of Las Cruces; four sons, Winn Erdman of Placitas, Charles Erdman of Mexico City, Mexico, James Erdman of Mead, WA, Daniel Erdman of Albuquerque; and two daughters, Julia Atkinson of Durango, CO and Marian Dyer of Littlerock, AR. Goss -- Kenneth E. Goss, 55, a resident of Belen, passed away suddenly on December 9, 1999 in Cortez, Colorado. Kenneth worked for C&H Refrigeration in Albuquerque. He is survived by his loving wife of four years, Rose Goss of Edgewood; his children, Cindy Goss of Virginia, Marty Goss of Maryland; his mother, Hazel Goss of Belen; his brother, Franklin Goss and his wife, Elva of Maryland; two nieces and one nephew. Griego -- Eloy Adalberto Griego, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, December 09, 1999, after a long illness. He is survived by his children, Richard Griego and wife, Jennie of San Juan Capistrano, CA, Beatrix Apodaca and husband, Edward of La Mirada, CA, Eloy Griego Jr. of Albuquerque, Paul Griego and wife, Renata of Corrales and Robert Griego and wife, Neecie of Rio Rico, AZ; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Neri Maestas, Bruna Weaver, Nelda Baca and Selina"Sally" Romero and husband, Art; sister-in-law, Fidelia Griego, all of Albuquerque; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Chanita Griego; and his brother, Paul Griego. Mr. Griego was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He was retired from teaching in the Los Lunas High School District and had also retired as Secretary/Treasurer of the Iron Workers Union of America, Local 495. Mr. Griego was a man of many talents, including the gift of gab and great charisma. He was a candidate for State Senate from Bernalillo County in the 50's. Hawkins -- Edmond Harold Hawkins Sr. 71, a resident of Rio Rancho, died Thursday, December 9, 1999. He is survived by his wife, M.Delle of Rio Rancho; children, Edmond Hawkins Jr., Twila Morris, Andria Gamble, Patricia Hawkins, Carlotta Walton and Gilda Cooper; 16 grandchildren, including special granddaughter, Deborah Gibson; four great-grandchildren, including special great-granddaughter, Kayla Gibson; brothers, Rev. James Hawkins and Raybon Hawkins; sisters, Dr. Vivian Robinson and Marjorie Small; a host of family and friends; and special cousin, Rev. J.D. Felker. Joppa -- Richard Marvin"Marv" Joppa, age 70, of Los Alamos, died Sunday, December 12, 1999, from complications of pneumonia. Born in Littleton, Colorado, he grew up in the small town of Hillrose. Graduating from Colorado State University, he became a regular officer in the United States Air Force, completing a 20 year career and earning a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois. For 18 years, he was employed by the Los Alamos National Laboratory as an engineer and a budget analyst. He became a private pilot with an instrument rating. Preceded in death by his daughter, Dianne Dawn Joppa-Nelis, he is survived by his wife, Maxine; and a daughter, Marian Arlyss Joppa of Farmington. At the request of the deceased there will be no service. Scattering of ashes will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a favorite charity. Pierce -- ATTENTION: SERVICE TIME HAS CHANGED. Vivian Tillery Pierce, 82, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, December 10, 1999. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Ann Pierce Moore and Carolyn Pierce Smith and husband, Mac; grandchildren, Zane Allen Moore and wife, Kathy, William Kurt Moore, all of Texas and Shawn McDonald Smith and wife, Joy of California; great-grandchild, Christiana Angele McKenzie Smith; sister, Hazel Shockey; adopted sister, Vera Syverson; and numerous loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Pierce of 62 years. Mrs. Pierce was a charter member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church. She retired from Martin Bakery and was a caregiver to family members as well as many others. Schmitt -- William F. Schmitt, 85, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 21 years, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 1999. William was born May 7, 1914 in New York City, New York, the son of F.M. and Anna Spangler Schmitt. He had been a Mail Clerk for the Railroad before retiring. William was past commander, member for 22 years of Post 277 VFW, Richfield Park, New Jersey, member of Post 8590 VFW, Rio Rancho, Knights of Columbus, Rio Rancho Group, Council 6696, Third Degree, Life member of American Legion, was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Hackensak, New Jersey. He is survived by his wife, Adeline of Rio Rancho; daughters, Mary Ann Anderson and husband, Richard C. of Teaneck, NJ; one brother, Arthur Schmitt of Oakridge, NY; grandchildren, Elaine Carratura of Teaneck, NJ and Gary Anderson of Willmington, DE; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Carratura and Erin and Eric Anderson. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 1999, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with the service on Thursday, December 16, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, with the Rev. Skidmore -- Frank"Skid" Skidmore, born June 23, 1910, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 11, 1999. His last days were spent surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 64 1/2 years, Mattye Jim; five daughters, Martha Sargent and husband, Marvin, Beth Skidmore, Francine Pawley and husband, Robert, Jean Rexroat and husband, Alec, and Dorie Skidmore. He was"G-Dad" to Tracy Weisert and partner, Brian Piatek, Jimmie Thompson and husband, Bobby, Jake Gallegos and wife, Deborah, Frank Gallegos and wife, Cynthia, Julie Gallegos, Christopher Pawley and Heather Whitesides, Catherine Labastida and husband, Antonio, Michelle Visak and husband, Jerry, Jennifer Rexroat, Megan Korezak and husband, Joey. He was Great-Grandad to Marina and Melanie Weisert, Sarah Gallegos, Danny and Jesse Thompson, Zachary Steele, Rebecca Gallegos, John, Alicia and Serena Gallegos, Alexander Whitesides and Erik Whitford, Corinne and Cayla Labastida and Riley Korezak. He was married March 15, 1935 in El Paso to Mattye Jim Deaner, and they moved to Albuquerque. He worked at R.L. Harrison Company and Contractors Equipment Company until the family moved to Oak Park, IL. He worked for Associated Equipment Distributors as Director of Industry Services until his retirement in 1975 and moved back to Albuquerque. He was a member of Hiram #13 Masonic Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Ballut Abyad Shrine, Toastmasters and Albuquerque Host Lions Club. He was an original member of the Albuquerque 20-30 Club. He was an avid Lobo fan and loved to read. Most of all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, and G-dad. Services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Alec Rexroat, Robert Pawley, Christopher Pawley, Jake Gallegos, Frank Gallegos, William Schum and Marvin Sargent. Ware -- Marjorie Grace (Perkins) Ware, age 78, born July 15, 1921 in Alameda, CA, died December 10, 1999 in Albuquerque. She is survived by her husband, Charles Burton Ware; two sons, Charles B. Ware Jr. and Alan H. Ware. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Wilson -- Archer M. Wilson, of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, December 12, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Reid Smith Wilson; daughter, Joan Witsil and husband, Jerold of Belle Mead, NJ; two grandchildren, Michael Archer Witsil and Melissa H. Witsil; step-daughter, Shirley Kerns and husband, Douglas; step-son, Larry T. Smith and wife, Alice; four step-grandchildren, Daniel Kerns, Debi Tunnell, Jason Smith and Paige Smith; and three step-great-grandchildren, Desiree Tunnel, Reid Tunnell, and Justin Kerns. He is also survived by a very close friend, Col. (Ret.) Edward G. Anderson, with whom he shared a brother-like friendship. Mr. Wilson received his engineering education at Rutgers University and, except for nine years as an engineer in private industry and the U.S. Air Force, he spent his entire working career as a civilian engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He started work in 1939 as a Topographic Draftsman and retired in 1972 as the Chief Topographic Engineer, U.S. Army Engineer Topographic Command. He and his wife moved to Albuquerque in 1978 and have been active in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, including two years a president of Albuquerque Chapter 80 and two years as Legislative Vice President of New Mexico Federation of Chapters, NARFE. Services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Myron White officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the wonderful Lovelace Hospice, 5155 Jefferson St. NE 87109.
