Austin -- Daisy Austin. On Saturday, December 11, 1999, Daisy Austin left us to join her parents, Manuel Samora Sr. and Frances Samora, along with her brother, Manuel Samora Jr. and our Lord. She was born in 1934 and resided in Albuquerque. She was a devoted member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and Aristocrat Caravaners. She is survived by her loving husband, Fred Austin of 44 years. Mrs. Austin was a nurturing mother to a son, Gilbert Austin and his companion, Dora Villalobos; her daughters, Carol Ayala and her husband, Carlos, Karen Chavira and her husband, Glenn. Mrs. Austin is survived by a brother, Johnny Samora and his wife, Annie; her sister, Rosa Ochoa. She was a devoted grandmother to Vicente Ayala, Natalie Ayala, Glenn Chavira, Jason Chavira, Denise Chavira, Gabriela Daisy Austin. Mrs. Austin is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. She devoted her life to care for the people she loved. Funeral Services for Mrs. Austin will be held on Tuesday at the St. Anne's Catholic Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Natalie Ayala, Becky Serna, Annette Laher, Lisa Adair, Jackie Jensen and Athena Samora. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Chavira, Vicente Ayala, Anthony Samora, Robert Samora, Arthur Samora and Joe Ochoa. Castillo -- Maria Luisa Castillo, 93, a resident of Albuquerque for 71 years, died Friday, December 10, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Victorio C. Castillo of the family home; son, Victor Castillo and wife, Charleen of Albuquerque; daughters, Alice Montano and husband, Leo of Belen, Evangeline Aragon and husband, Frank of Albuquerque; Carmen Richards and husband, Bill of Forth Walton Beach, FL, Irene Candelaria and husband, Criss of Springerville, AZ, Luisa Cullum and husband, Larry of Durango, CO and Gloria Castillo-Campos and her husband, Paul of Santa Fe; 31 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Maria Luisa was an active member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Monday, 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd. SW, with Joe Sisneros reciting. Erickson -- Mignon Annette Erickson, 103, a resident of Abilene since 1994, formerly of Albuquerque, NM, died Friday, December 10, 1999 at a local Abilene, TX hospital. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and the Naomi Circle of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Erickson was preceded in death by her husband, Sigfred Erickson; a son, Sigred Nils Erickson; a daughter, Vivian Swanson; a granddaughter, Vivian Joyce Call; a sister, Vivian Wilkinson; and two nieces. She is survived by five grandsons, Sigfred Nils Erickson, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Dan Swanson, Jr. of Vilonia Ark., Charles Swanson of Pensacola, FL, Robert Swanson of Arlington, TX and James Swanson of Amarillo, TX; seven great-grandchildren, Amy Swanson, Tracy Swanson, D.J. Geibig -- Eugene"Gene" Rupert Geibig, 81, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past twenty years, passed away on Friday, December 10, 1999. Gene was born February 13, 1918 in Osceola, Michigan, the son of Jacob and Margaret Redmer Geibig. Gene had been a Police Commander with the City of Detroit Police Department before retiring. He was a Charter Member of Calvary Lutheran Church, member of the Rio Rancho Kiwanis Club, member of Michigan Chiefs of Police, member of the American Society of Industrial Security, was a Certified Protection Professional. Gene was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Hoffman in 1998. He is survived by his wife of 35 years,"Toby" Geibig of Rio Rancho; five children, Jack Randolf Geibig, Kenneth Geibig, Betty Crosby and husband, Walter, Carol Trudo, and Kathy Humes and husband, Bill, all of Michigan; two step-children, Fred Pease and wife, Dianne of Rio Rancho and Cheryl Longhway and husband, Jim of Michigan; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Joan Goebel and husband, Robert of Wisconsin. Macpherson -- Buelah Ann Macpherson, 89, passed away December 4, 1999 at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. A resident of New Mexico from 1952 to 1998, she taught in the Albuquerque Public Schools at Griegos Elementary School. Born in Essex, Tennessee on the McPherson family farm, Buelah attained a BA from Delta State University and a MA from Memphis State University in History and attended the University of North Carolina to work on her Ph.D. in History. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. John Episcopal Church, The Daughters of the King, The New Mexico Retired Teachers Association, The American Association of University Women, a Life member of the St. Andrew Scottish Society of New Mexico and instructor of the Macpherson Scottish Highland Dancers. An avid historian, Buelah was fiercely Scottish and was an inspiring influence on the Scottish community of New Mexico. She fought a courageous battle with declining health over the past few years. She left her home in Albuquerque a year ago to be near her family. She is survived by nephews, John McPherson and wife, Georgia Ann of Indianola, MS, Dr. Frank McPherson and wife, Joyce of Vicksburg, MS; nieces, Helen Boyd and husband, Gaston and Ann Parent of Huntsville, AL; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 5, 2:00 p.m., at the Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks, MS with internment at the Marks Cemetery. Scottish bagpiper, Marty Burnett of Memphis, TN, played Buelah's favorite piping tune,"Going Home", for the services. A Holy Eucharist Memorial Service will be held in Albuquerque, December 16, 3:00 p.m., at the Cathedral of St. John's Episcopal Church at 4th & Silver SW, with a reception following. Donations may be made in Buelah's name to the American Cancer Society.

Marek -- Richard G. Marek, 79, a resident of New Mexico since 1938 and of Albuquerque since 1983, died Saturday, December 11, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Temperance Marek of the family home; son, Dr. Richard Marek, Jr. and wife, Aurelia of Albuquerque; daughters, Judith L. Morris and husband, David of Port Angeles, WA, Jo M. Hanson and husband, Paul of Sierra Madre, CA, Jane M. Tulley and husband, Gerry of Glencoe, NM and Jeanette E. Scott and husband, Ronnie of Loving, NM; grandchildren, Thais Marek, Trent Marek, Carolyn Wise and husband, Danny, Erin Kaui and husband, Randy, Darrell Hanson and wife, Sonali, Travis Hanson, Mackey Tulley, Malaika Tully, Pecos Davis and wife, Rebecca, Megan Davis, Chezie Davis, Kelsey Davis, Silas Sims, Hannah Sims, Tabitha Sims and Jesse Sims; mother, Anna Marek of Berwyn, IL; sister, Gwendolyn Dexcich of Waukegan, IL; and eight great-grandchildren. He was a distinguished alumni at New Mexico State University. Richard was a captain in the US Army during WWII and a recipient of two purple hearts. He retired as a County Extension Agent in Eddy County after 35 years of service. Richard also served as President of the National Association of County Agricultural Agents. He was active in the Elks Club Lodge #461, Master Gardeners and New Mexico Stewards Association. Mcgee -- Ina J. McGee, age 78, died December 10, 1999. Ina is survived by one brother, Dixon Deemer of Sacramento, CA; a son, Stephen McGee of San Diego, CA; four daughters, Kathleen Hatfield and Rebecca McGee of Rio Rancho, Cheryl McGee and Patricia Tarr of Ft. Lupton, CO; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. McGee was in the first group of The Women's Marine Corp when it was first formed in 1943 and serving until 1945 when she was honorably discharged. Cremation has taken place with Burial of cremains to take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. Padilla -- Mr. Luis Padilla died on Saturday at the age of 99 years. Mr. Padilla was a World War I Veteran who received the Purple Heart. He was awarded the Croix de Guerre medal from France this August. Mr. Padilla was a lifetime member of the DAV Chapter 3. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucina; and great grandson, Brian. Mr. Padilla is survived by his son, Bill J. Padilla and his wife, Michele of Albuquerque; his grandchildren, Bill Padilla Jr. and wife, Karen of Pagosa Springs, CO, Kathleen Sanchez and husband, Michael of Alb, Robert Padilla and wife, Suzanne of Boise, Idaho, John Padilla of Alb, Patty Padilla of Alb, Karen Martinez and husband, Mervin of Alb; ten great grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Pierce -- Vivian Tillery Pierce, 82, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, December 10, 1999. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Ann Pierce Moore and Carolyn Pierce Smith and husband, Mac; grandchildren, Zane Allen Moore and wife, Kathy, William Kurt Moore, all of Texas and Shawn McDonald Smith and wife, Joy of California; great-grandchild, Christiana Angele McKenzie Smith; sister, Hazel Shockey; adopted sister, Vera Syverson; and numerous loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Pierce of 62 years. Mrs. Pierce was a charter member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church. She retired from Martin Bakery and was a caregiver to family members as well as many others. Skidmore -- Frank"Skid" Skidmore, born June 23, 1910, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 11, 1999. His last days were spent surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 64 1/2 years, Mattye Jim; five daughters, Martha Sargent and husband, Marvin, Beth Skidmore, Francine Pawley and husband, Robert, Jean Rexroat and husband, Alec, and Dorie Skidmore. He was"G-Dad" to Tracy Weisert and partner, Brian Piatek, Jimmie Thompson and husband, Bobby, Jake Gallegos and wife, Deborah, Frank Gallegos and wife, Cynthia, Julie Gallegos, Christopher Pawley and Heather Whitesides, Catherine Labastida and husband, Antonio, Michelle Visak and husband, Jerry, Jennifer Rexroat, Megan Korezak and husband, Joey. He was Great-Grandad to Marina and Melanie Weisert, Sarah Gallegos, Danny and Jesse Thompson, Zachary Steele, Rebecca Gallegos, John, Alicia and Serena Gallegos, Alexander Whitesides and Erik Whitford, Corinne and Cayla Labastida and Riley Korezak. He was married March 15, 1935 in El Paso to Mattye Jim Deaner, and they moved to Albuquerque. He worked at R.L. Harrison Company and Contractors Equipment Company until the family moved to Oak Park, IL. He worked for Associated Equipment Distributors as Director of Industry Services until his retirement in 1975 and moved back to Albuquerque. He was a member of Hiram #13 Masonic Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Ballut Abyad Shrine, Toastmasters and Albuquerque Host Lions Club. He was an original member of the Albuquerque 20-30 Club. He was an avid Lobo fan and loved to read. Most of all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, and G-dad. Services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
