Anderson -- Shirley E. Anderson, 80, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, November 17, 1999. She is survived by her daughters, Alanna Gail Anderson of California, Karen Lee Breeding and husband, Richard of Albuquerque, and Rosemary Anderson of California; grandchildren, Mary, Sean, Patrick, and Bridget Breeding; and brother, Clarence Kramer of South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm W. Anderson on October 26, 1997; son, Michael Anderson on July 19, 1999 in San Francisco. Mrs. Anderson graduated from high school in Sioux City, IA. She married Malcolm W. Anderson in 1946. Mrs. Anderson loved writing poetry and cooking. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mrs. Anderson was a loving mother and grandmother, and she will be deeply missed. Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 19, 1999, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE, with Father Francis X. Eggert, Celebrant. Barnett -- Ulysses S. (a.k.a. U.S. Barnett), 72, was called home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 10, 1999. Barreras -- Dorothy S. Barreras, 77 years old, and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 1999. Dorothy was born June 14, 1922, to Aurelia B. Sanchez and Uvaldo Sanchez. Her sister, Eulogia Turnbull preceded her in passing. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Jose; her brother, Albert Sanchez and her sister, Frances Scheuring and her husband, Francis; her three sons and their wives, Arthur Garcia and Margaret, Moises Barreras and Diane, and Michael Barreras and ann; her two daughters and their husbands, Lorraine Lynch and Frank and Joyce Vigil and Richard; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy's life was her family and she gave generously of herself to all she loved as a devoted Esposa, Madre, Abuela and Tia. You are in our hearts forever. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 19, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at Fitzgerald and Son, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE. Rudolfo Baca will conduct the memorial service with special remembrances given by two of Dorothy's grandsons, Andres Garcia and Kenneth Barreras. Bridgeman -- Barbara Ann Bridgeman, 46, born in Griffin, GA on October 10, 1953, died Tuesday, November 16, 1999. She was the wife of James Edward Bean and mother of Allison Corinne Bean. Her mother, Dorothy Bridgeman, and brother, Perry Bridgeman and wife, Donna of Charlotte, NC survives her. The family of her husband, Jean Bean, Robin and Randy Howe, Dennis, Shannon, and Kristin also mourns Barbara. Her father, Luther Bridgeman, preceded her in death. Barbara was a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with AGRA Earth and Environmental. She was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers. She was also a registered Professional Engineer in New Mexico and Colorado. Among the highlights of her career was her work on the UMTRA project and her recent work on the"Big I" intersection redesign project at I-25 and I-40 in Albuquerque. Barbara was a graduate of Chatham Hall School of Virginia, Tufts University, and North Carolina State University. She was a resident of Albuquerque and had lived in Manteo, NC, Charlotte, NC, and Denver, CO. Her associates will remember Barbara for her professional integrity. She and her family have been the recipient of many acts of love and kindness by their many friends. Buchalter -- Dorothy F."Dottie" Buchalter, 68, a nine year resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away suddenly following vacation to Hawaii on Saturday, November 13, 1999, from complications after heart surgery in La Jolla, California. She was born in Morris County, TX, near Daingerfield, TX on September 26, 1931 to Elsie Mae and Benford L. Pomeroy of East Texas, and was the 1st of eight children. She married Alfred"Buck" Buchalter, her husband of nearly 48 years on April 12, 1952 in Fresno, CA. She accompanied him during his 20 year career in the U.S. Air Force to assignments all over the United States and Germany. The couple resided in Lubbock, TX for approximately 17 years, eventually retiring in Albuquerque, NM. She was a licensed cosmetologist vocational instructor in Lubbock, TX for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, homemaking, and travel. She is survived by her husband Alfred"Buck" Buchalter of Albuquerque; son, Michael Buchalter and his wife, Elizabeth of Lake Dallas, TX; grandsons, Quentin Buchalter of Lake Dallas, TX and Clifford Buchalter of Highpoint, NC; sisters, Martha Joe Maples of Jefferson, TX, Vela Mae Pace of Dike, TX; Betty Sue Kipfer of Tyler, TX; brothers, J.P. Voight of Marshall, TX, James Wade Pomeroy of Marshall, TX, Charles Pomeroy of Farmers Branch, TX and Benny Pomeroy of Texas; along with many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. Farley -- Michael Thomas Farley, 2, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, November 16, 1999. Gabaldon -- Zeke Gabaldon, age 61, passed away Monday, November 15, from complications related to Beryllium lung disease in Anaheim, California, where he resided for 40 years. Born in Albuquerque, November 28, 1937, Zeke later joined the Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Hornet for three years from 1956-58. A machinist employee of Boeing North American, Zeke is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Steven and Paul; and three grandchildren, Erik, Taylor and Traci. He is also survived by his sisters, Helen Gray of Elephant Butte and Gloria Cordova and Melinda Gabaldon of Albuquerque; as well as one brother, Gilbert Gabaldon; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Hare -- James Charles Hare"JC" passed away Tuesday, November 16, 1999 at UNMH from an extended illness. He was born in Albuquerque on May 14, 1986. He is survived by his parents, James L. Hare and Terry Hare of Moriarty, formally of Logan; his two brothers, Justin and Brandon Hare of the home; grandparents, Wanda and Charles Miller of Raton and Charlsie Hare of Albuquerque; great-grandparents, WH"Bill" and Pearl Miller and Carrie Price, all of Raton and Mary Wilson of Albuquerque; aunt, Cindy Simms of Las Cruces and aunt, Penny and uncle, Leonard Lopez of Raton; cousins, Sarah and Kevin Simms of Las Cruces and Jamie and Ashley Lopez of Raton; and numerous great-aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. In August, the"Make A Wish Foundation of NM" granted JC his wish for a Quarter Horse. Chy'a Johnston and family presented Hobo Doc to JC during the"Expo 99" at the New Mexico State Fair Grounds. Numerous other gifts, a new saddle, bridle, blanket, coat, ropes, feed, vet care, and many other items were also given. He had spent many hours with trainer and best friend, Jim Shaw riding along the Rio Grande River. JC and Jim were very much at peace on their horses. Harper -- Leroy V. Harper, age 87, passed away November 17, 1999. He had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1957. He retired from the Air Force in 1962 after serving for 27 years. He was born in Choctaw, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife Mary, of 59 years; son, John Harper; daughter, Leanne Gideon; grandsons, John D. Harper and Timothy A. Gideon; and granddaughter, Megan Gideon, all of Albuquerque. Graveside services and burial will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery. French Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Jones -- Marianne Claycomb Jones, born October 12, 1920, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, died peacefully on November 15, 1999, at her home in Albuquerque. She was married to Byron Jones from 1940 to 1963 and raised four children to Chickasha, Oklahoma. During those years she and her family spent many happy summers in the Jemez Mountains of New Mexico, where they owned and operated a wilderness guest ranch for children and adults. After having been a military wife early in her marriage, and a homemaker until her children were grown, she returned to school and received a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. She spent the next several years working as a social worker in Chickasha, Norman and Sayre, Oklahoma before moving to Albuquerque to be near her children. She quickly resumed her career as a psychiatric social worker at the Veteran's Hospital in Albuquerque, where she worked with patients and eventually developed an extremely efficient and innovative intake program, which she headed until her retirement. She is survived by her four children, Byron Jones, Marianne Jones Jr., Lucy Kyle and Chris Hepler, who all still live and work in Albuquerque. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Andrew Kyle of Albuquerque, and Daniel and Lori Jones of San Antonio, TX. Cremation has taken place and disposition of her ashes will be by her children in keeping with her wishes. After many years of loving and caring for animals and supporting various animal care facilities and organizations, Marianne's wish for those who would like to do something in remembrance of her, is that contributions be sent to any such organization or facility in her name.

Lujan -- Lourdes M. Lujan, 92, was called home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 16, 1999. She is survived by one sister, Ethel Ziegler of California; two Goddaughters, Dolores Garcia of California and Joyce Cervantes of Albuquerque; nieces and nephews, Etta Allan, Maria Lawhorn, Lucille Rivera, Katerina C de Vaca, Ruth Wagner, Juliette and Leroy Duran, Robert and Sandy Lujan, Ernest and Stellan Lujan, Bobby and Mary Wagner, Leo C de Vaca Jr., Tiney C de Vaca, Eva and Donald C de Vaca; and her beloved children, Ted and Dora Lujan who loved her as a mother for many years. She will be greatly missed. Final viewing will be this morning, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Mastromonico -- Joseph James Mastromonico Sr., 96, passed away in Albuquerque on November 17, 1999. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elena Tuccillo Mastromonico. Joseph was born in New York, NY in 1903, was a resident of Fort Walton Beach, FL since 1979, a former resident of Aiken, SC, and a recent resident of Albuquerque. He was the loving father of Arnold, Joseph and Charles; grandfather to Michelle, Philip, Tim, Kara, Marc, Laurel, Jeff, and Elizabeth; and great-grandfather to Tyler, Lindsey, Morgan, Hannah, Aimie, and Katie. He is endeared by his daughters-in-law, Thea, Darlene, and Jane, and his enduring family, Judy, and his family friends of the Italian American Culture Society, Bill, Rae, Joe, Leo, Ray, and Nellie. Joseph was an acclaimed artist to his family and was active in the Arts and Design Society of Fort Walton Beach, past president of AARP, the originator of the Blue Light emergency response system for the elderly, active in the Bookmobile, a senior member of the Sons of Italy, and an enduring friend to most everyone who had the joy of meeting him. Moore -- "Cowboy" Jimmy Moore finally has a chance for a rematch with Willie Mosconi today. The Cowboy left this world Wednesday, at the age of 89 years, of natural causes. He is survived by the most important person in his life, his wife of 50 years, Julie, along with seven loved children, 11 dear grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. By his large family, he will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and endearing loving spirit. There are precious few people on this world who touch so many peoples lives, and everyone who was blessed enough to have the opportunity for Cowboy to touch theirs, will remember him as a great ambassador to the game of pool, as well as an ambassador to this world. Nordstrum -- Stanley C. NordstrumStanley died November 16, 1999. He was born November 27, 1915 in Humboldt, IA to Olive and Carlton Nordstrum. He graduated from Humboldt High School and attended Iowa State College. He married Marian E. Lovett, March 19, 1936, and they were farmers in Garden Grove, IA until 1965 when they moved to Santa Fe. He became the Buildings and Grounds Superintendent of St. Johns College and he and Sis lived on campus as resident until moving to Albuquerque in 1979. Survivors include his devoted wife, Marian (Sis); and children, Olive (Gussie) Williams and husband, Gary of Mackinaw City, MI, Mary Brooks and husband, Glen of Albuquerque, Bob Nordstrum of Albuquerque, and Doug Nordstrum and wife, Marj of West Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Kevin Williams, Brian and wife, Laurel Williams, Eric Williams, Kristi and husband, Wes Lane, Patrick Nordstrum, Angie and husband, Chad Neiderhauser and Matt Nordstrum. Also surviving him him is his sister, Grace Lovett; sister-in-law, Hazel Nordstrum; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Doug and Mary Ellen Lovett; and many special friends. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Nordstrum and Frank Nordstrum and his wife, Katie; brothers-in-law, Arnold Lovett and Bob Lovett and his wife, Barbara; and grandson, Mark A. Brooks. Stanley filled his retirement years as a handyman/fixer-upper for relatives and friends. He enjoyed fishing, was a lifetime member of Optimist International, and a St. Johns College honorary alumnus. A resident of Sunbridge Mission Manor since March, 1997, his family is very grateful for the outstanding love, care and concern given to him by all of the staff. Cremation has taken place. Price -- Dorothy D. Price, 90, born September 10, 1909, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, November 17, 1999 at her home in Rio Communities in Belen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmas Price. She retired as a kindergarten teacher from the public schools of Kansas and was once voted"Kindergarten Teacher of the Year" for the state of Kansas. She was a loving and courageous person with a sincere love for children. Dorothy was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma during her years in Belen and was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church at 113 La Luna, in Belen, where she was very active in the Women's Outreach Program. During her last several months she was comforted by caretakers, Kate Dougherty, Julia Torres, Lucy Maez, her doctor, Steve Cohen, and a very special friend, Lois Tafoya. She is survived by her nephew, William Richard Switzer and his wife, Marion of Clamath Falls, OR. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, November 20, 1999, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, with Father Phil West presiding. Sunrise Society is in charge of arrangements. Ramsey -- Patti McCrary Ramsey, 48, of Farmington, died November 16, 1999, in Farmington. She fought a courageous battle against cancer and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was born December 28, 1950 in Albuquerque. Patti attended Valley High School and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education from UNM. In 1980, she and Charles Ramsey were married in Farmington. Before their marriage, Patti worked five years for El Paso Natural Gas at the Chaco Plant in the Corrosion Department. Patti was an educator. She was a teller trainer at the First National Bank in Albuquerque, did volunteer work at Ladera Elementary School, taught fourth grade at McKinley Elementary School, and took great pride in her Sunday School classes at St. John's Episcopal Church. She won the John Phillip Sousa Award twice in junior high school for flute, was a spelling bee winner twice, and a baton twirler. She graduated 10th in her high school class. In 1988, Patti helped form the South West Kidney Support Group. She is survived by her husband, Charles Ramsey; son, Zachary Ramsey; parents, Lester and June McCrary; sister, Mrs. Ray (Diane) Ayers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray Ayers, Scott and Linda Ramsey, and Ross and Christine Ramsey. Services are at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 1999, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 312 N. Orchard Ave., in Farmington, conducted by Father Carl Brenner. Strother -- Ralph L. Strother, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Tuesday, November 16, 1999. Born in California, MO, he was the son of Maggie E. and Edgar Strother. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth Balfour Strother of Albuquerque; son, Robin D. Strother and wife, Nancy of Farmington; daughters, Kathy L. Steele and husband, Robert of Colorado and Gail J. Cramer and husband, David; granddaughter, Tracy D. Strother; grandsons, Matthew and Marcus Cramer, all of Farmington and Robert and Enoch Steele of Colorado; and sisters, Emma Stockard of Jefferson City, MO and Virginia Koerhrmann of Alton, IL and Dale Williams of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Shane Strother. During World War II he served in the United States Army in the Aleutian Islands. He came to New Mexico to attend the University of New Mexico, receiving both a B.S. and a Masters degree. He was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers until retirement in 1976. Mr. Strother was a Registered New Mexico Professional Engineer. He attended Highland Baptist Church and was an avid tennis player. Watson -- Severn H."Bud" Watson,"the Tile Maker", a resident of the Pojoaque valley area for 35 years, died Wednesday, November 17, 1999, after a lengthy battle with emphysema. Watson was born October 13, 1933 in Mineral Wells, Texas, a third generation tile maker. He founded Tiles de Santa Fe, in Cuyamungue in 1971. He was highly regarded for his knowledge and expertise and in all areas of the tile business. He continued, until his death, to be a constant resource of inspiration for his family and a continuing source of knowledge for community members involved in the making and setting of ceramic and clay tile, as well as firing and glazing. He loved working with his hands and even after his retirement he continued to be known and respected for his hand crafted artistic products. After his retirement, Watson was passionate about traveling and gardening until his illness intervened. His wife, Gene Watson, of 48 years, survives him along with their seven children; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Zavadil -- "Elizabeth (Lee) Zavadil, nee Vanek, 93, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully at home on November 3, 1999. A devoted sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Albert; and her two children, Joseph and Constance.
