Allen -- Helen Shafer Allen, a resident at the Montebello in Albuquerque since 1987, died Saturday, November 13, 1999. She is survived by her daughters, Ann Allen of Devon, England and Janet Allen Parker and husband, Bruce of Albuquerque; half-sister, Eleanor Shafer Young and husband, Jacques of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Andrew Parker and wife, Kathleen, and Thomas Parker and wife, Lynn, all of Denver, CO; great-grandchildren, Caroline Parker, Andrew L. Parker and William Parker; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two brothers; and granddaughter, Nancy Parker. Born in Bluffton, IN on November 24, 1901, the daughter of Otis and Ida Shafer, Mrs. Allen was educated in Bluffton schools, and in 1924, was graduated from De Pauw University, Greencastle, IN, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She subsequently worked in Indianapolis as a bacteriologist for Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals, and in 1926, married Howard Allen, later moving to Bedford, IN with him, where he practiced obstetrics until his death in 1966. In Bedford, she was an active member of The First Methodist Church, Tri Kappa, and the Ladies of the Round Table. Friends may visit Day and Carter Funeral Home, 1133 Lincoln Avenue, Bedford, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 20. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Cresthaven Cemetery. Barreras -- Dorothy S. Barreras, 77 years old, and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 1999. Dorothy was born June 14, 1922, to Aurelia B. Sanchez and Uvaldo Sanchez. Her sister, Eulogia Turnbull preceded her in passing. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Jose; her brother, Albert Sanchez and her sister, Frances Scheuring and her husband, Francis; her three sons and their wives, Arthur Garcia and Margaret, Moises Barreras and Diane, and Michael Barreras and ann; her two daughters and their husbands, Lorraine Lynch and Frank and Joyce Vigil and Richard; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy's life was her family and she gave generously of herself to all she loved as a devoted Esposa, Madre, Abuela and Tia. You are in our hearts forever. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 19, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at Fitzgerald and Son, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE. Rudolfo Baca will conduct the memorial service with special remembrances given by two of Dorothy's grandsons, Andres Garcia and Kenneth Barreras. Bridgeman -- Barbara Ann Bridgeman, 46, born in Griffin, GA on October 10, 1953, died Tuesday, November 16, 1999. She was the wife of James Edward Bean and mother of Allison Corinne Bean. Her mother, Dorothy Bridgeman, and brother, Perry Bridgeman and wife, Donna of Charlotte, NC survives her. The family of her husband, Jean Bean, Robin and Randy Howe, Dennis, Shannon, and Kristin also mourns Barbara. Her father, Luther Bridgeman, preceded her in death. Barbara was a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with AGRA Earth and Environmental. She was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers. She was also a registered Professional Engineer in New Mexico and Colorado. Among the highlights of her career was her work on the UMTRA project and her recent work on the"Big I" intersection redesign project at I-25 and I-40 in Albuquerque. Barbara was a graduate of Chatham Hall School of Virginia, Tufts University, and North Carolina State University. She was a resident of Albuquerque and had lived in Manteo, NC, Charlotte, NC, and Denver, CO. Her associates will remember Barbara for her professional integrity. She and her family have been the recipient of many acts of love and kindness by their many friends. Clary -- It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bert Lorraine Clary, 80, a longtime resident of Cochiti Lake, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Clary; her father, Alphonse Wiggins; mother, Opal Wiggins; and step-mother, Sam Ethel Wiggins. At the time of her passing, she was residing in the loving care of Family Ties Residential Home in Albuquerque. Dailey -- Charlotte C. Dailey, 80, a 52 year resident of Albuquerque, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 13, 1999. She was born in Vandergrift, PA to Isaac Phillips and Cora Shearing Phillips and was the seventh of eight children. She married Phillip Dailey, her husband of nearly 57 years. They spent their early years in Los Alamos before moving to Albuquerque. Charlotte was a devoted mother and spouse with a great love for her home and yard. She traveled extensively with her husband in their RV, but especially loved the time spent in New Mexico's Jemez Mountains. She always found time for many activities including volunteer work for the Mended Hearts Association. She is survived by her husband, Phillip Dailey of Albuquerque; daughter, Donna Hammar and her husband, Mike of Halfway, OR; son, David Dailey and wife, Caron of Grove City, PA; brother, Edward Phillips of Leawood, KS; sister, Erma Berry of Harrisburg, PA; and eight grandchildren, Hans Hammar, Ned Hammar, Carla Hammar, Luke Hammar, Krystal Vasiakin, Julia Dailey, Trevor Dailey, and Brianna Dailey. Farley -- Michael Thomas Farley, 2, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, November 16, 1999. Gabaldon -- Zeke Gabaldon, age 61, passed away Monday, November 15, from complications related to Beryllium lung disease in Anaheim, California, where he resided for 40 years. Born in Albuquerque, November 28, 1937, Zeke later joined the Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Hornet for three years from 1956-58. A machinist employee of Boeing North American, Zeke is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Steven and Paul; and three grandchildren, Erik, Taylor and Traci. He is also survived by his sisters, Helen Gray of Elephant Butte and Gloria Cordova and Melinda Gabaldon of Albuquerque; as well as one brother, Gilbert Gabaldon; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Hare -- James Charles Hare "JC" passed away Tuesday, November 16, 1999 at UNMH from an extended illness. He was born in Albuquerque on May 14, 1986. He is survived by his parents, James L. Hare and Terry Hare of Moriarty, formally of Logan; his two brothers, Justin and Brandon Hare of the home; grandparents, Wanda and Charles Miller of Raton and Charlsie Hare of Albuquerque; great-grandparents, WH"Bill" and Pearl Miller and Carrie Price, all of Raton and Mary Wilson of Albuquerque; aunt, Cindy Simms of Las Cruces and aunt, Penny and uncle, Leonard Lopez of Raton; cousins, Sarah and Kevin Simms of Las Cruces and Jamie and Ashley Lopez of Raton; and numerous great-aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. In August, the"Make A Wish Foundation of NM" granted JC his wish for a Quarter Horse. Chy'a Johnston and family presented Hobo Doc to JC during the"Expo 99" at the New Mexico State Fair Grounds. Numerous other gifts, a new saddle, bridle, blanket, coat, ropes, feed, vet care, and many other items were also given. He had spent many hours with trainer and best friend, Jim Shaw riding along the Rio Grande River. JC and Jim were very much at peace on their horses. Harlan -- Gregory James Harlan, a resident of Albuquerque, was born July 7, 1946, at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, the third child of Mr. Sessions C. Harlan Sr. and the late Mrs. Annie Dell Harlan. Greg passed away after a short illness at the age of 53 on Sunday, November 14, 1999 at the Lovelace Medical Hospital. Greg was a Veteran of the United States Navy, a retired City of Albuquerque bus driver, and a faithful member of The New Hope Missionary Baptist church since 1975. His membership with New Hope included his services on the Usher Board, a member of the Male Chorus, coach for both Male Basketball and Softball Teams, and was actively involved with the New Hope Women's Softball Team. Going Home..... Even while sick, Greg showed remarkable strength and courage. Because of his faith in the Lord, he carried the burden of his illness with dignity. He will be remembered for his Christian example, his good-hearted talkative nature, his kindness, and his sense of humor that touched so many lives. Greg was loved and will be missed by more friends and family than he, in his short life, could have realized. Greg will continue and will always be apart of our lives in spirit, in our hearts, and through our special memories of him that can never be taken away from us. He is survived by his wife, Sharon O. (Pat) Harlan; four children, Brian, Dera, Dante, Greta; six grandchildren; his father, Sessions C. Harlan Sr.; one sister, Paula R. Burgess; two brothers, Darrell T. Harlan and Sessions Harlan Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Huff -- George Thomas (Thom Kat) Huff Jr., age 45, a resident of Albuquerque for 44 years, died Monday, November 15, 1999. Ligon -- Ruby Ligon, 93, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, November 16, 1999. She is survived by her nephew, James Robinson and wife, Jimmie of Albuquerque; nieces, Faye Harmon and Sadie Moore, both of San Bernadino, CA; sisters, Loretta Stewart of Parson, KS and Willa Price of Topeka, KS; and many more nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ligon was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Albert Ligon in 1989. She was a member of Grant Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she was an active usher and served on the missionary board. Mrs. Ligon was a member of Eureka Matron Federation Club and the Eastern Star. She worked at the Veteran's Hospital for 13 years. Lujan -- Lourdes M. Lujan, 92, was called home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 16, 1999. She is survived by one sister, Ethel Ziegler of California; two Goddaughters, Dolores Garcia of California and Joyce Cervantes of Albuquerque; nieces and nephews, Etta Allan, Maria Lawhorn, Lucille Rivera, Katerina C de Vaca, Ruth Wagner, Juliette and Leroy Duran, Robert and Sandy Lujan, Ernest and Stellan Lujan, Bobby and Mary Wagner, Leo C de Vaca Jr., Tiney C de Vaca, Eva and Donald C de Vaca. Mcpherson -- Sam McPherson, 87, passed away Sunday, November 14, 1999. He was a resident of Albuquerque for the past 78 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen Mead McPherson; son, Michael McPherson and his wife, Mary Ann of Hingham, MA; sister-in-law, Francis Mead of Albuquerque; niece, Shirley Troy of Albuquerque; great-nephews, Jim, Ed and John Troy of Huntsville, AL; cousin, Frances Neufeld and husband, Hal of Albuquerque. He attended the University of New Mexico, was a president of the 20/ 30 Club of Albuquerque, and was the Manager of Contractors Equipment and Supply Company for more than 30 years. Mehlberg -- Margaret E. Mehlberg, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1988, died Tuesday, November 16, 1999. She is survived by her sons, Charles E. Mehlberg and wife, Doris of Duluth, MN and James C. Mehlberg and wife, Alice of Albuquerque; and grandchildren, Alicia and Aaron and his wife, Kelly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Mehlberg in 1987. Margaret was born on March 20, 1908, the daughter of James and Rose Armstrong, and granddaughter of pioneer residents, Gottlieb and Margaret Hartman of Houghton, MI. She graduated from Houghton High School in 1925 and Drake University, Des Moines, IA in 1929. Margaret taught in the Goldfield, Iowa, Chassell and Portage Township Schools. She married Carl Mehlberg on December 29, 1938. Margaret had been a member of Houghton Chapter Eastern Star since 1926 and a past organist. She was a charter member of Trillium Chapter Eastern Star. Margaret was also a member of Delta Sigma Epsilon Sorority, a charter member of the Houghton High School Alumni Association, and a past president of Judson E. Ingram Post American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the Portage Lake United Church, where she was involved in the Bothner Circle. Interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton, MI. Stanton -- Agnes Stanton, 83, died Sunday, November 14, 1999. Mrs. Stanton was born in Sheridan, WY and was a resident of Albuquerque since 1956. She is survived by her husband, Willis of the family home; son, Alan Stanton and wife, Doreen of Santa Fe; daughter-in-law, Laurie Stanton of Albuquerque; and grandchildren, Carrie and Elena Stanton of Albuquerque, and Brian and Christina Stanton of Santa Fe. She is also survived by her nephews, Michael Hotchkiss of Bloomfield, NM, Phillip Hotchkiss of Gillette, WY and Warren Stevenson of Buffalo, WY; nieces, Lanice Smith of Buffalo, WY, Barbara Hotchkiss of Buckskin, MT. She was preceded in death by her son, Jay Stanton; two brothers; and one sister. Mrs. Stanton was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, and was active in Dorcas Circle and the Jolly Elders. Mrs. Stanton was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Strother -- Ralph L. Strother, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Tuesday, November 16, 1999. Born in California, MO, he was the son of Maggie E. and Edgar Strother. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth Balfour Strother of Albuquerque; son, Robin D. Strother and wife, Nancy of Farmington; daughters, Kathy L. Steele and husband, Robert of Colorado and Gail J. Cramer and husband, David; granddaughter, Tracy D. Strother; grandsons, Matthew and Marcus Cramer, all of Farmington and Robert and Enoch Steele of Colorado; and sisters, Emma Stockard of Jefferson City, MO and Virginia Koerhrmann of Alton, IL and Dale Williams of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Shane Strother. During World War II he served in the United States Army in the Aleutian Islands. He came to New Mexico to attend the University of New Mexico, receiving both a B.S. and a Masters degree. He was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers until retirement in 1976. Mr. Strother was a Registered New Mexico Professional Engineer. He attended Highland Baptist Church and was an avid tennis player. Services will be held Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Highland Baptist Church, 417 Palomas Dr. SE, with Pastor Winfred Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Vaughan -- William"Bill" H. Vaughan, 74, a resident of Belen, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 1999. He was a member of the Methodist Church and life member of the VFW, DAV, and National Trappers Association. Bill enlisted in the United States Navy in 1943. He was promoted through ranks and commissioned in 1957, proudly serving his country for 26 years. Bill was an avid bowler and archer, and active in many sports while in the Navy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Qurida M. Vaughan in 1996; his father, William in 1963; his mother, Evelyn in 1990. He is survived by his two children, William S. Vaughan and wife, Marna S. of San Marcos, CA and Evelyn R. Hahn and fiancee, Tony Chiovari of Pinewood Springs, CO. Zavadil -- "Elizabeth (Lee) Zavadil, nee Vanek, 93, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully at home on November 3, 1999. A devoted sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Albert; and her two children, Joseph and Constance. She is survived by her brother, Ollie Vanek; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Zavadil; her nephews, Bob Zavadil, Dennis Zavadil, Ben Vanek, and Melvin Vanek; her nieces, Sister Anthony Marie Kasper, S.S.N.D., Virginia Mika, and Joyce Vanek-Nielsen; her grandchildren, Mary Gutierrez, Joseph Zavadil, Peter Zavadil, John Zavadil, Thomas Zavadil, and Elizabeth Zavadil-Davis; and her great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Joseph, and Elena Gutierrez.
