Grebe -- Donna Evans Grebe, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 14 years, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 1999. Donna was born February 23, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah E. Shelton Evans in Salt Lake City, Utah. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, James Richard Grebe on August 13, 1996. She is survived by her son, James Robert Grebe and wife, Carol of Fullerton, CA; daughters, Jolene Manning of Rio Rancho, and Jae Templeton and husband, Scott of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Rachael Manning, Carlton and Breck Grebe and Travis and Alexis Templeton. Our Mom was devoted to her family and was a loving wife to our father before his death. Our parents were always close to our hearts. We were a very compatible and close knit family. Sharing the laughter and the tears, the good times and the bad. They were exemplary parents who we were very proud of, who stuck by us, and finally people we loved very much. The loss of both will remain with us for a very long time, if not forever. But if any good can come from losing ones parents, it is the comfort that both have been united in the Kingdom of God. To the many friends and family members who have supported and stuck with us during both of their illnesses. For lack of a better word, Thank you. Your support made things a little bit easier to bear. They will truly be missed by all of us and will never be forgotten. Jim, Jolene, and Jae. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 1999, 11:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1100 Montano Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM. Zolman -- "Jim" James Michael Zolman, born February 16, 1954 in Albuquerque, passed away on October 11, 1999 at the age of 45. Twenty-seven years professional Rodeo Cowboy Association steer wrestler, Jim Zolman, broke the barrier one last time at St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver shortly after 5:00 p.m., Monday, October 11, 1999. Jim underwent knee surgery Wednesday, October 6th and lost consciousness early Thursday morning due to complications. He was placed on life support shortly after and was finally taken off on Monday the 11th. Those who knew Jim during this 30 plus year rodeo career watched him compete at a string of Little Britches, New Mexico Junior Rodeo, High School, and PRCA Rodeos. The Little Britches Rodeo Association honored Jim by establishing the"Jim Zolman Sportsmanship Award." While a national title eluded him in his journey, Jim captured the 1972 New Mexico High School Bulldogging Championship and then preceded to become a force on the professional circuit. Competing in rodeos from Madison Square Gardens in New York City to San Francisco's Cow Palace, he etched his name in the winner's circle at the Pendleton Round-up, the San Antonio Livestock Show, claimed the 1980 PRCA Turquoise Circuit Steerwrestling Title and was a familiar face at the pay window at many other rodeos across the nation. Jim's focus on life was to live each moment to the fullest and during his time here he touched and was touched by many, many friends. While it seems that he was taken early, he would say he had a great ride and would not have changed a minute of it. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Kathe; one daughter, Mandi Lane; two step-children, Heather and James; and granddaughters, Katherine and Caroline who called him"Taco"; brother, Ted; sisters, Loretta, Carol and Georgia; and hundreds of relatives and friends who will miss him, but are very thankful for the time that they were able to spend with him. Services will be held at Strong-Thorne Funeral Home in Albuquerque on Friday, the 15th of October. Viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with services at 2:00 p.m. Reception tentatively will follow at Bosque Farms Rodeo Arena. In lieu of flowers, Kathe suggests donations be made to the"Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund."
