Allen -- Irene L. Allen, 62, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, September 4, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Fred Allen Jr. of the family home; daughters, Doris Romero and husband, James, Terry Baca and husband, Lawrence, Stephanie Padilla and husband, Martin, all of Albuquerque; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Marion Fodge and Frankie Sue Del Papa. Rosary will be recited Monday, 7:00 p.m., at St. Edwin Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona Road SW. Angelos -- 1955-1999 Nikie Angelos, 43, of Rio Communities, died on Friday, September 3, at her home. Nikie was preceded in death by her father, Louis Angelos of Roswell. She is survived by her mother, Pat; her sister, Kristy Groves; and her two brothers, Lou and Jim Angelos, all of Roswell. She is also survived by her husband of ten years, Dennis Coberly; and her four children, Christopher Sisneros, 19, Shiloh Sisneros, 17, Patrick Sisneros, 16, and Myriah Coberly, 12. She is also survived by her step-children, L.C., Troy and Spring Coberly. The family requests donations be made to the Shriner's Cripples Children's Fund in lieu of flowers. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 6, at Riverside Funeral Home in Belen. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 7, at Riverside with Fred Kerns officiating.

Benyak -- Michael D. (Ben) Benyak, 81, passed on peacefully Thursday, September 2, 1999 at the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque. He is survived by his special wife of 52 years, Maria of the family home; children, Diane and David of Albuquerque, Daniel and wife, Susan; grandchildren, Neal and Joe of Seattle, WA; brother, Al and wife, Helen of Flushing, NY; sisters, Rosemary and husband, Robert Betza and Agnes and husband, Steve Mahalko of Monessen, PA; and many nieces and nephews. Ben was born November 3, 1917 and raised in Monessen, PA. He joined the Army/Air Corps in Fort Mead, MD and served from 1934 to 1937. During WWII he was stationed at the Canal Zone in Panama. He married Maria Dankanich on June 1, 1947. His tours in the Army took him to Hawaii (Tripler Army Hospital) 1948-52, West Point Military Academy 1952-56, Frankfurt, Germany 1956-60, Walter Reed Army Hospital 1960-63, and Sandia Base 1963-68, where he retired and settled after a 26 year military career. Dad was proudest of seeing Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth hit homeruns at Pittsburgh's Forbes Field in the late 20s. He also worked with Vince Lombardi and Bobby Knight during their early Army careers at West Point, NY. He was a member of the American Legion Post 99, Catholic Sokols and The Coronado Club. Dad, you will be missed and thank you for everything. Services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Place NE, with Father Luis Jaramillo, Celebrant, and Deacon Rue W. White. Berger -- Belva Elizabeth Berger, born May 22, 1914. Married to Ervin R. Berger for 57 years. Belva was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Ervin R. Berger; son, Richard K. Jackson, son and daughter-in-law, Ervin R. Berger Jr. and Marilyn; daughter and son-in-law, Ann Haltom and Bill; grandchildren, Kathleen Harris and husband, Jeff, Terri Jackson, Robb Haltom, Steven and Wesley Berger; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Davey and Melanie DeLorenzo, Zachary Geiger, Brandon and Bridget Haltom, Michael and Julie Harris; and faithful caregiver, Elvira Gross. Fribley -- Mrs. Mary Fribley 09-23-2408-19-99ON AUGUST 19, 1999, AFTER AN ILLNESS, MRS. MARY FRIBLEY, WIDOW OF WILLIAM G. FRIBLEY, DIED OF CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE. MR. AND MRS. FRIBLEY LIVED IN ALBUQUERQUE FOR 43 YEARS. MR. FRIBLEY WAS RETIRED FROM SANDIA LABS AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH IN 1992. MRS. Harrison -- Camilla Teresa Pargas Harrison, 48, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, September 4, 1999. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Duane Harrison; daughter, Teresa Harrison of Albuquerque; son, Sean Harrison of Santa Fe; brothers, Jimmy Valespino and wife, Virginia of Deming, Ben Pargas and wife, Marilyn, Tony Pargas, Ralph Pargas Jr., Michael Pargas and wife, Patricia, Steve Pargas, and Richard Pargas and wife, Diane, all of Albuquerque; sister, Kathy Keddy and husband, John of Albuquerque; parents, Ralph and Adella Pargas. Camilla was chosen and awarded the Susan G. Komen Foundation Local Hero of the Year award. She was actively involved with the group People Living Through Cancer. Camilla received medical retirement from USWest Communications. She worked with First Choice and helped with early detection of breast cancer. Services will be held Tuesday, September 7, 1999, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Kessinger -- Frances Dale Kessinger, beloved mother of Claire Kessinger-Mathey, Christina Kessinger and Peter Kessinger, passed away on September 3, 1999 after a valiant battle with cancer. After retiring in 1992 from an award-winning career as a teacher of the gifted at Highland High School, she served as a docent at the Center for the Book at the Special Collections Library, as well as pursuing her talent as a writer of children's books and poetry. Dale's generous and loving presence will be dearly missed by her family and many devoted friends. May she rest in peace. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2:00 p.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE, Albuquerque. Marino -- George Marino, age 71, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Rosina (Rose) Marino of Albuquerque; one son, Richard P. Marino and wife, Judy of Albuquerque; three sisters, Dulcina Sanchez of Belen, Tillie Barela and husband, Benjamin of Flagstaff, AZ, Elsie Ulibarri and husband, Herman of Flagstaff AZ; one brother, Eddie Marino of St. John's, AZ; five grandchildren, Stephen Marino, Paul Marino and wife, Norma, Richard McCord, Christopher McCord, and Mikael McCord; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was a resident of Albuquerque for 46 years and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the Optimist Club. Romero -- Mr. Charles Romero, 75, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 4, 1999. Mr. Romero is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mrs. Susie Romero. He is also survived by his daughter, Rose Ann Jaramillo and husband, Andy F.; five sons, Fred Bustos, Charles G. Romero, Maximilliano Romero and wife, Tobylynn, Mark L. Romero and wife, Diann and Chris Romero and fiancee, Yolene; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many cousins and friends. Mr. Romero was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII. Rutz -- Beulah A. Rutz, 84, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 27 years, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 1999. Beulah was born on August 19, 1915, the daughter of Willis and Grace Rockhill Simons in North Bangor, New York. She had worked for a pharmaceutical company before she retired. Beulah is survived by her husband, Alfred of Rio Rancho; five children, Carol Allen of Flora Park, NJ, Ellen Decker of Laughlin, NV, John Rutz of Green Valley, AZ, Willis Rutz of Tobyhanna, PA and Wayne Rutz of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Dorinth Fleury of Malone, NY; 13 grandchildren, Daren, David, Kristen, Greg, Tracy, Bridget, Sara, Keith, Eric, Adam, Jamie, Kim and Brandon; two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Jordon. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 1999, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a service by the American Legion Auxiliary at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. A cryptside service will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 1999, 11:00 a.m., at Vista Verde Memorial Park. Vermillion -- Arvesta K. Vermillion, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Saturday, September 4, 1999. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ivan W. Vermillion of the family home; daughter-in-law, Ruth Vermillion; grandsons, Roy Vermillion of Ruckersville, VA, and Jack Vermillion and wife, Nancy of Albuquerque; two great-grandsons, Brandon and Jordon Vermillion; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, James (Jim) Vermillion; parents, Elmer and Mary Keller; five brothers; and five sisters. Mrs. Vermillion was born on January 1, 1912 to Elmer and Mary Keller. She married Ivan W. Vermillion, December 27, 1930 in Toledo, IL. She was a Department Manager at Sears until her retirement in 1977. Mrs. Vermillion was a member of the Extension Club in Toledo, IL and also in Albuquerque. She was a member of Sandia Baptist Church. Services will be held Tuesday, September 7, 1999, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, with Dr. Robert Butler officiating.
