Arnold -- Nancy Arnold, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1987, passed away at home on Saturday, June 5, 1999."For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2nd. Tim) In 1996, Mrs. Arnold was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John H. Arnold She is survived by their children, Andrea Anderson and husband, James of Los Alamos, John E. Arnold and wife, Belinda of Aurora, CO, and Jane Montoya and husband, Chris of Bernalillo. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Matthew and Lora Anderson, Meghan and Brian Montoya, and Chris and Jesse Stewart; a sister, Kathleen Price and husband, Allan of Dickinson, ND; a brother, John R. Ferguson and wife, Edith of Austin, TX; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 10:00 a.m., at Acantilado Vista, (920 Riverview Dr., in Rio Rancho). Interment will take place on Friday, June 11, 9:00 a.m., at Vista Verde Memorial Park. Another memorial service will be held in Greeley, CO on Sunday, June 13. Benavidez -- Albita Benavidez, 80, beloved and devoted mother and grandmother, was called home to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 5, 1999. She was a lifelong resident of New Mexico; a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mrs. Benavidez was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Benavidez. She is survived by one daughter, Norina Rey and husband, Luis; two sons, Louie Benavidez and wife, Virginia, Marty Benavidez and wife, Rebecca; eight grandchildren, Nadine Schlamp, Cesar Rey, Katrina Yerbich, Martin E. Benavidez, Adam Benavidez, Bianca Benavidez, Martin Benavidez and Deanna Benavidez; and seven great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, 1:00 p.m., at Sacred Heart Church, with the Reverend James Moore, as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Benham -- Walter Lee Benham, 83, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, died Sunday, June 6, 1999. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Jean Choate; grandson, Guy Stewart, both of Salem, OR; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Florence Benham; niece, Mary Joan Windes and husband, Tom and family; and nephew, Robert Benham and wife, Susan and family, all of Albuquerque. Walter was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Rita Mensio Benham. He grew up in Gallup, graduating from Gallup High School in 1934. Walter served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, then returned to Gallup and began working for the Gallup Independent Newspaper. In 1946, he moved to Albuquerque to work for the Albuquerque Tribune and worked there until his retirement in 1981. Walter was a member of the B.P.O.E. He enjoyed golf and bowling. Walter also played the saxophone and other instruments throughout his life, most recently playing with the Palo Duro Senior Center Band. Services will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Clyde Stanfield officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Robert A. Benham, Alan Benham, Thomas Windes, Connor Windes, Carl Williams and Don Williams. Brooks -- Lorena A. Brooks, born January 3, 1899 in a dugout in Knox County, Texas, died June 6, 1999 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Della Bell; all of her siblings; daughter, Karleen Jewell; and grandsons, Kelly Brooks and Mark Brooks. Survived by her children, Donald (Grace) Brooks, Elaine Fleming, Glen (Mary) Brooks, all of Albuquerque. Grandchildren, Marilyn Jelosek, Sharon Harvell, Mike Fleming, Sharon Sandoval, Linda Williams, Doug Brooks, Michael Reilly Brooks, Margie Molina, Kristi Lane, and special step-grandson, Robert Hanna. Many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces; nephews; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Bell and Helen Bell. Many, many friends. Lorena lived a full and busy life. Raised in her beloved Texas, she made New Mexico home for approximately the last 65 years. She enjoyed sharing her many memories of homesteading in Rifle, Colorado after World War I with her husband, Examander, the first"ironhorse," traveling as a little girl in a covered wagon and many, many more. She celebrated her 100th birthday earlier this year with a party attended by more than 100 friends and family. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 9, 1999 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Cannon -- Malcolm O. Cannon, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1923, died Saturday, June 5, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Cannon of the family home; daughter, Judy Mae Wright and OZ Swindoll of Pasadena, TX; granddaughters, Sheryl Oldfield and husband, David of Truth or Consequences, and Charlotte Worthen and husband, Dee of Grants; grandson, Ricky Wright and Grace Chase of Albuquerque; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; half-sister, Daphne Heistand; and step-sister, Rudy Cook. Malcolm worked for Greyhound Bus Company for ten years. He owned and operated Mountain States Control Company for many years, and also ranched for a number of years. Chiuminatto -- Angela Chiuminatto passed away May 30, 1999, at the age of 106. She was born in Butte, Montana in the year 1882. Her husband, John; and son, William, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Joseph and wife, Phyllis of Albuquerque. Also surviving are her grandson, Gary and wife, Melisse of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Carol Berry and husband, Richard of Georgetown, TX, and granddaughter, Candice Rains and husband, Dr. Charles Rains of Clinton, SC. Her great-grandchildren are Tiffany, John and Christopher Chiuminatto, Stephen, Suzanne and Annette Berry and Jennifer and Christopher Rains. She is also survived by three great-great-granddaughters, Madison Steward and twins, Kenley and Angela Berry. Also surviving are nieces, Cecelia Cromrich, Elsie Murphy and Minnie Hillen of Butte, Montana and Elizabeth Dalton of Kirkland, WA. Services and burial will be in Butte, Montana. Cicchetti -- Mario M."Chick" Cicchetti God gathered Chick into His arms and took him home on May 27, 1999. He was born in New York City, June 28, 1915, to Vicente and Loraine Taluse Cicchetti. He served his country proudly in WWII as a tank gunner in the 103rd Division of the 3rd Army, under General George Patton. He saw five major battles, including Normandy and the Liberation of Buchenwald. He earned the European Theatre Medal with five silver stars and the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle. After being discharged, he was a fireman for a short time in New York City before moving to El Paso, Texas, where he became a policeman and served his community in the capacity for 25 years. He moved to Albuquerque in March, 1993. He was a member of Blinded Veterans Association and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by three sons, Farrell and his wife, Sandy, Glen and his wife, Michele of El Paso, TX, and Dale of Dallas, TX; two daughters, Billie Carmody of T or C, NM, and Tammi and her husband, Jim Dolinger of California. Also eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Marie Wladika of Albuquerque. Chick's family and friends know that he has at last found peace in the loving arms of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. God is all loving. He forgives everything and everyone. Interment has taken place at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso, TX.

Cordova -- Nick Abod Cordova Sr., 67, a lifelong resident of Jarales, passed away on June 6, 1999 as a result of an auto accident. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Nick was a retired rancher, farmer, and was very well known throughout Valencia and surrounding counties. He previously worked for his father at the Jarales Roller Mills and in Albuquerque, ACF (American Car Foundry) and Whitfield Transportation. From 1974 to 1976 Nick and Sally Cordova were Mayordomos of San Francisco Xavier Mission in Jarales. Through their efforts $24,000 was collected for the new building and Nick sought out friends, relatives and neighbors to do labor on the building. With all the donated labor of love for their mission, $1,000 was left over from purchasing all the materials. Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Arturo and Viviana Sanchez Cordova; brother, Michael Dean Cordova in 1995; his grandparents, Jose Dolores and Josefa Lopez Cordova; great-grandparents, Don Fransico and Francisquita Ulibarri Cordova of Tome, and from prominent Sanchez family, early Spanish settlers of Jarales. Nick is survived by his beloved wife, Sally Cordova; his loving children, Susan Cordova, Sharon Harrell and her husband, Tom, Nick Cordova Jr., Shirley Baca and her husband, Anthony, Geraldine Cordova, Mary Cordova, Jeanette Romero and her husband, Russell, Richard Cordova and his wife, Wendy. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, Dawn Lee (Barks) Baca, Andrea Baca, Jessica Baca, Joshua Nick Cordova, Christopher Gutierrez, Crystal, Justin, and Jordan Cordova, Matthew Harrell, Rebecca and Elena Cordova; and one great-grandson, Jacob Bryan Baca. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Angie Clark, Frank and his wife, Lila, Raoul and his wife, Dolores, Ruth C. Padilla and her husband, Sosimo, Edna Otero and her husband, Avilio, Arthur Jr., David and his wife, Angelina, Jose (J.D.) and his wife, Vivian, Virginia Gomez and her husband, Alfonso; sisters-in-law, Tommy, Gloria, and Diane Cordova. His many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive Nick. Rosary will be held on Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Haines -- Dorrey Lee Haines, a resident of San Gabriel Manor, in Albuquerque, passed away at the age of 80. Mrs. Haines was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Lee E. Haines, in 1991. She is survived by her daughter, Dorrey Lee West of Albuquerque; and her son, Lee E. Haines Jr. and wife, Thais D. Haines of Placitas, NM. Mrs. Haines is survived by five grandchildren, Amanda Lee West of Albuquerque, Stephen Lee Haines of San Diego, CA, Lorraine Michelle Raznik of San Diego, CA, Thomas G. Duffey of Lancaster, CA, and Paige E. Duffey of Escondido, CA; great-grandchildren are Brianne A. Raznik and Chloe S. Raznik of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Dr. Benjamin H. Haines and wife, Julia of Las Cruces, NM; and cousin-in-law, Rita Wolters of Corrales, NM; one niece, Bili Kay Chatham of Scottsdale, AZ; four nephews, Benjamin H. Haines Jr. of Las Cruces, NM, Edward M. Haines of Las Cruces, NM, Brian D. Haines of Las Cruces, NM and Brandon H. Haines of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, NM. Dorrey was born in Hayden, AZ, May 19, 1919. She grew up in San Angelo, TX on a sheep ranch with her brother, step-father, Joe Skinner, and her mother. She graduated from Hockaday Girls' School in Dallas, TX. Dorrey got her pilot's license at the age of 20, and flew from their sheep ranch in San Angelo, to their ranch in Trinidad, CO, to the wool market in Albuquerque. Dorrey was an active member in the Albuquerque Junior League, and of the Presbyterian Women's Auxiliary. She was an avid and accomplished golfer, a charter member at Four Hills Country Club, and of the Four Hills Women's Golf Association. She had many dear friends she loved to play golf with. She loved competition, and won and finished well in many tournaments. She had a hole in one for her record. Dorrey was a gracious hostess, and loved to have parties; some lasting all night. She and her husband, Lee, would fix huevos rancheros for everyone. She loved to dance. Many thanks to Jan Gossett and her staff at San Gabriel Manor for the excellent care and love they gave to our mom. Herrera -- Diane Lynn Herrera, 43, a longtime resident of Albuquerque and a native of Cochiti Pueblo, went"Home to be with Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior", on Friday, May 28, 1999. She is survived by her devoted companion and common-law husband, Arnold Torres and their son, Christopher of Albuquerque; sisters, Lorraine Herrera Montoya of Albuquerque and Evelyn Herrea of Cochiti Pueblo; brother, Jerry Herrera of Arizona; and many relatives in Cochiti Pueblo and Albuquerque. On Saturday, May 29, preparation and visitation were held at the home of her Christian Godparents, Dennis and Mary Anderson of Cochiti Pueblo. Christian church service was held at Cochiti Pueblo at St. Bonaventura Church, and Cochiti Pueblo officials conducted the funeral and burial to the Cochiti Pueblo Cemetery. Memorial and reception followed at the Anderson home. On Thursday, June 3, an early morning memorial service was held by Sandia Hospice at Roosevelt Park. The family expresses their heart-felt gratitude for their loving care and support; to the staff and caregivers of PHS, UNM CRTC, St. Joseph Hospital and Sandia Hospice; to Cochiti Pueblo; to relatives, and to friends. Keller -- Herbert T. Keller, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, died at his home Saturday, June 5, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen of the family home; daughters, Edith L. Kane of Albuquerque, and Sheila McGee and husband, Michael of Houston, TX; sons, Michael T. Keller and wife, Marilyn of Dallas, TX, and Robert J. Langley -- Tommie Joyce Pharr Langley, 44, died peacefully at her home following a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, John; and her son, Michael of Tijeras; her parents, Joyce and Nyland Pharr of Kingsville, TX; her sisters, Glenda and Beth; her brother, Russell; and numerous other friends and relatives who will miss her. Misbach -- Richard C. Misbach, 62, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 1999. Richard was born March 5, 1937, the son of Charles Misbach and Ruth Baker in Queens, New York. Richard had been a long standing employee of the CON Edison of New York, and an employee of the City of Albuquerque. Richard had also served in the US Air Force. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #221. Richard is survived by his wife, Beverly of Rio Rancho; children, Richard T. Misbach and wife, Shari, Lori Misbach of Las Vegas, NV, Cheryl Cobb and husband, Jonny of Las Vegas, NV; step-children, Debra Johnson, Becky Ayer, Michael Marks, Anthony Marks and grandchildren, Jami, Bryan, Chad, Benjamin, and Heather; and many friends. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 9, 1999, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with the service on Thursday, June 10, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary with Pastor Robert Hall officiating. Mueller -- LANCE LEE MUELLER November 3, 1949 - June 1, 1999 Lance Lee Mueller, 49, passed away unexpectedly on June 1, 1999 in St. Thomas USVI, as a result of complications from a diving accident suffered on May 7, 1999. Lance, born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, had been a resident of Seattle, Washington for the past 25 years. He spent his career in facility management, 22 years at Group Health Cooperative, and most recently with Trammell Crow Healthcare Services. Lance is survived by his wife, Susan Elliott; son, Luke Mueller; and daughter, Robyn Mueller of Seattle, WA; his mother, Charlotte Riesch; and his two sisters, Marcia Nennig and Marilyn Zemke of Germantown, WS; his father- and mother-in-law, George and Beth Elliott of Albuquerque; and a host of friends and co-workers. Reilly -- Max Fernando Reilly, 11, died Sunday, June 6, peacefully at home after a long illness. Born February 18, 1988 in Medellin, Columbia, Max is deeply mourned by his mother, Rosalie Rayburn Reilly; brother, Patrick Reilly; father, Michael Reilly; grandparents, Frank and Eileen Reilly of South Carolina; aunts, uncles, and cousins; his friends, Jo and Alex Santiago; his classmates and teachers at Arroyo del Oso Elementary; and all those who cared for him in his illness. Throughout his short life, Max's warm smile brought joy and gladness to his many friends all over the world, both young and old. At school he was often honored for the kindness he showed to others. After travels in many countries his family settled in Albuquerque in 1996. He love inline skating and played on the Coyotes roller hockey team. We are the richer for knowing him. Roberts -- Preston Roberts Sr., 89, a longtime resident of Los Lunas, passed away in the early morning hours of June 6th. He is survived by his brother, John Roberts and sons; children, Ronald Roberts and wife, Carolyn, Preslene Lewallen and husband, Spencer, Kardie Whenley, Preston Roberts Jr. and wife, Julie, and Tara Roberts; grandchildren, Crystal Blea, Kristy and Kelley Lewallen and Brian Soloman. Preston was born on the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma in 1907 and grew up on the family cotton farm. During World War II he worked as a foreman for Douglas Aircraft. Mr. Roberts and his wife, Jeanne moved to New Mexico in 1952. For more than 30 years he and his sons operated Roberts Conoco and Feed Store near Los Lunas. Mr. Roberts was known for helping stranded families get their cars repaired of fueled. He would take them to local restaurants with orders to make sure they had all they wanted to eat. He was also generous at extending credit to local families. He was rarely disappointed. Mr. Roberts was always physically active and loved raising registered Appaloosa and Paint horses, enlisting his daughters to assist with various chores on their horse farm. In his retirement, Mr. Roberts enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Graveside services will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9th.
