Ainsworth -- Glenn C. Ainsworth, 77, a former resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, April 30, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris Ainsworth; daughters, Sue Lawrence and husband, Dennis of Albuquerque, Donna Dietrick and husband, Doug of Littleton, CO; six grandchildren, Justin Dietrick, Garrett and Annie Dietrick, Jeff Lawrence, Shari and Robert Crandell; brother, Roy L. Ainsworth and wife, Dorothy of Spokane, WA; sister, Jean Burch of Alamosa, CO; and many other family members and friends. Mr. Ainsworth was a member of Masonic Lodge #32, American Legion and the Model"T" Club all in Saguache, CO. He was a US Army veteran of WWII where he served in five major battles in the European Campaign. Mr. Ainsworth retired in 1977 from Federal service where he made significant contributions to our nation's space program. We will miss him as a very loving husband, father and grandfather. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 3, 1999 at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel with Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Justin Dietrick, Garrett Dietrick, Jeffrey Lawrence, Robert Crandell, Jr., Doug Dietrick and Dennis Lawrence. Apodaca -- Manuel"Manny" Apodaca, 75, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, April 29, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Trinnie; son, Cloves and wife, Patricia; daughter, Isabel and husband, Paul; grandchildren, Patrick, Gerald and wife, Monica, Leonard and wife, Samia and Melanie, all of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Alexander, Manuel and Adrian; and brother, George and wife, Lucy of Albuquerque. Mr. Apodaca served during WWII in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946, receiving a Good Conduct Medal, the Bronze Star and Victory Medal. He was also a partner in ownership of the Bajito Low Rider store for the past 25 years with this son, Cloves. Cremation has taken place and private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Floral gifts may be sent to the home of Manuel and Trinnie Apodaca. Coningham -- S. Brett Coningham, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 28, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Saundra; his sons, S. Bryan Coningham and wife, Julie of Rio Rancho, David B. Coningham and wife, Judy of Los Lunas; and his beloved granddaughter, Zoe Elizabeth. He was proudly employed at Sandia National Labs in Albuquerque for many years. He was an avid amateur radio enthusiast, amateur astronomer, geologist and nature lover with many other and varied interests. His wit and intelligence will be missed by his family and friends. Durham -- Faye L. Durham, 72, passed away in Salem, Oregon on April 15, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Howard"Jim" Durham; her daughter, Cynthia Basye and son-in-law, Jack Basye of Albuquerque; her daughter, Laura Lockwood and son-in-law, Rhodes Lockwood of Aztec; her grandchildren, Jesica Radaelli, Nicole and husband, Jason Romans, Clinton Summers, Carson Basye, and Peter Lockwood; and her great-grandson, Maxwell Radaelli. The Durhams moved from Rigby, Idaho to Albuquerque in 1951. Mrs. Durham was involved in Democrat Party political organizations, bridge clubs, and community help organizations. They retired to McMinnville, Oregon in 1990. Mrs. Durham leaves behind family and many friends who will miss her gracious hospitality, kindness, and wonderful stories. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations could be made to Barrett House, a shelter for women in Albuquerque.

Garcia -- Amelia L. Garcia, age 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, passed away on April 29, 1999. Amelia Garcia is survived by one son, Patricio Garcia and wife, Mary; two daughters, Mary Frances Reza and husband, Henry, Juanita Bercier and husband, Eli; seven grandchildren, Patrick, Vernon, Rose Marie, Kathy, Michael, Craig, and Dwayne; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Rose Ragni; and two brothers, Julio and Eddie Lopez; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Garcia had worked for 30 years with the Phelps Dodge Corporation in Dawson, NM and 20 years with the Federal Government. Before moving to Albuquerque she served as organist and choir director for many years at St. John the Baptist Church in Dawson, NM. She was a member of St. Therese Parish and the Genealogical Society for many years. The Wake Service will be held 7:00 p.m., Sunday, at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery with Michael Garcia, Patrick Reza, Vernon Reza, Dwayne Bercier, Craig Bercier, Vincent Lopez, and Robert Reza serving as casket bearers. Gay -- Herschel Ernest Gay Jr., 70, a resident of Albuquerque for 47 years, died Saturday, April 24, 1999. He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Ennis of Scottsdale, AZ, Valerie L. Bordlemay and husband, Ken of Henderson, NV, and Patti Francis and husband, Michael of Bernalillo; grandchildren, Natalie Peoples of Albuquerque, Megan Bordlemay of Henderson, NV, Rhiannon Francis, Courtney Francis, and Michael Francis Jr., all of Bernalillo; great-grandchildren, Jordan Ratliffe, Abrianna Peoples, and Amajana Peoples, all of Albuquerque; niece, Melanie Barnard and husband, Wilson of Albuquerque; nephew, Michael Worth of Albuquerque; great-nephew, Jason Barnard and wife, Melissa of Houston, TX; great-niece, Brenda Barnard of NMSU; great-great-nephew, Aaron Barnard of Houston, TX; and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, James E. Vleck. Herschel was an Eagle Scout and was a PFC in the USMC during WWII. He also served as chairman in the Young Republican Federation. Herschel worked as a salesman in auto tires. He was a member of the North Valley Lions Club. Gish and wife, Judith of Morro Bay, CA; grandchildren, Mitchell Bowyer, Donna Oakley, Becky Conner, Jim Forrester, Janet Copenhaver, Robin Gish Butzier, Tim Gish and Annabeth Gish; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, RoseAnn Morris and husband, Bill; sisters-in-law, Jimie Wilson and Nancy Cahill; brother-in-law, Earl Gish; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Griffith -- Dr. Charles R. Griffith died March 12, 1999, at Lovelace Hospital. Graveside memorial will be announced at a later date. Dr. Griffith was born June 7, 1927, in Bridgeport, Ohio. He served in the Navy during World War II. He graduated from Ohio State University and obtained a Ph.D. from Harvard University. He was a retired Professor of Anthropology. He is survived by a son, Charles Bowman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a daughter, Gwynn Mathis of Lubbock, Texas; a sister, Sarah Shaw of Bridgeport, Ohio; and four grandchildren. Two wives, Katherine Perry Griffith Bowman, and Rosemary Coward Griffith, preceded him in death.

Harmon -- Mr. James T. Harmon, age 74, died Saturday. He was born in Athens, Tennessee and relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1945. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita C. Harmon, brother, Robert Part Harmon and Willard Thompson, sister, Mildred Harmon. He was a member of the St. Edwin Church. He started the Adobe Acres Association, he was a WWII Veteran deep sea diver and was an active member in his community. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his son, James E. Harmon and wife, Rosie D.; daughters, Kathy Apodaca and husband, Jim, Gloria Schatzinger and husband, Tom and Anita Ortiz and husband, Zachary; sister, Willie Mae Eldreth and husband, Jay; brother, Maynart Ray Harmon (Honey); and a sister-in-law, Joyce Harmon; grandchildren, Alyssa Holmes, Christopher Apodaca, Audra Apodaca, Thomas Schatzinger, Justin Schatzinger, Adam Schatzinger, Jimmy Harmon, Danny Harmon, Lindsay Ortiz and Zachary Ortiz. Henning -- Daphna A. Henning, age 91, a resident of Albuquerque for 55 years, died Friday, April 30, 1999, in a local nursing home. She is survived by three sons, Bob G. Henning and his former wife, Carolyn, Larry D. Henning and wife, Marci, and Jack L. Henning and his wife, Kathy; two grandchildren, Barbara Tedder and Pat Staggs; six great-grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, Jessica, John, Bradley and Ryan. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Henning; four brothers, Roy, Wassa, John and Roscoe; three sisters, Addie, Minnie and Pearl. Mrs. Henning was the Cafeteria Manager at Mountain View Elementary School for over 20 years. She was a starting forward for the 1927 Rocky Ford High School Colorado State Runner-up basketball team. She was very proud of the fact that she had traveled the Oregon Trail by covered wagon. Mrs. Henning was a 4-H leader in the Mountain View area for many years. She also lived and owned property at Bluewater Lake and enjoyed the outdoors. Graveside services will be held Monday, May 3, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery. Kaiser -- William J."Bill" Kaiser, 81, M/SGT USAF, retired, passed away at his home in Albuquerque on April 29, 1999. After cremation, Graveside Services will be held Monday, May 3rd, at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. M/SGT Kaiser was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and DAV. A Veteran of WWII and the conflict in View Nam, he served in the Army and Air Force for 28 years. A native of Columbus, Ohio, he settled in Albuquerque in 1945, retiring here in 1979. He is the son of the late Herbert A. and Anna Kaiser. He is survived by his wife, Norma Kaiser; three daughters, Suzanne Mulloy of Arnold, MD, Margaret Salinas of Albuquerque and Jana Isle of Brainerd, NM; six sons, William Kaiser, Jr. and Herbert Kaiser of Detroit, MI, Robert Kaiser of Cannon Falls, MN, Richard Kaiser, Randy Kaiser and Jeff Kaiser of Albuquerque; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Laub -- Rachel A. Laub passed away Monday, April 26, 1999. She was born in Albuquerque March 13, 1994. Rachel survived her first week of life against the odds, then fought adversity throughout her five years with us. She loved life to the fullest. All those she met, she enriched with her spirit. She will always live in our hearts and now guides us from above. She is survived by her parents, Tom and Julie Laub; her special brother, William Laub; her grandparents, Jo and Bill Laub and Doris and Lonnie Anderson; aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church at 9500 Constitution NE at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2. Mccampbell -- Carroll Beecher McCampbell, beloved husband and father, grandfather and friend, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Monday, April 26, 1999 after a long, full and loving life. Born on the first day of June 1924 in Julesburg, Colorado, he received his engineering degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder. On his first engineering job he surveyed the Sinai Peninsula and discovered huge oil fields there. He joined Sandia National Laboratories in 1949, became a Department Manager and received numerous patents. He distiguished himself in many projects, including lunar module separation systems for the Apollo Moon flights, and nuclear detonation technologies. He retired from Sandia Labs after 33 years. He then became a founder and the President of SCB Technologies where he technically directed the development of a semi-conductor explosive detonator that is targeted for use in mining, air bag and pyrotechnic industries. He retired from SCB in 1995. Carroll was an avid outdoorsman who fished the streams from New Mexico to Montana. He greatly enjoyed his second home on the Yaak River in Montana, and the fabulous friends he made on the tennis courts in recent years. He and his first wife, Martha Ernestine Frehse raised two children, Joan Ellen and Jeffrey Carroll in the East Mountains of Albuquerque. He married New Mexico artist, Doris Steider in May 1972, with whom he spent 27 loving years, and with whom he traveled the globe and pursued their spiritual journey. Carroll was known by his friends as"Mac" and had a cutting intellect, delightful wit, and beautiful piercing blue eyes. He will be loved and missed by his wife, Doris Steider McCampbell; son, Jeff with his wife, Patty; daughter, Joan with her husband, David; step-son, Robert with his wife, Brenda; step-daughter, Kristen with her husband, Gerald; step-son, Timothy with his wife, Amy; 15 grandchildren, Connor, Mallory, Ryan, Justin, Amy, Jenny, Scott, Tami, Kristy, Shanna, Jay, Lindsey, Cameron, Haley and Brandon; and two great-grandchildren, Richie and Quinlan. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to Presbyterian HOSPICE Foundation, who have been so wonderful in our time of need. Montoya -- Fidel A. Montoya, 75, a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother was called home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 1, 1999. Mr. Montoya was born in Magdalena, NM to Felipe and Telesfora Montoya. He was a parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church, a proud veteran of the United States Army who served his country during World War II. He met the love of his life, Carmen Sanchez, whom he married on May 4, 1944. His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carmen Montoya of the family home; three sons, Victor Montoya and wife, Virginia of Arvado, CO, John Mares and wife, Bernadette of Albuquerque and Robbie Romero, also of Albuquerque; four daughters, Debbie Aragon and husband, Lester of Albuquerque, Jeanette Morrison of Dallas, TX, Anita Morrison and Karen Gallegos, both of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are one brother, Bernard Montoya of Mesa, AZ; and one sister, Josephine Ortiz of Albuquerque. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Olson -- Harold Wiliam Olson, Lt. Col. Army Ordinance, Ret., 84, was born to William and Ella Beal Olson on June 25, 1914. He entered into rest on Tuesday, April 27, 1999 in Albuquerque. He proudly served his country from February 13, 1943 until April 30, 1965. He served in England, Hawaii, Germany, Taiwan, and Korea. He was the Army Ordinance advisor to the NM National Guard from 1954 to 1957 and to the Minnesota National Guard from 1960 to 1963. He was a member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church where he was an usher for over 20 years. He was a member and past president of the Albuquerque Chapter of Retired Officers Assoc., Mesa #68 Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of Freemason's Ballut Abyad Shrine, past commander of the Shrine Legion of Honor, past president of Sojourners Chapter #447, past commander of the Hero's of 76, Royal Order of Jesters, and the local chapter of the CCC. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy; niece, Sharon Schatz and her husband, Dr. Herman Schatz, their sons, Timothy Schatz of Chicago, Dr. Todd Schatz and his wife, Kim; nephew, Jerome Thorson and his son, Eric Thorson of Minneapolis, MN; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents of Kintyre, ND; sisters, Grace Ohm of Oshkosh, WI, Ruth Thorson of Minneapolis, MN; two infant sisters; and nephew, Robert Ohm of Linton, ND. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 4, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at St. Timothy's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 211 Jefferson NE, with Pastor Jonathan Holmer officiating. Memorial graveside services will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, with Masonic Lodge, #68 officiating. Pulakos -- George P. Pulakos, 76, a resident of New Mexico since 1951, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla; daughters, Kathy Motschall and husband, Paul of Petoskey, MI, Gretchen Anaya and husband, David of Albuquerque, Joan Pulakos and husband, Tom Fletcher of Pullman, WA, Tacy Pulakos of Reno, NV, and Lesa Vigil and husband, Steven of Pullman, WA; son, Dino Serna Pulakos of Albuquerque; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Elaine Adam; brother, Milton Pulakos and wife, Barbara Poska; longtime family friend, Vivian Kardaras, all of New York City, NY; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Brown Pulakos. Mr. Pulakos, a native of Erie, PA, graduated from Choate Preparatory School in Connecticut and attended Dartmouth College until 1942, when he enlisted in the U.S. Military Service. He served with the 8th Weather Squadron, North Atlantic Division until his discharge in 1946. Mr. Pulakos returned to his studies in accounting and received his certificate as a C.P.A. in 1956. He started his own practice in 1958 and in 1972, formed the accounting firm of Pulakos & Alongi, which continues in business to this day. Mr. Pulakos was active in many professional areas, holding committee appointments at the local, state and national levels, particularly serving in the area of teaching fellow accountants in various specialty areas. Mr. Pulakos was also active in civic activities, having served for many years on the Community Advisory Board for KNME-TV5 and related organizations. He served as treasurer to the Albuquerque Woodworker's Association for many years. Mr. Pulakos was well known as a speaker to various charitable and civic organizations. Upon retirement from active practice, he served on the State Board as Accountancy Investigator of Complaints. Mr. Pulakos also held appointments to various offices at the local, state and national levels. He was recently named to the 1998 Lifetime Achievement Awards in recognition of his outstanding achievements and dedication to the C.P.A. profession. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Monday, 2:00 p.m., at the First Unitarian Church, 3701 Carlisle Blvd. NE, with Rev. Marlin Gilbert officiating. Private interment of cremains will take place at SAnta Fe National Cemetery. Roach -- Ruth M. Roach, 81, mother of five, grandmother of nine, and great-grandmother of one, died Sunday morning, April 11, 1999 at 1:33 a.m. Ruth is survived by her children, Laurie Hansen and husband, Dennis of Twin Falls, ID, Greg Roach and wife, Nancy of Grapevine, TX, Karen Rodriguez and husband, Patrick of Santa Fe, Warren Roach and wife, Jane of Colorado Springs, and Melanie Upshaw and husband, Bob of Stanley, NM; her grandchildren, Elisa Vargas and husband, Jose, Steven Hansen, Nathan Roach, Kevin Roach, Liane Roach, Christopher Roach, Laura Roach, Michael Roach, and Samantha Upshaw; and her great-grandchild, Jacob Vargas. Ruth is also survived by six brothers and four sisters, Ralph Johnson, Joyce Spillum, Lloyd Johnson, George Johnson, Lois Olsen, Paul Johnson, Doris Weiks, Gordon Johnson, Howard Johnson, and Mary Well Nichols. Her two brothers, Norman Johnson and Kenneth Johnson preceded Ruth in death. Ruth was born March 2, 1918 in Sioux City, Iowa and lived there until moving to Seattle, Washington to work with Dr. Fred Jarvis in 1938. Her parents and family also moved to Seattle in 1940. She met US Navy Chief Petty Officer, Vincent Forrest Roach during WWII and they were married March 31, 1945. After retiring from the Navy, Ruth and Forrest moved to Albuquerque in 1961. Their five children grew up and went to school in Albuquerque where Ruth was active in politics both locally and nationally. Forrest died in 1985 and Ruth moved back to Seattle in 1991. Ruth moved to Colorado Springs in 1996 and was a resident of the Cheyenne Place Retirement Community until her death. Ruth loved children and families. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs and a 1st and 2nd grade reading helper at Oak Creek Elementary where three of her grandchildren attended school. She was active in the lives of her children and grandchildren and made immeasurable and lasting positive contributions. She enjoyed people and people found it easy to enjoy Ruth. She will be missed terribly and loved always. Memorial services were held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 1999 at the First Presbyterian Church, 219 East Bijou Street, Colorado Springs, CO and at a later time in Seattle, Washington for her family and friends living there. Sandoval -- Carl H. Sandoval, 72, died March 1, 1999 after a long illness in Stuttgart, Germany. A former resident of Corrales, he retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #822 A.F.A.M. in Stuttgart, Germany. He is survived by one sister, Lu Bracamonte of Rio Rancho; one brother, Bart Sandoval of Albuquerque; an aunt, Manuelita Walker of Alameda; and many nieces and nephews. Werner -- John M. Werner, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, died Friday, April 30, 1999. He is survived by his beloved wife, Glorya, of 56 years; son, John N. of Rio Rancho; daughters, Carole Jones of Orlando, FL., and Laurel Bateman of Lakewood, WA; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Mr. Werner served his country honorably during WWII with the U.S. Army. He is a former resident of West Orange, NJ, and retired from Singer Sewing Machine Company. There will be a memorial service Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Academy at Moon. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
