Bauer -- Donald F. Bauer, 76, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, February 26, 1999. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and was survived by daughters, Donna Bauer of Albuquerque and Kathleen Done and husband, James of West Des Moines, IA; sons, Richard Bauer and John Bauer of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Paul Done and wife, Imelda of San Bernardino, CA, Kerrie Done of San Francisco, CA, Meredith Done, James Done and Adam Done of West Des Moines, IA and Evan Bauer of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Andrew Done and Timothy Done of San Bernadino, CA; and sisters, Rita Richter of Omaha, NE and Betty Prien and husband, Ray, of Ft. Stockton, TX. Mr. Bauer was preceded in death by his three wives, Virginia, Lona and Bernice. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Bauer was very proud of his service with the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a chief clerk and retired after 37 years. He was a member of American Legion Post #99, American Legion Post #13, and John XXIII Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 1999 at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Monday, March 1, 1999, 11:00 a.m., John XXIII Catholic Church, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE with Father Arkad Biczak, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Brown -- Louise S. Brown, formerly Louise Shackelford, maiden name Louisa Semons, left us peacefully on February 22, 1999. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be missed by all her family and friends. Her oldest brother, Joe, survives her. Louisa was born on February 29, 1910 in Opelousas, Louisiana, later married John Morgan Shackelford who she precedes, and three children, Betty Jonas (deceased), Barbara Leeson (deceased), and John Jr. Through them she has ten grandchildren and the great-grandchildren are still coming. She lives on through them who will never forget her-each have gone on because of her, and we all love her for who she was and what she stood for. A true pioneer who lived through hard times good and bad, Cajun mais oui, she defined life and lived it in the fullest. May God smile on her now and forever through our blessed Saviour, Jesus Christ. Cremation arrangements are being provided by Sunrise Society, 891-8200.

Carlyle -- John "Bob" Carlyle, 71, a resident of Albuquerque for 39 years, died Friday, February 26, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carole Carlyle of Albuquerque; daughters, Susan Carlyle of Los Lunas, NM, Linda Austin and husband, Gary of Flagstaff, AZ, Diane Sarson and husband, Mark of Albuquerque and Donna Carlyle of Dallas, TX; six grandchildren, Michelle, Karen and Steven Garcia, Janelle, Patrick and Michaela Sarson; and a brother, William Carlyle of Florida. Mr. Carlyle formerly resided in Wellington, OH. He was in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Mr. Carlyle was a member of Mesa Lodge #68 AF&AM. He was Past Associate Grand Guardian of NM and Past Associate Bethel Guardian, Bethel #4 of Albuquerque, I.O.J.D. Mr. Carlyle retired after 38 years of service from KAFB. He enjoyed camping, fishing, building dollhouse furniture and photography. Mr. Carlyle was employed by Collision One/Casa Chevrolet. He was a dedicated family man. Services will be held Monday, March 1, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Past Master Richard Taylor officiating. Dickson -- Ruth Roebuck Dickson celebrated her 100th Birthday on July 23, 1998. She passed away on February 19, 1999. Ruth and her late husband, John Graham Dickson, moved to Corrales in 1960 and occupied a small house on the property of their only daughter and son-in-law. During her early years in Corrales, Ruth worked with Kay Witherspoon and Ruth Owens at the original Corrales Library and received a certificate for her work from Ann Dunlap, former Mayor of Corrales. Since 1993, Ruth has resided at a Rio Rancho nursing home where she made many friends. Her 100th birthday was celebrated by a visit from her nephew, Richard Boyer and his two daughters, all from Columbia City, Indiana, and her local family. She is survived by her daughter, Bette Casteel and son-in-law, Robert E. Casteel, grandson, Douglas Casteel, great-grandson, Dustin Casteel, and a sister, Helen Myers of Columbia City, Indiana, and Vicki and Mike Vehar, and one niece, Mrs. Charles Stevens and family; nephews, Frank Myers and family, Robert Boyer and wife, and Richard Boyer and family; a nephew, Jack Tallett and daughters in California and a niece, Joan Cook and family in Lake Forest, Illinois. Sisters, Gene Boyer, Mary Pollite, Martha Schoff and Melba Parker of Indiana, and one brother, Ronald Paine Roebuck, late of Roswell, NM, preceded her in death. Ruth remained alert, intelligent and ever"feisty." She took pride in what her father said of her,"Small, but oh my." She will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place and her ashes have been placed in the plot next to her husband, John. A Celebration of Ruth's life will be held in the summer.

Didio -- Andrew Frank Didio, 65, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, February 26, 1999. He was born September 10, 1933 in Flushing, NY to Frank James Didio and Amelia Becce Didio. Andrew was a veteran of the US Air Force and worked for many years as a salesman and manager. He resided in New York, Arizona, California, Oregon, Mexico and New Mexico during his life. He is survived by a son, Steven of Silverdale, WA; two daughters, Lisa Swanson of Deming, NM and Andrea Strand of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Jaimie, Cameron, Justin, Jordan and Ryan. He is also survived by Jane Didio Nichols, the mother of his three children; and Angela Strempek, his companion of two years. The family would like to thank University Hospital for their tender and humane care. Memorial gifts may be given in his name to: Kidney Transplant Services, University Hospital, 2211 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. Dubois -- Rose DuBois, 84, was called home to be with the Lord Friday, February 12 , 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank DuBois in 1990. She is survived by her son, Jim and wife, Marge of Grand Junction, CO, son, Robert and wife, Theresa of Albuquerque; daughter, Arlene of Missouri; son, David and wife, Margaret of Ridgecrest, CA; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Eggleston -- Arthur Haight"Art" Eggleston, loving daddy, husband, and granddaddy, passed away after a long fought illness on Thursday, February 25, 1999. Arthur was born on September 19, 1911. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Felt Eggleston, who passed away on November 7, 1981. Arthur's family wants him to be remembered for his total devotion to life, God and for his complete love and kindness for his loving family and friends. He worked 54 years as a dry cleaner, both in Albuquerque, where he was a partner in Master Cleaners and owner of Eggleston Dry Cleaning in Greenfield, IN. Arthur was a member of Blue Lodge, Hancock Lodge #101 F & AM of Greenfield, IN, Greenfield York Rite, Masonic Temple Lodge #6, Ballut Abyad Temple of Albuquerque and The Lions Club of Albuquerque. He is survived by his loving daughter, Carolyn Kay Burch; son-in-law, Danny R. Burch; granddaughters, Leanne Marie Grier and Trisha Dee Crow; great-granddaughters, Austin Leigh Grier and Skye Marie Grier; and step-grandsons, Adam Jeffrey and Tylor Christian Grier, all of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his niece, Barbara Jean Muegge and husband, Richard"Dick" of Greenfield, IN; great-niece, Teri Seigal of Indianapolis, IN; and great-nephew, Mark Muegge of Ft. Stockton, TX; and cousin, Thelma Smith of San Diego, CA. Fisch -- Isadore"Izzy" Fisch, age 87, passed away on February 12, 1999. Mr. Fisch was a resident of Sunrise Nursing Center in Rio Rancho. Mr. Fisch was born in Galicia, Austria on April 12, 1912. He became an American citizen on June 23, 1924, and was a survivor of one of the German prison camps. He worked in the textile industry for many years while living in Reading, Pennsylvania, where he also met and married his soul mate and beloved wife of 40 years, the late Helen Marie Fisch. Isadore was a true gentleman who dearly loved his wife and his family, he enjoyed reading, fishing, and nature. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Wolfe and her husband, Bill of Palm Bay, FL; a grandson, Rick Shutter and his wife, Sandra of Carlsbad, NM; a granddaughter, Sherryln Shuey and her husband, Curtis of Rio Rancho; and two great-grandchildren, Kristie Nicole and Christopher Nicolas Shuey. Goddard -- Roy F. Goddard, M.D., 79, died February 5 in Cardiff, California. He is survived by his wife, Joann; three sons, Steve, Laurie, and George; his daughter, Mare; and six grandchildren. Roy was born in 1919 in Mesilla Park, New Mexico. His father, Ralph Goddard, professor of engineering, started KOB radio station at NMSU in the 1920's. Roy graduated from NMSU in 1940 and the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, in 1949. He moved back to his beloved New Mexico in 1952 to practice pediatrics at the Lovelace Clinic. Roy will be remembered by his friends for his work with children; professionally he specialized in pediatric allergy and chest disease and practiced in Albuquerque for 32 years. He was a board member of the national Association of Pediatric Pulmonary Centers. He started the New Mexico Cystic Fibrosis Center and the Winrock Plaza Pediatric Pulmonary and Cystic Fibrosis Center. He invented and developed the Goddard Bennett Lovelace infant resuscitator. He served as President of the Bernalillo County Medical Association. He was very active in amateur sports. He directed many swim and water polo meets and served on the Bernalillo County Parks and Recreation Board; he helped found the Albuquerque Sports Hall of Fame, and was president of that organization. He served in the local and national AAU, and was Chairman of the National Sports Medicine Committee of the AAU from 1964-1974. He was presented with the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce award for One of America's 12 Physical Fitness Leaders by President Johnson in 1964. A private service will be held in California on Sunday, February 28.

Harenberg -- Brent Harenberg, 50, a resident of Albuquerque since 1985, died February 25, 1999 after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Janice; his son, Josh; his sister, Tanya; his brother, Hank and his wife, Rebecca; his step-daughters, Lynette and Renae and her husband, Brian and granddaughter, Kalie; and his nephews, Mark and Scott and his mother-in-law, Jean Cummings. He was former President of Southwest Federal Credit Union, and most recently, headed up the Commercial Loan Division of Capital Mortgage, Inc. Brent will be sadly missed by his family and numerous friends and co-workers. He will be remembered by everyone who knew him, as a very fun-loving person, who thoroughly enjoyed life. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 1, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at All Saints Lutheran Church, 4800 all Saints Rd., NW (near the corner of Coors and Paseo Del Norte) with Pastor Tim Thies officiating. Herry -- Cale C. Herry, Major (Ret), USAF, 69, an Albuquerque resident since 1957, died Friday, February 26, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ann Herry of the family home; daughter, Deborah Lynn Chavez and husband, Tom, of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Cynthia and Carla Chavez, both of Albuquerque; brother, Don F. Herry of Lyndonville, NY; and several nieces and nephews in New York. He served in the USAF as a pilot and completed 100 combat missions in Korea flying F-84 and F-86 aircraft. During the Vietnam conflict, he flew 146 missions in the RB57 aircraft. After 20 years service, Mr. Herry retired from the Air Force at the rank of Major in 1969 at Kirtland AFB. Major Herry earned his masters degree in Public Administration at the University of New Mexico. He worked for the State of New Mexico Water Quality Department in Santa Fe and was later Director of Public Utilities for the State of Alaska in Anchorage. After returning to New Mexico, he enjoyed a retirement of hunting and fishing in the company of many of his fellow military retirees in Central New Mexico. His hobbies included travel, photography and his lifelong love of flying. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 2, 1999 at Santa Fe National Cemetery with Chaplain Colonel Lemuel Boyles, USAF (Ret), officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Kirtland AFB Honor Guard. Howard -- William R. Howard, age 77, a resident of Albuquerque since 1932, passed away on February 25, 1999. He was born in Kirksville, MO, December 5, 1921."Bill" was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Emily Howard; and is survived by his daughter, Nancy Klinkhammer of Woodland, CA; and a son, William Jr. of Albuquerque; two granddaughters, Erica and Julie; and one great-granddaughter, Nicole. Jarmark -- Lily Jarmark, 80, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 30 years, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 1999. Lily was born April 23, 1918 in Liverpool England. She was married to Irving Jarmark in 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. Lily and Irving came to New Mexico from Brooklyn, New York. Lily had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Jewish War Veterans, and had been a bell ringer with the Salvation Army. Lily is survived by her husband, Irving of Rio Rancho; two sisters-in-law, Frances Lieberson and Florence Grubman of New York; one brother-in-law, Joseph Jarmark and wife, Ann of California. The Graveside Services were held on Friday, February 26, 1999 in the Jewish War Veterans Section in Vista Verde Memorial Park with Cantor Aron Straser officiating. Johnson -- James Rayburn Johnson"JR," son of George and Dolly Johnson, was born on Sunday, September 5, 1915 and died on Wednesday, February 24, 1999. JR is survived by his wife of 34 years, Flora B. Johnson of Albuquerque. He leaves behind four daughters and one stepdaughter, Nancy Baker and husband, Max of Powell, WY, Cheryl Bell of Midland, TX, Dolly Flowers and husband, Robert of Albuquerque, Linda Coleman of Albuquerque and Evaughn Knudsen and husband, Norman of San Jose, CA; a son, Larry Miller and wife, Donna of Santee, CA; and a stepson, Larry Bennett and wife, Kaye of Albuquerque. JR had 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He had many nieces and nephews. JR was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers. JR's family wishes to acknowledge the nurses and staff of Presbyterian Hospice and his"family" at the Village at Alameda for their diligent care and concern. King -- Odis Ben King, 87, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on February 26, 1999. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Hiram 13 in Albuquerque and loved gardening. Odis worked at the AT & SF Railroad as a conductor for 43 years in the New Mexico Division. Odis is survived by his two sons, Zane King and his wife, Jacqueline of Albuquerque and James B. King of Kansas; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Romero Funeral Home, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. A Graveside Service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, NM. Lonz -- Thomas F. Lonz, 77, a resident of Albuquerque for 51 years, passed away Friday evening, February 26, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Maureen O'Rourke Lonz, of Albuquerque; sons, Steve, Thomas J. and wife, Gina and Gary, all of Albuquerque; daughters, Loretta Lonz of Lafayette, IN and Christine Gibson and husband, Alan of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Michelle, Timothy, and Patrick Lonz, and Craig, Christopher, Cameron and Elizabeth Gibson; several in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence Michael. Mr. Lonz was born September 4, 1921, to Clarence A. and Loretto C. Lonz and raised in Kokomo, IN. He was the first person to graduate from Purdue University in full military uniform. He also attended a specialized school of Military Intelligence at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. Mr. Lonz did graduate work at Catholic University and Johns Hopkins University. In World War II, he served as an interpreter for the 97th Infantry Division in Europe and as an instructor during the Pacific Campaign and the American occupation of Japan. As a member of the Catholic Church, he was a past president of the Holy Name Society and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired from Sandia National Laboratories in 1982 after 28 years of service. Tom and Maureen were planning to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on April 19. The Rosary will be recited on Monday, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10550 Lomas Blvd. NE. Martinez -- Clorinda Martinez, longtime Elementary School Teacher, Principal, and Second Presbyterian Church member, was called home at the age of 92 on Tuesday, February 23, 1999. Born January 16, 1907 in Le Doux, NM in Mora County, she was the daughter of Eugenio and Matilde Martinez. A graduate of Highlands University, she taught in Edgewood and Moriarty, and also served as a health care worker in Mora County. An avid reader of her Bible, she underwent cataract surgery twice in order to continue her daily devotional reading. She is survived by her only son, Joshua Ben Abraham; brother, Arturo Martinez and wife, Ramona of Mora; sisters, Tillie Arellano and Merlinda Gonzales and her husband, Tomas of Albuquerque. She was preceded by brother, Nicholas Martinez. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, especially niece, Mae Anderson; three granddaughters, Catherine Sandoval-Williams and husband, Scott and Christine D. Sandoval, both of Albuquerque, and Fatima Sandoval of Phoenix. Graveside services will be held on February 25 at 1:00 p.m. in El Carmen, NM, with a burial in the family gravesite, Rev. Anthony Chavez officiating. Pallbearers are Joshua Ben Abraham, Andrew Aragon, Sammy Aragon, Jake Aragon, Roy Martinez, and Max Zamora. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 10:00 a.m., at the Second Presbyterian Church, on the corner of Edith and Lomas, Albuquerque, NM.

Mckee -- Hazel E. McKee, formerly of Albuquerque, died in a nursing home in Livingston, TX on February 4, 1999 at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul McKee; sons, Richard and Rodney McKee; and daughter, Anita Strickland. She is survived by one son, Ronald E. McKee of Cleveland, TX; ten grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Hazel will be remembered lovingly by all her family and friends. Miller -- Maynard Miller, 69, passed away peacefully on February 25 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ina; his devoted daughter, Anita Bine; and loving grandchildren, Sara and Rachel Bine of St. Paul MN. He is also survived by his brothers, Stanley (Hilda) Miller of Tustin, CA and Joseph (Barbara) Miller of Rockville, MD; and his sister Judith (Les) Berman of Louisville, KY; eights nieces and nephews; and six grandnieces and nephews. His mother, Fannie of Santa Ana, CA also survives him. He was predeceased by his daughter, Diana Miller; and his father, Israel Abraham Miller. He had a special relationship with exchange"children" Martine Bono of Garches, France, Mladen Veljic of Belgrade, Yugoslavia, Susanne Kachlik of Berlin, Germany; Alfred Nordmann (Germany) of Columbia, SC, Per Frejvall of Saltsjobaden, Sweden, and Pavlinka Georgiev (Yugoslavia) of Melbourne, Australia; and his"grandson" Aaron Goodman of Albuquerque. He was born and grew up in Maine, graduating from the University of Michigan with a BBA & MBA in accounting. He had an illustrious career as a Certified Public Accountant, serving for many years as a partner with KPMG Peat Marwick, the international accounting firm. Maynard gave consistently of his time and expertise to many organization both her and abroad. He was appointed by several Governors to the State Board of Finance, the State Board of Accounting, and most recently to the Educational Retirement Board. He served on several committees of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy. As a member and chairman of the State of New Mexico Museum of Natural History Foundation, he helped to raise the money to build the museum. Other organizations included the Girl Scouts, Rotary Club of Albuquerque, Carrie Tingley Hospital, Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, New Mexico Symphony, and June Music Festival. As a Volunteer Executive for the International Executive Service Corps, he served with Ina in Columbia, Ecuador, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan. He also was sent by the Rotary Foundation to do accounting work in India for the Polio Project. His main interests were travel, travel photography, classical music and civic activities. His loves were his family and friends. Maynard will be remembered as a kind, gentle, caring human being with a good sense of humor and great compassion for those less fortunate. He will be sorely missed by many organizations and individuals whose lives he touched. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Unitarian Church, 3701 Carlisle NE on Saturday, March 20 at 10:00 a.m. No flowers please. Saavedra -- Mr. John Edward Saavedra, age 46, after a long illness, went to be with the Lord on February 26, 1999. He was born on October 21, 1952 and was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his mother, Senobia Saavedra. He is survived by his father, Primo Saavedra and wife, Rita; four sisters, Margie Torres and husband, Ernie, Nancy Romero and husband, Charlie, Lucille Gutierrez and husband, Ray and Betty Minero and Bert; three brothers, Paul Saavedra and wife, Pauline, James Saavedra and wife, Dorthy of Las Vegas, NV and Richard Saavedra and wife, Frieda of Denver, CO; ex-wife, Cecilia Saavedra; and his godchild, Alyssa Florez, and numerous nieces and nephews. John worked for Galles Chevrolet for over 20 years and along with Cecilia owned La Mesa Lunch on Copper. John was loved by all of us and will be missed greatly. Swager -- Donald W. Swager, 46, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, February 22, 1999. He is survived by his parents, Ray and Myrtle Lockinger, Charles and Ruth Swager, all of Albuquerque; daughter, Zoey of Moriarty; brothers, Dick Swager and his wife, Sue of Virginia Beach, VA, Dean Swager and his wife, Deborah; nieces and nephews, Heather and Melina of Virginia Beach, CA, and Dana, Dena, Dawna and Deona Swager of Albuquerque; aunts, Sharon Welsh and Sybil Brooks and their families; great-aunt, Velma Coleman and beloved cousins. Don was born 1/08/53 and lived in Albuquerque for five years before the family moved to Columbus, NE where he was raised, went to school and developed a passion for music. He belonged to several bands in Nebraska and played popular music for many fans. Throughout the years, he helped nurture a love for music in his family and friends. Don attended trade schools and became an accomplished draftsman, making use of his artistic skills. He worked for several manufacturing firms. When he returned to Albuquerque and rejoined other members of the family, he became a valued and essential member of the local family business, T&M Research, which manufactures electronic components. He was considered an artisan at his work, was methodical and meticulous, carrying on a family tradition in quality. He was a member of several different bands performing Country/Western and popular music. He married Melissa Swager and they had a daughter, Zoey, together. Don was a loving and devoted father. He was known by many for his music, but he was also a caring benefactor. Don was a generous, providing for others while he himself would do without. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and countless others whose lives he touched. Memorial services will be held Saturday, 2/27/99 at 10:00 a.m., Sunset Memorial Park Chapel, 924c Menaul NE, Albuquerque, NM. Arrangements for cremation were made by Sunrise Society of NM, 891-8200.
