Anaya -- Abel Anaya, Sr., 88, passed away Thursday. He was born in Tajique, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque. Abel was a member of one of New Mexico's pioneer families. Through hard work and dedication he and his wife of 67 years, Juanita, built a strong family of many fine individuals. As a young father, Abel journeyed to Albuquerque on buckboards and horse drawn wagons seeking work to feed his large family and always returning to provide food and essentials. Through his dedicated efforts Abel watched his family continue to grow and prosper, Juanita always at his side. Abel retired from working for the City of Albuquerque. He will always be remembered as the friendliest man at the Pino Yard. He was also a dedicated member of the Rio Grande Credit Union."We will miss you!" Mr. Anaya is survived by his wife, Juanita; sons, Laco Anaya, Sr, and his wife, Priscilla, Ben Anaya and his wife, Emily, Abel Anaya Jr., and his wife, Alice, Sam Anaya and his wife, Carol, Carmel Anaya and his wife, Carmela, Nario Anaya and his wife, Rosalie; daughters, Lita Cruz and her late husband, Johnny, Bea Varela and her husband, Eddie; Judy Griffin and her husband, David, Victoria Walker and her husband, Bruce; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Daniel. Anaya. the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Riverside Funeral Care Center in Los Lunas. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church of Albuquerque. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Estancia. Baiza -- Cuca R. Baiza, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23, 1998. Cuca was born on March 20, 1914, in Hereford, TX. Mrs. Baiza was preceded in death by her parents Proto Rodriguez and Margarita Sanchez; son, Robert"Nick Landlee; brothers, Nicholas and Manuel; and sister, Teresa. She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Alberto Baiza and wife, Ramona of Fayetteville, NC, Andy Rodriguez; and Debbie of Azusa, CA; Marcella Anzures and husband, Ralph of Albuquerque; daughters-in-law, Gigi Baca and Lydia Gutierrez; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and those who knew and loved her. Glover -- Gordon Thomas Glover, born in Salina, Kansas March 4, 1916, died October 23, 1998, in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ann Glover; son, Tom Glover and wife, Mary; daughter, Pat Glover; and 2 granddaughters, Trisha and Carrie. Gordon received a BS and MS in metallurgical engineering at the University of Alabama. He built and operated flotation mills in Southwestern New Mexico before his retirement in 1981. During his lifetime he was very active in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held in Albuquerque on Thursday, October 29, at 3:00 p.m. at Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd NE, with Rev. Lucero -- Elijio Louis"Junior" Lucero, 46, of Encino, NM, was called to a better place to be with his heavenly father on October 23, 1998. Louis died Friday at Ruidoso Care Center. He was born October 18, 1952, at Encino, NM to the home of Jose Elijio and Emma Chavez Lucero. He attended school at Encino and Vaughn, NM. Elijio was a resident of ENMRSH in Santa Rosa from 1986-1992. For the past seven years he made his home at Ruidoso Care Center where he was employed at Allsups Convenience Stores, Pizza Hut, and Si Senor Restaurant. Louis participated in Special Olympics where he has won many medals. He most recently participated in the Special Olympics at Artesia on October 16th. Louis was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Encino, NM. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank Chavez and his paternal grandparents, Jose and Eva Rivera. Survivors includes: his parents, Jose Elijio and Emma Lucero of the home in Encino; one sister, Christine Perea of Edgewood, NM; one brother, Ernest and wife, Cindy of Clovis; nieces, Felicity, Melanie and Trindy; three nephews, Ernie, Joseph and Lance. Procter -- John"Jack" E. Procter, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on October 23, 1998, after a courageous but short battle with cancer. Born April 13, 1925, in New York City, he retired from US West in 1982 after 36 years of service. A World War II Air Force veteran, he was a member of the Del Norte Gun Club, the Gun Collector's Association and the Telephone Pioneers. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Valentine; and daughters, Kathleen Lowe and husband, Richard; Denise Politano and husband, Louis, Dorothy Leake and husband, Terry, and Lisa King; as well as a son, William and wife, Joyce. He served in the US Army in the Pacific during WWII. Mr. Rose is survived by Mary, his wife of 57 years.
