Bonnell -- Mary Bonnell, 91, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, and more recently Aurora, CO, passed away on July 8th in Aurora. She is survived by two sons, William of Aurora and Jack and his wife, Anne of Littleton, CO. She also has five grandchildren, Michelle, Kathleen, Jackie, Jennifer, John and Mary; and four great-grandchildren,Troy, Holly, Stephen and Brandy. Mary devoted her life to raising her three boys (James passed away in 1981) and later on to raising one of her granddaughters. She will always be remembered for her loving ways and her ability to bring out the best in everyone around her. We will miss her tremendously. There will be a small cryptside memorial service on August 9th, at 4:00 p.m., in the Sunset Memorial Mausoleum, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Chavez -- Benito Roger Chavez, 68, was pronounced dead on August 1, 1998. He was born on December 29, 1929 and lived most of his life in Albuquerque. He is survived by his daughter, Anjala Chavez; his grandson, Angel Chavez; his sons, Ron and Brian Chavez, all of Albuquerque. After completing service in the Navy, Benito operated"Ben's Food Bin", a South Valley grocery store. Later in life, he derived pleasure from both vegetable and flower gardening. Another interest he had was in the local chili market. He supplied chili and produce to his many friends. Benito loved animals and had an especially deep attachment to his dogs. Gallegos -- Mrs. Tocha Gallegos, 88, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed on August 6, 1998 at home with her loved ones at her side. Mrs. Gallegos was preceded in death by her husband, Eustaquio Gallegos; her daughter, Pearl Gallegos Abeyta; and her son, Napoleon Gallegos. Mr. Gallegos is survived by three sons, Leroy Gallegos, Tony Gallegos and wife, Emma and Toby Gallegos; three daughters, Gloria Garcia and husband, Rafael, Roberta Sandoval and husband, Larry of Chula, CA, and Mary Valverde and husband, Thomas; one brother, Larry Candelaria and wife, Mildred of Duarte, CA; 27 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gallegos was a member of the Catholic church. Visitation will be Sunday in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW, from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in The Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW, by Mrs. Gabriella Nieto. Final visitation will be Monday morning in the church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Father Richard Olona. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Gallegos, Tommy Valverde, Ralph Garcia Jr., Richard Garcia, Lonnie Gallegos, Tim Abeyta and Rick Abeyta. Koeber -- Robert C. Koeber On Tuesday night, August 4, 1998, our beloved"Papacito", Robert (Bob) C. Koeber, 82, died. He was a native of Chicago, Illinois, born January 12, 1916, the son of Henry J. Koeber and Anna Lindermann Koeber. His father, Henry J. Koeber, was a successful Chicago coal merchant. Bob Koeber was the brother of the late Elsa, Theodore, Henry and John Koeber. Bob Koeber graduated from Knox College, was a member of the Army Air Corp during WWII, a graduate of the Air Corp Photographer School, and Air Corp Intelligence School. After the war, Bob Koeber came to Albuquerque. He married Mela Sedillo, a U.N.M. Art Professor, and member of a longtime New Mexico family. Her father, Antonio Abad Sedillo, served as the District Attorney in both Socorro and Albuquerque, as well as the Republican Speaker of the House. Mela Koeber predeceased Bob Koeber in 1989. Bob Koeber was an active member of the Albuquerque community. He was a contractor who built beautiful homes throughout the North Valley, including the Los Terrones Apartments. He restored historical adobe building, for example, La Placita in Old Town. He was a member of the Bernalillo County Economic Opportunity Board and Bernalillo County Planning and Zoning Commission. He and his wife, Mela, were active members of the Democratic Party's grass roots movement. Bob Koeber, a strong believer in individual freedom and choice, was a member of the board of the local A.C.L.U. He was a generous benefactor to numerous environmental and cultural causes, including the Nature Conservancy, the Wildlife Society, Knox College, and the University of New Mexico Art and Theater Department. Bob Koeber is survived by his daughter, Tulita Jeffries and grandsons, Eric Jeffries and his wife, Mary Ann, Anthony Jeffries and Donald Jeffries, all of Albuquerque; and great-grandchildren, Scott, Sterling, Travis, Laura and Catherine; nephews, Peter Koeber of Chicago, and John Koeber of Philadelphia; nieces, Sue Chiado of Seattle and Martha Neth of Springfield, MO; as well as sisters-in-law, Marian Peter Koeber, Seattle and Hildegard Heine Koeber, Clearwater, FL; and his querida compañera, Marian Lieuwen, Albuquerque. A memorial for Bob Koeber will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 1998 at the First Unitarian Church located at 3701 Carlisle Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico, to be followed with a reception at the home of his grandsons. Moorman -- Helen D. Moorman, resident of Albuquerque since December 1993, beloved wife of Charles; mother of Sam, Tom and Pat; grandmother of Gabrielle and Seth, passed away on August 3, 1998. Born June 1, 1912 in Portland, Oregon, she and Charles were married 58 years. Helen had many hobbies and interests, and had lived and traveled to many corners of the world. Robinson -- Kyle Richard Robinson, age 27, a resident of Albuquerque since 1990, died August 3, 1998. He is survived by his father, James. R. Robinson and Sandi and Ian Jones of Springfield, VA; his grandparents, Harold and Sonia Gans of Santa Fe, and Ruth Robinson of Norman, OK; brother, Michael Robinson of Bethesda, MD; aunts and uncles, David, Judy; and cousins, Hadley Robinson of Herndon, VA, John and Lindy Ritz of Norman, OK, and Marjorie Gans of Santa Fe. Kyle graduated from UNM in 1995 with a BA in Architecture. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and he was employed by Kells and Craig Architects, Inc. Royal -- Maurice Royal, 64 years of age, went to his God on August 6 after a long illness. Maurice was born in High Lodge, Santon Dowham, Suffolk, England. He is survived by his wife, Frances Perea Royal; his daughter, Linda Royal; and four sons, Paul, Kevin, Geoffrey, Stephen Royal, all of England; one step-son, Dr. Michael Suminski of Oklahoma City, OK; and 15 grandchildren, all of England; one sister, Sandra Hall; one brother, Fred Royal, both of England. Maurice was a kind gentle and generous man. He will be dearly missed by all his relatives and friends. Rust -- James E. Rust, 77, died Tuesday, August 4, 1998. A loving father of two and grandfather of ten, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nila Rust; sister, Vera Lockhart of Greentown, IN; daughter, Carolyn (Rusty) Mason and husband, Jim and their children, Mona Koerner and husband, Wes of Albuquerque and Mitchell Mason of Provo, UT; son, Kenneth Rust and wife, Edi of Waxahache, TX and their children, Krista and Erika of Albuquerque, Jeremiah, Adria, Mikah, Dana, Joshua, and Ira, all of Waxahachie, TX. James was born in Howard County, IN and moved to Albuquerque in 1959, where he worked as a building contractor until his retirement in 1971. After retirement, James worked eight years as a volunteer for the Mobile Missionaries Assistance Program (MMAP), where he put his contractors knowledge to work building for worthy charitable organizations. Failing health eventually forced him into retirement again. Truitt -- Lillian Elizabeth Truitt, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died peacefully after a short illness on Thursday morning, August 6, 1998. She is survived by her sons, John Truitt and wife, Holly of Albuquerque and Lee Truitt and wife, Patricia of Las Vegas, NV; grandson, Lee Truitt of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Jacquelyn Truitt of Albuquerque, Victoria Lea Truitt of Farmington, and Tricia Fochler of Las Vegas, NV; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee M. Truitt Sr. in 1985. Lillian had been a resident of Placitas West since 1968, and with her husband, helped to start the Placitas West Water Cooperative. She had been a member of the Sandoval County Historical Society and the Placitas Garden Club. Lillian extended warmth, love and compassion to everyone she met. She had many, many friends and will be dearly missed.
