Ammons -- Joyce"Sue" Ammons, 60, a resident of Rio Rancho passed away on Sunday, June 21, 1998. Joyce was born July 16, 1937, the daughter of David and Susie Barnett Adkins in Robert Lee, Texas. She and her husband Nathan came to Rio Rancho from Las Vegas, NV. Joyce had worked for Savings and Loans company's for many years. Joyce was preceded in death by a brother, Woodson Arrandale Adkins. She is survived by her husband, Nathan Oliver Ammons of Rio Rancho; two sons, Arrandale Ammons and wife, Kimberly of Rio Rancho, Nathan Oliver Ammons, Jr. and wife, Virginia of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Zela Ruth Rives of Odessa, TX; brothers, J.D. Adkins of Marble Falls, TX, Neil Dean Adkins of Odessa, TX; three grandchildren, Heather J. Lynn, Breanna Marie, Johnathan D. A. all of Rio Rancho; cousins, Katie Vickery, Patsy Beck, David Buford, and Ricky Buford, and many nieces and nephews. Barb -- Gail L. Barb, Sr., 72, a resident of Albuquerque for 26 years, died Saturday June 20, 1998. He is survived by his daughter, Paula Barb; son, James Barb and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Aimee, Julian, and Stephanie, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Bruce Barb and wife, Emily of Ohio, Paul Barb and wife, Tasnee of Florida; sisters, Juanita Arens of Ohio, and Nancy Davis and husband, Mel of West Virginia; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Garland and husband, Dale of Texas, Peggy Pfeufer of Nevada, Margaret Rogers of Oklahoma; and Mary Barb of Virgina; brothers-in-law, Bob Morris and wife, Lil of Nevada, Joe Meyer of Oklahoma and Jim McGraw of West Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Barb in 1995; and by his son, Gail L."Rusty" Barb in 1976. Mr. Barb was a veteran of US Army and served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Conner -- Kenneth W. Ken Conner, 74, a resident of Albuquerque for five years, died Sunday, June 21, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cecilia P. Conner of Albuquerque; daughters, Michaele M. Hustad and husband, Jeff of Tucson, AZ, and Cecilia Pat Harrington and husband, Ed of Rochester, NY; sons, Kenneth W. Conner and wife, Karen of Little Rock, AK, and Geoffrey P. Curfman -- William Nelson, 95, a resident of Albuquerque for 9 years, passed away Sunday, June 21, 1998. He is survived by his nephew, Ben E. Curfman and wife of Albuquerque; Gale De Snet and family of Bosque Farms; Shirley Sutton and husband of Winter Springs, FL; Cathy Humphrey and family of Jonesboro, AK; Roberta Barber; step-daughter of Victorville, CA; step-son, Glenn Brumback of Westville, OK; an numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maida Lorene in 1977; his parents, Elmer and Jessie Curfman of Clayton, NM; and his five brothers; and one sister. He retired from Lockheed Aircraft Company. he was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers for 50 years. He was a member of Northdale Baptist Church of Albuquerque. Heth -- Martha Jean Heth, 61, a resident of Belen, NM passed away on June 20, 1998, in an Albuquerque hospital. Martha was born in Jefferson, Iowa on August 14, 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Virginia Tate; and one daughter, Pamela Heth. Martha is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Gene"Blackie" L. Heth; five children, Robert Heth and his wife, Vickie of Houston, TX, Larry Heth of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kathy Lopez and her husband, Sam of Carlsbad, NM, Kelly Heth and his wife, Chris of Blooomfield, NM, and Donna Bauer and her husband, Fred of Albuquerque, NM; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two brothers, William" Bill" Tate and his wife, Carole of Milan, NM; Larry E. Swager -- Doris Lucille Swager of Albuquerque passed away on Sunday, June 21, 1998. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Eugene Swager of 48 years. Her loving parents, Cecil F. Butler and Evlyn Ethal Butler; and her wonderful grandsons, Ronnie, Jody and Shane Swager; and granddaughter, Carrie Swager. She is survived by her great aunts, Pat Brady of Oregon and Velma Coleman of Albuquerque; sisters, Myrtie Leckinger and husband, Ray of Albuquerque, Sharon Welch of Albuquerque and Sybil Brooks and husband, Bruce of Nevada. Doris had five children all of Albuquerque, Debbie Smith, Cathy Sowers and husband, Keith, Randy Swager and wife, Susie, Duane Swager and wife, Deby and daughter, Nancy McBride. Doris had 12 beautiful grandchildren, Tyson Smith and wife, Veronica, of San Diego, Joyce Smith, Mary Lowe and husban,d James of Germany, Daysha Smith, Raemy Sowers, Jeffrey Sowers, Michael Swager, Cody Swager, Crystal Swager, Brian McBride, Jenna McBride and Robyn McBride; six great-grandchildren, Ashley, Austin and Aisen Lowe, Tyson Jr, Tyler Smith, and Christopher Swager. In addition to many nieces, nephews and friends. Doris lived a very rich and full life. She was a very loved and spriitual person. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. She loved life and enjoyed spending time among the flowers in her garden. Doris was a very well known and loved figure among bowlers world wide. She was recently inducted into the Womens Bowling Hall of Fame. Doris spent much time helping out the Jr. Bowlers of Albuquerque and traveled around the country each yeart to nationals. Doris chose to be cremated and to have her and her hsuband ashes spred together at Sunset Memorial, where services willbe held Friday, June 26, 3:00 p.m. at 924 Menaul NE. Reception to follow at Sister, Sharon Welch's house at 6036 Appleton Rd SW in Albuquerque. Her family and friends loved adn admired her greatly and her grandchildren adored her. She was so much to so many, she will be missed by all. Tafoya Sr., 76, a Bataan Death March survivor, member of the 200th Coast Artillery, lifelong resident of Albuquerque, and a notable APS & UNM educator for over 30 years, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998. He is survived by his sons, Herman O. Tafoya Jr., Brian E. Tafoya and wife, Nancy B., and Norman R. Tafoya and wife, Dr. Anne T., all of Albuquerque; daughters, Sharon T. Burner and husband, Dr. William L. Burner III of Vienna, VA, Juliette T. Leverette and husband, Lt. Col. Gary L. Leverette, U.S.A.F., of Albuquerque, and Susan T. Sullivan and husband, Christopher Sullivan of Japan; 14 grandchildren; three brothers, Clarence Tafoya of Fremont, CA, Richard Tafoya, and Fred Tafoya both of Albuquerque; one sister, Julia Hendren of Albuquerque.
